Mods, what is going on?
 

I have gotten a few suspecious PM's from some moderators, I would appreciate it if I knew what the heck is going on.

How can a Pm be suspicious? It either says something or doesn't say something. To be suspiscious it would have allude to something harmful that then took place or give innuendo about it.

As far as something going on. I have no idea of what actions that might be going on pertaining to you from mods, this is a virtual medium that precludes them really "doing" anything to you. That is the virtue of the net, you can be violate most rules of propriety without any consequences more serious than printed roman characters appearing that indicate some dissaproval of you. Although somtimes its in strong language, but what the fuck, who cares.

I will say, since you made a post with some seriously vague questions which opens up almost every category of possible speculation, that your posts have a knack of rubbing some people the wrong way. And some of those people are mods.

Personally, since you decided to address me personally, I find your posts to be mostly unmemorable with very little content that I would deem informative, entertaining, or useful. And since I am kind of self centered, your posts that others deem inflammatory, I barely notice except to get a distant chuckle from time to time. However that applies to many of the things I read on here, so you have hardly cornered that market.

If the PM's you have recieved are worth reading, likely insulting, inflammatory, threatening . . . or otherwise entertaining, please feel free to cut and paste them and forward them to me. If they are kind of mundane or even insulting in an unentertaining matter, please don't forward them I read enough boring stuff everyday.

If the PM's are out of line or whetever, and they would have to be pretty bad in highly specific ways for me to even care, you can rest assured I'll b ashonest in my feedback to the mods as I am to you.

Well at least someone feels this way about my posts.

Tom PM me, asking if there was a problem. Maybe the problem is that, the majority of GC does not percieve my posts the James do. And, that I need to remember to be more sensitive to other GCer's who are sensitive.

What in the world are you talking about? If you have issues with a specfic mod then take it to them personally . I mean I think if you ask these mods who have PMed you some questions, i am sure they will have some answers for you.
As for calling out James, I am sure in his post he gave you the answer that mosts fits the situation. But I don't think it's a point of being sensitive, I think it's just how one conducts his or herself
I mean I hate to be Rude (actually, I am getting better at it;) ) but this whole situation is getting kinda *yawn* boring and old :rolleyes:

Well, from reading Tom's email it appeared that something had been discussed between the mods and/or other GC members. Maybe I'm wrong.

I do think that sensitivity does play a factor. In general I am a pretty light hearted and easy going person. I mean less than 5% of the things that I post should be taken seriously. Sometimes I fool myself into thinking that everyone else is like that also. If it wasn't a factor, I don't think that 75% of GC would want to skin me alive, they'll be like "whatever" instead.

but seriously now - james is right, this is the internet, and the most serious response or "retaliation" you'll get are a few harsh words and banishment to the land of annoying people :cool:

if you have something to say to a specific moderator (ahem) take it up with them in a PM or e-mail - otherwise, all youre doing with this is looking for attention

SH80er, since you brought out my PM and you said there were others (? ) it shows a caring about the site and the people on it! I noticed you did not repost my whole PM also!

As you can see from the above NO ONE wants to skin you alive or Douse, Boot, or Kicked Off. Most of us as I told you have a common Interest, the Greek Community, from my age down to Newbie or any of the other new Rushees!

Naw . . . it's absolutely within the range of normal behavior to drop a line to every one of the 11000 members of this bulletin board, rather than taking it up with the specific people you claim to have issue with.

Becoming useless?

Because it was so damn useful in the first place - that little PM button is tough to hit, I know, but really, you can get used to it if you give it practice.

And if you didn't want anyone but moderators responding to this post, then why the heck did you even post in an open forum about it.

Not taking sides, but it would suck if it was 10 mods and he had to PM each one seperately. I'd have to say SH80 effectively used the subject to tell whom to read and to respond. I read it anyway, but wasn't pissed when it didn't concern me since the title told me it wouldn't.

Anyone who is reading this forum and is not a mod is plain and simple being kinda nosy. I will be the first to admitt... IM BEING NOSY. it looked interesting so I read, even though it was address to mods. So anyone who isnt a mod really shoul;dnt be getting upset. Just my opinion.

Than again like someone already said, she is putting out in the open rather than pming the mods so she wants everyone to read and respond and laugh.
