Favorite Halloween candy

Well, since Halloween is right around the corner, I thought I would see what everyone's favorite candy is! I have 2--but only one is a candy. I LOVE Almond joys(I am just a coconut freak!) and I also LOVE pumpkin seeds, but only the kind from a real pumpkin, that you get out yourself and bake right there. I HATE the store bought ones! Okay, now everyone else's turn!

ZTAngel 10-23-2001 03:03 PM

Mounds and 3 Musketeers! And if any of you used to wonder if your parents were swiping candy from your bags after you went to bed--of course they did!;)

Off the subject, I know, but have you tried Heineken Special Dark Beer? It's terrible.

The1calledTKE 10-23-2001 03:44 PM

I think most Dark Beer in general is terrible.

greeklawgirl 10-23-2001 04:13 PM

Totally off-topic, but have you tried a Murphy's Irish Stout? I think it tastes great.

And Iowa Hawkeye, I am totally with you on the Reese's Cups! I could eat 20 in a single sitting! They're addictive!

AlphaGam1019 10-23-2001 04:24 PM

most favorite: Snickers

least favorite: 3 Musketeers
I can't believe people will give raisins out. :P gross.

Fun Sized?

On another semi-related note:

Why do they call the tiny candy bars fun-size? I don't think its very fun to get a fraction of a candy bar. I think it would be a lot more fun to have a giant one instead. They should call the little one "snack sized" instead.

LOL - i totally agree, i want the big-ass chocolate bar - now that's fun :D

ZTAMich 10-23-2001 06:26 PM

Ya think Rasins are bad? One year my mom gave out crayons in these little sealed packs..red blue and yellow thank you crayola.

Fav candy has to be a Kit Kat or Krackle...Snickers always hits the spot too!

veruca76 10-23-2001 06:26 PM

Okay - this is a little off topic too. Does anyone remember ZOTS?They were this hard candy with fizzy stuff in the middle and came in strips of five. I used to love those but everytime I ask someone about them they look at me like I'm on crack.

33girl 10-23-2001 07:42 PM

I want a circus peanut. Or maybe two. I don't want to buy a whole bag though, because my body can't handle that much sugar.

They have those cute little snack size bags of Hershey's Kisses - why can't they do that with circus peanuts??

I remember them!

There are actually 2 kinds- Zots Bombs and just Zots
I've found them on the web at:
http://www.candykitchen.net/candy/no...c/zotsbomb.htm
http://www.candykitchen.net/candy/no...c/sourzots.htm

ladybug1116 10-23-2001 08:37 PM

I like candy corn for halloween and twix anytime :) I am just a chocolate freak though so I'm not too picky when it comes to this food group!

AOPiLaLa---I just carved a pumpkin with a friend and we roasted the pumpkin seeds. Yum :D

AGDLynn 10-23-2001 10:09 PM

Autumn Mix

Just saw it at the Target checkout line..wonder why, lol

It's got the candy corn, pumpkins..can't remember what else. I know in the past I think they had pilgrims or some other type of people, but I guess it would be politically incorrect now..no matter, they all tasted the same, lol!

carnation 10-23-2001 10:32 PM

This is going to sound kind of weird...

If you put your face in a bag of Halloween candy and breathe deeply, the candy has a distinctive smell that'll bring back wonderful memories. If you do the same with a bag of Easter candy, the smell will also bring on nostalgia but it's a very different scent! Duh- because of the different types of candy, of course, but I just wanted to point it out if no one had tried it!

IowaHawkeye 10-23-2001 10:44 PM

lol, carnation, are you telling us to stick our faces in a bag?? my mother always told me i could suffocate if i did that ;)

carnation 10-23-2001 11:13 PM

I knew I was going to come off sounding weird on that! No, I just meant briefly put your face in the opening and take a whiff!

Lol that was totaly random :) Just kidding. I am reading about candy than beer is mentioned. :D I don't think it is anything special either, kind of groos compared to the other dark beers.

Yeah good question. To me fun size is a king sized candy bar.

OK...that is hysterical. My mom is a teacher...so I can relate. On the beer note, Sierra Nevada, hands down...RE-PUL-SIVE....sorry for all the ale lovers out there. Has anyone ever had Black Star? THAT, on the other hand is, Faaabulous.

Oh yeah...candy was the topic, huh? So I am all about the sweet tarts and candy corn. The worst is when you get those generic little hard candies that you know came in the 10 pound for 4.99 bag. I miss trick-or-treating...thank god for chapter meeting and the 10000 cookies we get every week. Thank god for my metabolism....I swear I eat my body weight in food every day. Haha

KSigkid 10-24-2001 12:15 AM

First of all - Sierra Nevada is a solid beer - not as good as Guinness or Blue Moon, but a very good beer.

Now on the candy/Halloween note - first off, anything with peanut butter in it would be my favorites - used to eat those by the bag fulls when i was a chubby little kid. The best was, when I was really young, my grandma's neighbor gave my little sister and I toys - like stuffed animals, GI Joes, He-Men (greatest toys ever by the way, and He-Man the show was awsome), that kinda stuff. Really spoiled us when I come to think of it.

DGPhoney 10-24-2001 01:24 AM

anything chocolate and oh oh, the Doves special ones, I forgot what they are called but they come in tiny red or blue wrappings and they have quotes within the wrapper. emm emm good, like campbell soup it's da bomb !!!!!

smiles23 10-24-2001 01:51 AM

I love all candy around halloween time. My favs would probably be Almond Joys and 3 Musketeers.

AOIIAngel 10-24-2001 09:31 AM

No one has mentioned this, and I cant find them ANYWHERE any more, but I love Zero bars!! those are soooooooo good!!!

And that Blue Moon Ksigkid mentioned-that is good stuff!! Takes a drink or two to get used to, but sooo good(and strong) When I went to Florida my uncle bought me one, but i cant find it here!

SigmaChiCard 10-24-2001 09:36 AM

Sierra Nevada isn't awful, but close.
But a good Blue Moon with a big fat orange slice..mmmm

And last year, for the first time in my life...I saw pumpkin peeps...mmmm, you know, like the easter candy. I LOVE PEEPS!

carnation 10-24-2001 09:46 AM

Have you ever seen squirrel peeps? I've heard they exist, but have never seen them!

The1calledTKE 10-24-2001 04:40 PM

I have seen them but only on TV.

Dejajeva 10-25-2001 01:39 AM

-grins-

Blowpops.

aggieAXO 10-25-2001 03:13 AM

I liked the pop rocks but remember when you were little people said they will explode in your mouth and then kill you-I got so scared and stopped eating them. Is this true? Does anyone know of a death from Pop rocks???? Or was it another lie from the parents (along with Santa Claus, toothfairy and the easter bunny-who may I add never brought me a real bunny that I asked for year after year-need therapy for that one:D )
