Songs that instantly remind you of a movie
 

There are several songs that instantly make me think of one movie or another but weren't written for the movie. I'll start with a couple, and y'all can add yours:

Obviously, My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion = Titanic

Esthero - Country Livin and Foo Fighters - Tired Of You remind me of I Think I Love My Wife

Unchained Melody - Ghost!

"These Eyes" - The Guess Who

Superbad

OK, in my aerobics class we're using the song "Two of Hearts" by Stacey Q. Unfortunately, all it reminds me of is this scene from Party Monster.

Oh and "Late for the Sky" by Jackson Browne - Taxi Driver.

In the Air tonight -Phil Collins... "Risky Business".

The Nonpoint version reminds me of Miami Vice

What's the "nonpoint" version?

Oh, and "You can leave your hat on" by Joe Cocker -9 1/2 Weeks. Love that song and the movie.

This instantly reminds me of Matilda and actually makes me really happy since it's from the upbeat ending. :D

Hearing that song always makes me teary eyed and not just because of Ghost. It's just such a powerful song. They picked the perfect song for that scene in Ghost.

I also love the Righteous Brothers. :) Their version isn't the first or last version but it's the only version that counts, in my opinion.

"Sweetest Thing" by Lauryn Hill always reminds me of Love Jones.

"No ordinary love" by Sade. Indecent Proposal.

"Candy" - The Best Man

First one that came to mind since they have been showing that movie a lot lately...

This song makes me sob every time I hear it. I think it's because I associate it with the video which features clips from the movie.

Songs that WERE in the movie that I can't hear without thinking of the films:

• "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel - Say Anything
• Wouldn't it Be Nice" by the Beach Boys - 50 First Dates (yes, it came out half a century earlier, but that scene with Adam Sandler on the boat just gets me every time!!
• "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys - Love Actually
• "Your Song" originally by Elton John - Moulin Rouge (Ewan McGregor did a cover of the song in the film, and he's "owned" it since!)

A song that wasn't in the film, but reminds me of it:
"These Boots Were Made for Walking" by Nancy Sinatra reminds me of Down With Love (starring Ewan McGregor and Renee Zellweger).

"What is Love?" by Haddaway reminds me of "Night at the Roxbury" when they're rocking out in the car!

Danger Zone & You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' = Top Gun

I love that song and movie. I don't know why I didn't post this because this is the best post in here, so far.:)

"Suddenly I See" reminds me of The Devil Wears Prada, and "Perfect Day" reminds me of Legally Blonde.

If You Leave (OMD) - Pretty in Pink

Isn't that the Beach Boys? It does it to me, too! I want that played at some point of my wedding!

And of course, "Shout" reminds me of Animal House!

God Only Knows is the Beach Boys. :eek:

Unfortunately, that song also reminds me of Boogie Nights and not in a good way.

Don't You (Forget About Me) - Breakfast Club (but that's a huge DUH!)

Because, again, it was written for the movie. ;)

It's rare, but there are some songs that aren't in any particular movie at all that actually remind me of a movie. Songs I might have been listening to on the way to see that movie or something. That happens to me sometimes. Rare, but it happens.
