What li Lambda Chi like at your school?
I was wondering what Lambda Chi is like at your school, since we are on of the most respected national fraternities.
|
We are the best at our school, NSU. I am not being biased, since we have won Outstanding fraternity 5 years in a row! We boast a chapter of 70 guys a a small school of 7000! I also know that penn st, k-state, oklahoma, rose-hulman,central florida, denver, and unlv just to name a few have excellent chapters.

No really they are a great bunch of guys ( and they aren't too hard on the eye's either) |
Hey lca209, thanks for the complement. I'm from the Rose chapter. We're a pretty strong chapter here, just finished our long 7 week rush, and took 17 guys. That was about average for all the fraternities. In the recent past, we started slipping from school involvement, but we're getting into that much more now. Things are really starting to look back up. I got to meet a lot of guys from many chapters in Atlanta this summer. It was a great time!

Well to tell the truth they are worthless.
They provide nothing for the school nor the comunity. I have nothing against them But, they really don't do anything besides calling the cops to get parties and rituals interupted. Sorry for the rant but I tell it like it is |
One of my best buddy is a Lambda Chi from Whitewater. No Lambda Chi in my school

We are one of the best at our campus, Murray State University. And we are one of the top chapters in the nation. We won the Grand High Alpha in 99 and should be up for it again in 2001 or 2002, I can't remember how long you have to wait to get another one.

There apparently used to be a LXA chapter at my school (Towson University), and they're coming back! I'm really excited b/c although my sorority is trying to affiliate with a Multicultural as opposed to an NPC, we're working to become part of our campus' NPC, and we'll probably have a lot of opportunity to interact w/ the lambda chi's. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I'm from NY. My buddy's name is Joe. He graduated about a year or two years ago. He's the Indonesian dude. Last time I talk to him, he was in New York working.

No Comment........................................... ..................Or should I say I plead the fifth.

The Lambda Chi's at LSU, along with Sigma Chi, are the two strongest fraternities.

At Ohio State, they are low on the respect level and even lower in terms of membership. They just moved back into their old house (which is shitty, but much much better than the house they were living in), so maybe they can improve soon.

I am the current president of the Lambda Chi chapter at Nebraska-Omaha. Our chapter is known for being gentlemen, strong excellence in academics, Brotherhood, and Philanthropy. We have achieved the highest GPA among the rest of the fraternities on campus for several years. And yes we do have fun, but we do not get carried away.

At my school, Lambda Chi is very strong. They are a lot more selective than some fraternities so they are one of the smaller ones. They are very involved on campus and also do a ton of community service. The brothers are extremely nice and they are a lot of fun to mix with! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Lambda Chi was kicked off of my campus about years ago after a pledge died from too much alcohol....
|
At USC, we have 112 guys and will probably pick up 10-15 more during Spring Rush. The house has gotten larger and more selective associate classes during the past couple years and have great reputations with the girls and university. Definitely a strong, respected chapter with tons of great guys.

While the Chapter has gone through some tuogh times, We as Alums have gotten back on the track to work with our Brothers. While we only have 35 members we are always looking for more men to be our Brothers. I never beleived in just pinning a guy to get the numbers. we are well respected as many of our members are on commitees on campus. If one of our chapters screw up they should be dropped. But it should be a good reason. I watched a story on History Chanell last night and the meaning of Brother/Sister Hood really stood out. The majority of the Generals who fought the Civil War on both sides were from West Point. A battle was stopped when an oppossing Gens. wifw had a baby, another was when an opposing Gen. Was Killed in the battle. THey honored each other as they were great freinds except during the battle. When Lee surrendered to Grant, Lee asked for his armies hores and arms to take back with them to restart again. While this was one of the bloodiest wars that this country has know they were still Gentlemen. This is the same type closeness that all of our Greek Org. have to each other and should have for or between us. We are not all good and We are not all bad. We are alone in many parts of the world because we are Greeks.

wow--reputations vary so much from school to school. Here Lambda Chi is thought of as being pretty dorky and half-gay. I don't even think they really mix with any sororities. I really don't mean to offend anyone at all, so please don't take that the wrong way. I have friends in Lambda Chi and am not big on sterotyping whole houses, but that's just the general opinion around campus from what I've heard.
|
At Indiana University, Lamba Chis are "the nice guys." They're a little bit of everything, but are very involved on campus. They don't have the best of reputations, but they certainly aren't bottom of the barrel, either. I always thought they were nice, friendly, sincere guys. I always went to their mixers, and we had a lot of snowball fights with them on snow days!

I think it is obviouse to say that all fraternities and sororities of all names have different reputations on different campuses. Not everyone can be on top.

I'm married to one if that tells you anything...and several of my sisters are dating them. Really cool guys, very down to earth, like to have a good time!!
|
LXA's alpha chapter is here at BU, if i remember correctly - it's a good bunch of guys, small chapter but they're all pretty chill, from what i've seen. I guess they almost died out a few years back, and they've been working hard to re-establish campus presence, which is cool
|
Please when you say something on your school put out name as more than one U of A ETC. This is of interest to me as I look at greekpages.com a lot to check on Greeks at those campus' and the different Fraternitys / Soroitys. We are all Greeks!!!!!!!

At Illinois State (a few years ago..) they threw the best parties until they were forced into byob... The guys were all great to hang out with, and for the most part pretty cute... http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
|
lxa's at my school are nice guys but they got in trouble last year for alcohol and are trouble right now for supposed hazing. great guys though, and CUTE.
|
At East Carolina they are very studios and they have a baeutiful house!
|
I am very sorry to say that Lamda Chi at Colorado State just closed after the alleged use of GHB at parties.
I truly hope that this turns out to be an unfounded charge. I do think, in their defense, that no formal charges were made due to lack of evidence. That kind of activity is dumb beyond belief. The attendant publicity also casts a terrible shadow on the other CSU Greeks. It is also important to say that at least one newspaper quoted the local police as saying that this was not just a Greek problem at Ft. Collins. Hopefully, the chapter can recolonize sometime in the future. |
The Lambda Chi's at my school are great. They are really down to earth and a blast to party with. Their house is kinda small, but I look at it as quality over quantity. I have also partied with lambda chi's from other schools and they all seemed really fun too.
|
Well at my school they're basically the "nerds". They have very low membership, but are a great group of guys. They have a lot of pride for their house, and make really good friends. Unfortunately they just can't seem to get out from under that nerdy image. But they did practically double their house size this year...so that's a step in the right direction.
