Pop Tarts store opens in NYC

I do love a Pop Tart every now and then but you can't eat just one when it comes two to a package, and they're pretty hi-cal and sugary for breakfast. If I don't buy them, I'm fine...but if they're in the house, I can't resist. Especially Chocolate Fudge and S'more flavors.

Hmmmm sounds interesting?

I absolutely looooooove brown sugar and cinnamon poptarts though. Makes me hungry just thinking about it.

sweetmagnolia 08-10-2010 07:22 PM

I'm so glad I don't live in NYC. The temptation would be too much.

I'm a strawberry with no frosting fan- anyone with me?

Ok I'm organizing the NYC GCers on a field trip. Who's with me?

pshsx1 08-10-2010 07:36 PM

The world does NOT need that store! lol

I used to eat those every day of my Senior year of high school. So good but so awful.

I'm in, as long as they have the Hot Fudge Sundae pop tarts. Freeze one of them and they are so good!

nittanygirl 08-10-2010 08:38 PM

Sounds way too sweet for me. I prefer eggs & toast or if crunched on time just the toast for breakfast or a bagel. Though I usually just take a yogurt to class with me.

On one note though, it does get rid of the god awful outside of poptarts.
Seriously, only the inside is good. I dont get why they even bother with the outside. Yuck.

I hate Pop Tarts. Therefore, I hate this store.

That is all.

I like pop tarts once in a while, but some of this just sounds gross. Pop tart sushi? Why not call this place the Diabetes Store? They could split the rent with Liberty Medical.

Actually, I hate most sweets and Pop Tarts fall into that category lol

I also only like pop tarts with no frosting. I'm partial to the blueberry ones. My kids love strawberry, cherry and blueberry though. And the stipulations is if they eat a pop tart, then they HAVE to eat a banana, yogurt, or something else healthy as well.

33girl 08-10-2010 09:16 PM

They got rid of Chocolate Vanilla Creme. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

And no, "hot fudge sundae" and "cookies and cream" are NOT the same thing.

Fixed that for ya.

DrPhil 08-10-2010 09:33 PM

Gross.

The only Pop Tart that I like is the strawberry icing one. And I don't crave it. I just eat it if it's available and I'm hungry.

If this was a Pillsbury Toasters Strudel(sp?) store I would be praising Black baby Jesus and walking to NYC.

I used to like strawberry no-frosting, but now I like the strawberry with frosting. Yeah, the store is probably not the most healthy thing but I have a bigger problem with that commercial that mixes pop tarts and ice cream. Great eating habits to teach kids, ay?

THEY DID WHAT?!

e: Oh they did. Going on a health kick was the worst thing I ever did in college. Probably.

Still BLUTANG 08-11-2010 09:49 AM

the only ones i like are the strawberry with frosting. i only buy them in the wintertime though... they go great with hot cocoa.

note to future wintertime boo: if there are no pop tarts i will NOT be getting snowed in with you. thanks.

Alumiyum 08-11-2010 09:56 AM

My mom never let us have the frosted ones as kids, so in college I got addicted to frosted blueberry. So, so good.

AlphaFrog 08-11-2010 10:26 AM

My kids eat a pop-tart on the way to preschool in the morning. 2 kids + 2 per pack = 1 per kid. I'm a mean mami like that. They feed them something healthy for breakfast at the preschool, but my kids are one of the first to arrive so they need something to tide them over.

here, here! Maybe it's just caused by periodic burps in their distribution chain but periodically in my local grocery they don't have plain strawberry in stock. ... I walk past all the other pop tart offerings as insufficient "dreck." :)

It's strawberry plain or nuthin'.

RaggedyAnn 08-11-2010 06:50 PM

I can't even begin to imagine this. Pop tart sushi just makes my teeth hurt. Occasionally I will have a Strawberry with Frosting Tart, but that's probably once every 3 or 4 years when I'm travelling in a car long distance and need a snack.
