Question/dilemma to any member of Kappa Alpha Psi
 

I have a question to any of the Kappas on here, if there is any. I didn't feel comfortable asking this on PP or Black Greek Forum because there are too many Kappas posting on them, and most of them didn't seem to be very friendly. Are there any Kappas posting on here? because I didn't see any. If there are I just have a question. I'm actually down to be on line this fall and I won't say which school. There's a total of 5 of us that are pledging this fall, and I feel very fortunate to be one of the 5. The problem is this summer I started hanging out with one of the members girl. She and I live in the same city and have known each other since highschool. We've always been friends, nothing more, nothing less. Eventually, one thing led to another and I had sex with her. She knows how much I want to be a Kappa, and she's been with her boyfriend for 2 years, so we decided to keep it under wraps. I'm just afraid that it's going to get out, so I'm wondering if I should just tell him and get it over with. I'm just afraid that if he finds out or even if I do tell him, I'll get cut from line. For the Kappas on here who have girls if a line member had sex with your girl and told you the truth, would you tell him he can't be down anymore? I'm just need some advice. Thanks in advance.

Dude, I'm not sure how close the brothers are among different chapters, but telling us the size of your potential pledge class could have outed you. Either own up and face the consequences, or shut up and live with the guilt. Fortunately or unfortunately, these things have a way of getting out.

And if they make you a brother you have also brought a reproach on the chapter because best believe when it comes out (and it will because it takes two to have sex so there was a reason why she slept with you) other orgs on campus WILL use it against the Kappas at "unofficial" informationals.

Believe before I became frat, the orgs that were targeting me told me all the dirt on the other chapters....unfortunately it was only one chapter that had real dirt and not smack talk.

And the fact that it is only 5 on your line means you either go to a small HBCU or a PWI with a small group of minorities. So its really gonna come out.

Seriously, why should you still be considered for membership? Haven't you proved that you can't be trusted?

There is a Kappa Alpha Psi forum on here. Go over there and introduce yourself. I am sure they can help you with the question better than any of us can. Oh and I am on PP, so I will be sure to let the Kappas over there know of your concern.

In all fairness, I think this would only be applied if he was already a member. Even then...he's a person first. A bad decision is a bad decision no matter what affiliations one may have.

He may actually be a good member of an org after being initiated. Its that hurdle of getting initiated that just became the pole vault.

It has been a while since I've been in college, but I remember LOTS of saying the right thing, being at the right place and PROVING YOURSELF for NPHC interests. Many of my friends thought about the organizations they wanted to join for months and years before actually making line. They (sometimes desperately) wanted to be liked by the members, so they would be chosen for membership. This guy played with fire by hanging out with someone's girl. There are some guys who wouldn't feel comfortable with just that much interaction. But hey, I don't know the people involved and this may not be a big deal to any of them.

Maybe he would make a good member, but he doesn't sound like a great brother.

No it wasn't worth it. It was one of those things that just happened. Yes, I attend a HBCU, and that's what I'm afraid of. I'm afraid of it getting out. That's what I'm asking. Should I tell him when I get back to school before it gets out? or should I wait until the pledge process is over with, and then tell him? I'm thinking that if I wait until the end, he'll eventually squash it. I just don't want to get cut. I've been wanting to be a Kappa since I can remember, and now that I've been picked to get on line, I just don't want to get this far just to get cut. We only had sex once, and I even stopped hanging out with her so it wouldn't happen again.

I tried posting it over in the Kappa forum, but it said I had to wait to do that.

Why are you here asking us about your personal business? If he knows and hasn't whooped your ass yet, you are certainly putting this incident out there in the event that they read this and anything seems familiar to them.
