I would just like to know that as of last night, I officially have an awesome TKE pledge kid!!! He is so cool, he actually walked around the bar last night wearing a shirt that said "my mommy is a phi mu." Anyway, pledge mom night was great, and I am so proud to have my little TKE baby wearing my letters.

you mean, unofficially...right?

wearing letters at the bar is a no-no in my campus...for sororities anyways. I have no idea what they would think of someone else wearing your letters at the bar though. heh.

Is that anything like a big sis? Thats what we call them here at least. Congrats. Take good care of him now. Littles like to be cooked for on occasion. lol

phi Sig would flip out and dissafiliate us if we were caught in ANY circumstance around alcohol with our letters on. It's a definate bad thing.

Just make sure you never get a tatoo with letters or you would be out of luck.:p

I'm actually planning on getting my letters tatoo'd= however they must be completely covered up if we drink.

We aren't allowed to wear our letters in a bar/while drinking. If a guy does, though, it doesn't really make us look bad. People aren't going to look at him and think "gee, Phi Mu's must drink a lot."

Mine will be chinese characters that say "Love, Charity, Esteem"

Well, then i can show it to people and they'll ask what it means, then i can say "love, charity, esteem" and they can say "ok so what does THAT mean?" and i can use it as a rush tool :)

I think girls would be more likely to ask you than guys. Not to many guys look at guys arms.

Tattoos are a great self-expression. Hope you can handle the needles and you get it in a place where it won't too bad, and make sure you get something you won't regret. They're fun to show off too, I luv mine. Good Luck.

That depends on whether or not i get it on my arms...

Plus, guys notice tattoos pretty easily, and usually ask what it means, at least in my experience...

Interesting...Do they have concepts in Chinese that translate? I am sure there is something similar, but I know they have many concepts that can't be explained perfectly in English.

I hadn't really thought much about stuff like this....i just didn't want to "jump on the bandwagon" and get letters tattoo'd....cuz that's what everyone else is doing. I want to get something that I know means something very dear to me, and will willingly explain it to others who ask. Generally, i just wanted to be a little different....but still have a lasting reminder as to what I stand for, and what is important to me.

I mean a lot of my brothers kinda laughed at me when i told them that's what i was planning on getting, and most of the guys who will get one already have letters, or something. I just kinda told them i wanted to be different, and didn't care what anybody else thought of what i was gonna do...but that i would know what it means to me....and that's all that really matters.

Of course, these guys are all young, so they don't yet know the meaning of the word "maturity"
