Loose women cause earthquakes! Who knew?!

"Many women who do not dress modestly ... lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes," Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi was quoted as saying by Iranian media. Sedighi is Tehran's acting Friday prayer leader.
Women in the Islamic Republic are required by law to cover from head to toe, but many, especially the young, ignore some of the more strict codes and wear tight coats and scarves pulled back that show much of the hair.
"What can we do to avoid being buried under the rubble?" Sedighi asked during a prayer sermon Friday. "There is no other solution but to take refuge in religion and to adapt our lives to Islam's moral codes."

Thanks, Iran...didn't know we had so much power. Maybe Pat Robertson was onto something with all his ranting after all!

Is this a clip from "Religulous?"

You'd think, right!? That was pretty funny, btw.

It's not just extreme Muslims who believe this stuff. Pat Robertson is a prime example. There are fundamentalists all over this country who believe that miscarriage, a genetic illness, or weather distasters happen to people because they don't pray hard enough (they blame their own fellow believers for tragedy and crises).

Yes, I was referring to your reference. I was agreeing. Sorry I didn't attribute it to you! :)

Ahh...I thought you were getting onto me about putting down islam as backwards. I get it! I agree. People are very quick to show that one religion has backwards idiots who use superstition to hold down the masses (particularly women) but ignore the idiots in their own.

Is Pat Robertson the one to blame the Haitian earthquake on the practicing of Vodou?

To those affected by the earthquakes,

I apologize for wearing tank tops and short shorts to baseball games and around campus this spring. If I had known that my wardrobe decisions would be the cause of such devastation, I would have worn jeans and a sweater. I heartily apologize.

Lol. I didn't even think of that when I posted. Oh well. :D

DrPhil 04-21-2010 06:35 PM

I thought DDDlady was a troll or sock puppet when I saw that she posted in this thread. LOL.

DDDlady 04-21-2010 06:40 PM

No. Not a troll or sock puppet. I mainly stay in lurker mode which is why my post count is so low. I find that, most of the time, anything I would like to say in a thread has already been said before I get to the party.

I was going to say, "If Pat said this, I'm leaving." Good to know it wasn't him this time (though he'll probably release a statement "seconding" this any day now).

ForeverRoses 04-22-2010 08:09 AM

hey I'm wearing pants and a sleeveless shirt today- so all earthquakes in the midwest are my fault! WOOHOO

Lol I'm attending.

And, perhaps these people are jealous that loose women are having such great sex that they cause earthquakes? (hmm.. sorry i had to lol)

christiangirl 04-22-2010 04:02 PM

Hahaha I'm attending!

Though there are (on average) about 100 quakes in Cali daily, so I think I just joined for the stance more than anything. :p

Well, today is Boobquake. There actually was a major earthquake off the coast of Taiwan.

I didn't know boobies had so much power beyond attracting a man and feeding babies (and filling out a corset like nobody's business).

They also hold crumbs so you can snack later.

OMG is that not the worst? I love triscuits but I can't eat them if I have a cleavage baring shirt on because I never get all the crumbs out and they get up under my boob and...

I'm realizing this makes me sound incredibly dirty.

Movie popcorn, I now always wear a hooded sweatshirt. Movie theatres are always chilly anyway, and that is saying something when you're a Norwegian who keeps their house at 50 degrees.

BahamaMama05 04-27-2010 04:57 PM

I thought the one in Haiti was because of a pact with the devil to drive the French out?
