a question regarding style

Guys'll think this is gay as shit, but I want your ladies opinion. Without discussing style, other than saying that they're expensive, but not so expensive it puts me in a tight financial spot, what would you say about these suede pants from J.Crew. I think the reason most people don't wear this shit is because they couldn't pull it off. Not to be arrogant, or anything, but I know I could. I guess my question is, do you think these would be worth spending some cash...I like to be stylish when I can, so please no 'just buy a pair of jeans, material things are pointless' responses, thanks.

Well, my opinion(and I adore guys who dress NICE all the time-not just jeans and t-shirts) I like them. If you had tried them on and like how they look, then I say go for it. I do like them and agree that only some guys could wear them and look good. So if you like 'em, then get 'em!

DGPhoney 10-24-2001 11:07 AM

Nice Pants

2 thumbs up on the pants. They are very classy pants for a guy. The Pants can go for a nice casual look or even if you have to dress it up a notch. I think they work in either area. They have a similar pair of pants like those at the Gap, but I think I like the Jcrew ones better. The Cash part, yes I think they are worth spending for, cause guys can always use a nice pair of pants andyou never know when you have to be some where and ya need the right look or just looking nice ya know.
So go for sigmachicard, show em what ya working wit ;)

i am all for a guy who can dress himself, and do it well :D
these pants are great, i love them, and well i've seen a picture of you cory and i think you'd look fabulous in them. the key to wearing these pants will be in how you accesorize them... wearing the wrong shoes or belt with these pants will kill the outfit. and if you're a guy who is into turtlenecks - please, wear them, guys look extremely sexy in them!

greeklawgirl 10-24-2001 11:26 AM

Love 'em! Go for it. :)

amycat412 10-24-2001 11:30 AM

Love em and would definitely notice a guy wearing them. :)

AlphaGam1019 10-24-2001 11:35 AM

I used to work at J Crew and always thought it was great that guys would buy something different than khaki's or jeans. As long as you stay around the same size, I think it worth the price!

damasa 10-24-2001 11:37 AM

lol..I'm not going to bs..I just ordered those pants a few days ago!

I don't think it's more of a style thing, like if it fits into your style of clothes...say..you like to wear tennis shoes..some nikes or what have you and wind pants and t-shirts...walking out in some suede pants is going to get you some rave reviews by your bros and friends.

SigmaChiCard 10-24-2001 11:40 AM

Oh Don't worry about accessorizing.

Got my Birkenstock Bostons or my Clarks Desert Treks, got a phat belt, but need a new one

edited: did you really? Have you gotten them yet? They look pretty phat, I'm going to go to the leather store in my mall today and see if they fit different at all, then order them, then.

KillarneyRose 10-24-2001 11:41 AM

I like these pants; I definitely think you should order them! I love to see a guy who can put together a look. That's the only thing I would change about my dear hubby; the fact that he can't dress worth a darn. (Jeans or khakis and always a polo shirt = BORING). But he's spent most of his adult life wearing a uniform so he doesn't really know any better; poor thing.

That's how my dad is. I've got him sporting combos of A&F now that brings a cool, but not trying to act young look to him. He still needs some work though.

AOIIAngel 10-24-2001 12:24 PM

LOL, you men are so funny....about a month ago my guy friend calls me at work and says 'PLEASE take me shopping! I have a date and don't have anything to wear!!!' So in my opinion, that is what girl-friends are for- to help those un-stylish guys dress. But it looks like sigmachicard has GREAT taste!!!

SigmaChiCard 10-24-2001 12:36 PM

IowaHawkeye. I'm glad you like Turtlenecks, I love them and wear them all the time. Someone on here once said in some forum 'unless you're skiing, DON"T wear them.' Glad to know you're a fan.

Dejajeva 10-24-2001 12:43 PM

Well.

-grins mischeviously-

I love a guy who can dress and dress well- something so sexy about a guy who knows what to wear and pulls it off.

Go for it.
:)

Always,
Jessica

UMgirl 10-24-2001 01:24 PM

I say go for it! At first when you said it before I saw the pick I was going eww. But after seeing them I think they're sweet. I agree... I all for a guy who dresses well and smells good too. Its even better when you can do it cheap.

damasa 10-24-2001 01:25 PM

i wear turtlenecks too...i wear a lot of things..and i don't care what ppl think of them..that's what i like about fashion and style..it's all about what you like..and if you make it look good..you will be looked upon with good eyes..lol...or something like that...
It's kind of like walking passed a group of girls and you can see them looking at ya out of the corner of your eye......

UMgirl 10-24-2001 01:32 PM

Ok, IM sorry cuz I know lots of girls diagree, but I think guys wearing turtlenecks are pretty hot. Im not trying to hit on anyone, but i just think that way... Also the color baby blue and guys wearing khakis or dark jeans with nice dress up shirts not tucked in. (necklace a +). OK yeah im trendy and preppy... sue me :)

bucutie02 10-24-2001 02:59 PM

love the pants, and im sure they would look dashing on you ;)

although, im not too fond of the shoes- i'd choose the second ones if i had to pick though :)

guys who can dress themselves with a sense of style shows they actually care about their appearance- kudos to you!

SigmaChiCard 10-24-2001 03:17 PM

i've already got both pair, actually. Those Birks practically attached to the bottom of my foot. If I could really get away with never wearing anything but them and fat wool socks or my cashmere socks, I would

Buy them asap. A day in JCrew is the most cathartic experience in the world for me. Just smelling something from JCrew increases my blood flow. And if you end up not digging them, return them. JCrew has an amazing return policy. A JCrew purchase is an investment. Honestly, I am sure you would look marvelous in close to anything. And since you enjoy turtlenecks...pair this with a thick black turtleneck from the fall catalog and you will definitely be pullin ladies and feeling oh so put together.

ees125 10-25-2001 08:50 AM

KillarneyRose...It's gotta be another military thing...my guy lives in Polo shirts! Khaki's or jeans too...will NOT buy anything different.

As for the suade pants...GO FOR IT! A man who dresses nice and on his own, is a wonderful thing! And I have to agree with the posts about turtle necks...defnitily a good thing on men!

SigmaChiCard 11-01-2001 11:44 AM

got em & they're awesome. it's a nice touch when all your attractive girl friends just want to rub you all the time ;)

shadokat 11-01-2001 11:52 AM

SigmaChiCard, just be careful you don't end up like Ross in the episode where he's wearing the leather pants and he can't get them up and he's in the bathroom with the baby powder and everything. I can't help to imagine that! LOL I'm sure you look great though :)

ZetaLuvBunny 11-02-2001 04:54 PM

IowaHawkeye----The turtle-neck thing is SOOO true! I personally think that I, as a girl, look dorky in a turtleneck, but guys---mmm, yummy!!! Like especially if they have that Banana Republic model look to them!

AlphaChiGirl 11-02-2001 06:05 PM

If you think you can pull them off, go on and do it!

I think they would look especially nice with a cream turtleneck. ;)
