I hope CONSERVATIVE BARBIE is "spying"

Even though I don't believe u when you say Ann [Evil Vampire] Coulter views this and other sites; I hope she is. I have never seen a conservative who is so out of touch with present day America. Ann Coulter lives in her own world and wants other Americans to join her. Her head is so far up her a*s that she should be tasting blonde hair with dark roots. If she should deside to venture out of Coulterland, back into the good ol' USA, she might realize certain conservative values are obsolite. The rest, have no business being part of mainstream politics. Those "core values" she always insists our generation has lost begin in the home, not in the voting booth, and not on cable news channels. I saw her recent spew of complaints, and the 15 min. she devoted to speaking out against gay marriage. How homosexuality is a choice, and a sin. Yeah, so. Lot's of things are sins, why does that particular sin outweigh the rest of our sins? It's God's job to judge, not ours. Personally, I'd rather live next door to a gay couple than a registered sex offender, or a paroled convicted murderer.
I usually laugh at her, but she really pissed me off with her Anti-Immigration rant. Here's my rant:
America is a country that was built on IMMIGRATION. We are all immigrants, whether the anti-immigration people like it or not. Unless you are Native American, SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY CAME HERE ON A BOAT FROM SOMEWHERE. (VOLUNTARILY, OR INVOLUNTARILY)

This is a common cliche` (yes, it has become a cliche`) of the past 10 years as a liberal response to conservatives.

However, it's a really silly cliche'. (Also, how did the Native Americans get here? hmmmmmmmmmmm....)

We can claim any idea/concept or law as faulty and unnecessary if we reach back to before the idea or law existed. ["What do you mean my daughter can't have a job at the age of 10?! Do you know how solid America was before child labor laws?! Your great grandmothers probably had jobs!!! Other countries don't shelter kids like we do!!! This is why kids are such lazy bastards in America!"]

America and Americans don't have to accept everything and everyone with no legal and normative restrictions. Legal and normative restrictions exist in every society.

More true than cliche

Ann Coulter is an idiot. America was built on immigration. The face of America is everchanging. She can't keep up and doesn't even try.

Yeah, the Native Americans migrated here via the bering straight. Anyone who passed fifth grade knows that. It was called into speculation in recent years because anti-immigration Americans (who are mostly caucasian) want to make America appear more like their own creation.

However, we need all the Ann Coulters, Sarah Palins, Glenn Becks, and Michelle Bachmans, at least for entertainment purposes.

Spammers, trolls, or sock puppets?

Hey. You people (not the spambots, but the weirdo posters appearing from time to time solely to spout of political opinion). Get a GD blog so we don't have to read your spew.

And those that made it into 6th grade know that it's the Bering Strait.

Now go away, heffa.

Plus it ignores the fact that many conservatives aren't "against immigration," but instead are against illegal immigration. There's a HUGE difference.

(Note: my comment should not be read as any support for Ann Coulter)

There is a HUGE difference but most liberal and conservative rhetoric is perceivably based on an "all or nothing" stance.

conservatives: "Keep them out of this country! Taking jobs and making me feel like I live in Guatemala now!"

liberals: "They need a chance to live the American dream, too! In fact, let's grant clearance for Haitian immigrants, even those who were here illegally!"

But c'mon, if we don't ignore that distinction, it becomes so much harder to paint conservatives as unAmerican Neanderthals ready to close the door on all of Emma Lazarus's huddled masses. You know that.

Liberals and conservatives are to blame for how they are portrayed.

They need to stop letting the loonies get most of their platforms.

What if the gay couple is composed of a registered sex offender and a paroled convicted murderer?

And by the way, that Playboy cover was photoshopped, in case you were too dumb to realize it.
This is the actual December 2006 Playboy cover.

I really hope the OP was smart enough to know that it was photoshopped.

Until people start believing the message and liberals and conservatives are wondering why they are being misunderstood.

Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I think most intelligent people are smart enough to realize that the Olbermann's and Limbaugh's of the world don't represent the majority of the respective political bases.

The misunderstanding comes from people who are on the far ends of the political aisle, i.e. the ones who really don't want to think about the shades of gray in ideology.

AGDee 02-10-2010 12:45 PM

In all honesty, I don't even think most of the extremists believe what they spout off. It's difficult to imagine that intelligent people (and there is no doubt these are intelligent people) can be so one minded. They do it solely to make money. I mean, sure they have leanings to the right or left, but they spout off the extreme stuff to be famous and make money. And, it works. I think of them as entertainers, not as valid purveyors of information. Do you really think Ann Coulter and James Carville could be married to each other if they were as extreme as they portray themselves?

The scary thing is, some people do think they are valid purveyors of information.

I wouldn't compare Carville to Coulter. I mean, Carville has that "campaign spokesperson" thing, but he's more well reasoned than Coulter and not as confrontational.

Also, Carville's married to Mary Matalin, not Coulter.

She's single; as far as I know she's never been married. I think I remember that she was dating a prominent NYC Democrat for a while, which is kind of funny.

Yes, you are too optimistic.

Moreover, "intelligent people" aren't the issue. Most Americans wouldn't be considered "intelligent" by some standards therefore most people who subscribe to political affiliations and ideologies aren't "intelligent." There are no education and aptitude prerequisites for claiming political and ideological affiliations.

Moreover too, most people don't research issues and believe whatever they see and are told someone of their affiliation should subscribe to. This means that they don't think about the shades of gray in ideology and will end up on the far ends of the political aisle (political aisles are dumb, anyway).

DrPhil 02-10-2010 01:27 PM

LOL

As much as the conservatives tried to promote Coulter as a sexy ball busting siren, which is definitely gendered, she's supposedly been engaged a couple of times but never married. I wouldn't care about that if she hadn't shared that info with the public.

You are INCREDIBLY annoying. You are new. You are either a troll or just plain spam. Your views are ridiculous and it seems that the only reason you have come to GC is to "bitch" that people don't share your same views. Guess what, I am a Conservative and I am very offended that all you do is complain about people and ideas without really contributing to a reasonable discussion. I am all for helping immigrants get residency status, if they do it legally (like serve time in the military-like many men and women have done during the course of the current war).

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy hearing the views of others. I don't expect everyone to share my views, but if you come on to the GC website and start spamming it with your ideas regarding politics and not contributing to ANY OTHER DISCUSSIONS on this site, you are pathetic and STUPID. Please go away!

It is times like this, I wish we allowed sterilization because starlitelady would be first on my list, probably with that new Delt guy that keeps spamming.

Yo mama's so hairy she looks like a Chia Pet wearing a sweater.

I stand corrected. I had heard "somewhere" that they were married and was pretty floored by the idea. Thank goodness that one wasn't true.
