LaBron

Should we start a pool to bet on where he goes?

Gusteau 07-08-2010 08:59 PM

We've been hearing about this on the radio in the NY area for two weeks now - I'm so sick of it. I've been saying Miami since last week, and I'll stick with that.

Really, I just want it to be over so they'll start talking about something else.

FYI: It's LeBron, lol, just one vowel off

Nanners52674 07-08-2010 09:14 PM

I'm hoping anywhere but Miami so I can giggle about all the people who sold out the season ticket sales today in anticipation.

In all honesty I don't care.

IrishLake 07-08-2010 09:15 PM

Brainfart  I blame the first week back to work in 15 months... it's fried my brain.

DaemonSeid 07-08-2010 09:27 PM

He's going to play for the Oakland Raiders...............

DaemonSeid 07-08-2010 09:28 PM

he will be in miami...surprise surprise

IrishLake 07-08-2010 10:05 PM

AAAANNNNNDDDD Cleveland goes back to being the worst city for professional sports. I think I might become a Reds fan. Good thing I don't care much about NBA ball.

Kappamd 07-08-2010 11:16 PM

I understand why he left. I do.

However, I will NEVER respect him for the way he played Cleveland. Going on national TV and embarassing Akron and Cleveland the way he did will keep him blacklisted in my book. Good riddance.

His leaving doesn't change my loyalty though. GO CAVS.

DaemonSeid 07-09-2010 07:38 AM

I don't know which is worse...the Distracti....errrm...Decision or Dan Gilbert's letter written in the PC equivalent of crayon

ETA: To sports fans...so when a free agent leaves he's a traitor and causes stupidity enough to riot but when he gets cut by the team, it's "just bizness" and people just move on...right.

Little32 07-09-2010 08:15 AM

I have not cared at all about this, but while listening to NPR this morning I heard the general manager/owners response to his departure and all that it made me think was "hell, I would have left too, if that's the attitude."

DaemonSeid 07-09-2010 09:10 AM

They are just mad because Cleveland will sink right back into obscurity where it has been for the past 50 or so years.

DrPhil 07-09-2010 09:27 AM

I was sooooooooooo...ooooooooo...annoyed with this Lebron James thing.

I watched most of his "show" and was so pissed off that they make such a big event out of it. He was talking and stuff and I was like blahzey blah. I wanted to slap the hell outta everyone involved. I know all of this is about money on the part of the James, the team, and the sports shows. But, I just wanted a caption to say "Miami" at the bottom of the screen so that the world could move on.

Cleveland's GM/owner's response was so funny to me last night. He did the capitalized words (yelling in type speech) and everything. I laughed and the ESPN reporters were like "the capitalized is his doing." I agree with the GM in that this damn James thing has been the most hyped up announcement in entertainment and sports. I don't understand the GM doing, as ESPN called, the psychic route of saying things like payback's a bitch and Cleveland will win a championship before James does with Miami.

Okay...I got that out of my system. Cringe.

DaemonSeid 07-09-2010 09:52 AM

It was like, you know how when someone gets dumped and they go out, get drunk, and start texting/emailing the new ex all sorts of hateful and ridiculous things when someone clearly should have taken their phone away before they made an ass of themselves? That was Gilbert's response. While I know why he left (hell, I left Cleveland 13 years ago), it does kind of suck for the town, whose economy was based on him.

Oh well, at least we still have the Browns. Right?...... RIGHT???

DaemonSeid 07-09-2010 11:05 AM

and the Indians

Shellfish 07-09-2010 11:41 AM

The other thing about the owner's response is that it's in Comic Sans, which has to be the cheesiest of fonts.

Kappamd 07-09-2010 11:45 AM

I say hoorah for Dan Gilbert. He's been the only one to truly call out Lebron for being a self-righteous ass. It probably could have been done in a more "classy" way, but who cares. You can say the exact same thing about Lebron's decision.

Shellfish 07-09-2010 01:54 PM

Come on, people. It's Grady Sizemore.

Psi U MC Vito 07-09-2010 02:34 PM

All this nonsense about Lebron makes me happy I stopped following NBA years ago.

DaemonSeid 07-09-2010 03:18 PM

hahahaha

Lil' Hannah 07-09-2010 03:51 PM

Dan Gilbert also owns Fat Head (Fathead? whatever) and reduced all Lebron Fat Heads from $99.99 to $17.41 - Benedict Arnold's birthyear.

Fail. He sucked this spring and now he's out until next year.

Josh Cribbs FTW.

And to the newbie poster, "The King" was a nickname he earned while still in HS, back when he knew how to earn titles.
