Greetings and Salutations :))))
Hi to each and every one of you, my wonderful sisters! I can't believe I just discovered this site, wow is all I can say, and how I wish there had been something like this when I went through rush at the University of Florida years ago! As someone who served as both a Rho Chi(dating myself by calling it that, I'm sure) and as VP of membership in my chapter, I hope I can provide some good insight and advice to all the PNMs.
I haven't decided if I should reveal my affiliation, mostly because I'm still often involved in recruitment as an almuna, (Yeah, I stayed in Gainesville after college, I grew up there and what can I say-love that Gator Football, chomp!) and I do NOT want to influence any UF PNMS (there sure are a lot of them!) nor do I want anybody on Greek Chat either soliciting me for recs OR figuring out who I am and "outing" me at any recruitment parties I may be helping out at. What do you ladies think? There is so much dissapointment in some of these recruitment stories, and I hope that, without revealing anything about MS, I can share my stories about dissapointment on the other side as well. UF recruitment is competitive as all get out, and my house specifically was in constant competition with two to three other chaptersfor the same girls! We see alot of heartbreak at bid day on the PNM's side, but I can tell you that as a sister my heart was broken many times as well by a rush crush who went elsewhere! There was also a situation with two very different factions of sisters within my chapter-let's just say we all had very different ideas about which girls would be "perfect" ABCs! I remember fighting and fighting for girls to the point of tears and screaming matches! (As I'm not privy to protocol is that TMI?) I also had the unique experience of watching my little sister(biological) come through rush when I was a senior and seeing her heartbreak after bring dropped by so many houses who just assumed she would end up in my house. Also the joy of waiting to see that same sister run towards my house on bid day and watching all of mychapter jump up and down and embrace her! Truly the best experience of my GLO life! I have a feeling I'm going to become a little obsessed on this board! |
And P.S. just from the lurking I have already done, I have a GC crush on Drolefile!
|
hi!

I think it's probably smart to keep your personal information under wraps. You might find yourself inundated on this board with requests for recommendations like Barbie did in the past (thus the secrecy about her GLO status.) Welcome to GC! I'm excited to have a real live UF Alum on the board. That will be invaluable since we get LOTS of SEC questions. I'm from Louisiana , though, so I gotta say it....GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

:( I thought she was bleeding orange and blue because she was an Auburn fan.
|
Thanks AOII Angel for your welcome on both my posts! Unfortunately, you are right about keeping my affiliation quiet-for now. Just so know, three of my closest friends from high school went AOII after my recruitment and they were the only house to cut me first round! That AND your shameless LSU plug really really makes me want to gator chomp you, but....I guess in the spirit of sisterhood, I'll refrain. ;)

There's Auburn Orange and Blue, and then there's Hogtown Dayglo Orange and Shiny Blue. Be thankful. |

Interesting. And here you people are always telling us that your REAL rival is someone else. No vomiting red and black? |
Awful, mean people
You know what girls? I just tried to come on Greek Chat and continue my Greek sisterhood experience and here you bitches are, jumping on my very first post, and making fun of me! About colors of all things?!?! Just remember, you represent your organizations and I'm not sure how your national offices might feel about your cruel and mean behavior on this board! Shame on you!
J/K. Just thought I'd go all troll on you guys for a bit.(Seriously though, AnchorAlumna, don't you ever call our blue shiny again!) Keep talking smack about the Gators, we're used to it. It's lonely on the top! |

Oh no, MysticCat, I spent waaaaay too much time at the Pike house in college. I still have a thing for fire trucks. And most of my good male friends at this stage in my adult life are the Pike boys I used to party with way back when. They grew up all nice and respectable-whodathunkit?
Seriously though, after perusing this board all day how come every crazy poster is a UF PNM or otheriwse UF related? |

Hey! I'm speaking for the normal UF PNMs haha, I'm rushing this fall at UF as a junior! Welcome to the boards, I'm super new myself. This site has been full of good information! |

Shiny blue? Got that from the Old Ball Coach's nickname...remember him? Mr. Shiny Pants? If you're so lonely on top, maybe the Pikes would welcome you back at the house....when's cougar night? Bring it, hogtown honey. Gotta love that Greek sisterhood. :p LOL! All smack talk aside, glad to have you on the boards. |
