Alpha Gamma Delta Returns to Syracuse
 

Hurray for the Triad!

Hi Everybody - just wanted everyone to know that the final vote for NPC Extension ( bringing another group back to the SU campus) passed unanimously on Friday. Thank you for all your help with your various chapters !! Alpha Gamma Delta will be the first group brought back and Delta Phi Epsilon will be the second group brought back.


AGD will come back to campus THIS Fall and will take their first pledge class through Open Bidding this Fall. Then, in the Spring, they will rush right along with all the other houses. In the Fall they can take all classes except Freshman. In the Spring, they can take all classes - just like everybody else.



The University's lease on AGD's house is up in the Summer of 2011. The women they pledge this upcoming academic year will be able to move into the house in the Fall of 2011. This works out well because anybody they pledged in the upcoming year would already be under housing contract someplace, so they would not be able to move into the house until Fall of 2011 anyway.



After AGD is settled, but no sooner than the Spring of 2011, a vote on the timing for D Phi E to come back will be held. No other house will be allowed to be considered until after D Phi E is back on campus & also settled. The only decision to be made with respect to D Phi E is timing. That will depend entirely on how quickly AGD's membership is brought up to size - and of course, current campus conditions - although nothing is currently foreseen that would be negative.



Last year there were 750 women who went through recruitment. There were close to 200 who dropped out. The pledge class size was 48. They are predicting that more women will sign up for Spring Rush, but even if the numbers stay the same, the quota, after considering the additional house, will still be a rather large 44. If the numbers still stay the same, & D Phi E comes back the quota would still be a rather large 41.

I got so excited when I saw the post on twitter!! Congrats AGD!

Crashing to say congrats! I'll be at Syracuse next year and will keep everyone updated on expansion! I'm so excited...not only is the Panhellenic community excited to be expanding, but Alpha Phi and Gamma Phi Beta are really happy to have our last triad member back.

I've had my head in other things for most of the summer, so today is the first I've heard of this! Congratulations to the ladies of AGD!! Whoop whoop for the Syracuse Triad!!!
