Super Bowl Half Time Show
Questions linger...
Will any member of The Who smash his guitar? What will the guitar hit first? a) The Floor b) A Speaker c) The Mike d) The Drummer (who is the drummer now) e) A Fan How Many times will Pete Townshend do his windmill move? Will a Player moon the crowd? Will a fan streak on to the field? |
I only want to hear Carrie doing the National Anthem :o
|
Should be interesting to see if they still have it. And Benzgirl, were you asking who the drummer is now?
|
I know that Roger Daltry is at least 50% from concerts - I don't want to see them doing the Metamucial Tours like the Stones. :(
|
Isn't Zac Starkey (Ringo's son) still drumming for The Who? He's been with them for years now last I knew.

questions abound
Will I be smashed by halftime?
i don't think The Who will smash anything 'cause they're pretty old and the crew probably doesn't want to waste any time scooping up debris. super bowl halftime shows seem too choreographed for anything spontaneous like that. i'm not counting Nipplegate as "spontaneous." |
I LOVE The Who, so I'm kind of curious to see what happens. But I agree that it's the Superbowl and I'm sure that nothing too out of the ordinary will occur.
But if it gets TOO boring, I can always watch the Kitty Half-time Show from Puppy Bowl 2010! (I can't get over how f'n ridiculous that show is) |

Music - 9
Roger's Harmonica - 9 Pete's Windmill Move (sans throwing out the shoulder) - 10 Pete's Fist Pump - 2 (he looked like an old man) Vocals - 8 Roger sill has it. Wound have gone higher but I thought I once saw him lip synching. For those who went to Ohio State, do you remember the old Townsend Hall? Someone in the early 80s climbed on the roof and painted Pete before Townsend. Pyrotechnics |

This has to be the quickest game ever...started at 6 30 and done before the 10 o clock
|
Yep. All those years when Survivor had their premiere of a new season scheduled for "after the Super Bowl" and it didn't end up starting until like 10:45 and THIS year, when they don't do that, it ends on time.
|
I thought the whole thing -game, commercials, halftime -was a total snooze this year.
|
I thought it was a great football game. It was close, score went back and forth, up til the second half of the fourth quarter, it could have gone either way. Commercials were definitely not a big deal this year. Some of the companies who put the most into commercials in the past didn't have the cash or opted to do other things with that money (like Pepsi Refresh) this year. Personally, I've always found it a little ridiculous that they spent as much as they did on commercials for the Super Bowl.

Commercials=NOT funny. And tell me why I didn't remember that the CSI theme songs (at least for LV and NY) are from the Who? lol. Durrrrr. |
I think a 65 year old man sounds sort of silly singing "take a bow for the new revolution." But whatever. Who was that on drums?
This was a great game IMO. However, those etrade ads with the babies were the creepiest things ever and if I never see them again it will be too soon. Doritos weren't too far behind in the "yuk" sweepstakes. I also want to know why Budweiser has such good commercials and such crappy beer. |
I loved The Who. :) I acted like a fool during their finale.
My guy hated it and scoffed at their voices (they are much older--duhhhhh). I ignored his disgust and continued to act like a fool. :p |
I thought they sounded pretty good for being as old as they are. It was kind of strange to hear them singing about "Teenage Wasteland"
My teenage son said that maybe they were singing about their grandkids ;) |
I never ever thought I would prefer Bruce Springstien over the Who. I prompty removed all Who songs from my iPod after the halftime show because the illusion was ruined for me.
|
It really wasn't the Who that performed at halftime...it was more like "who's left." Concur that it was bit odd to have them singing about Teenage Wasteland. It came across as grandfathers griping about the younger folks, and it was just...odd.

This is the first Superbowl game i've watched in its entirety. I took the time to actually understand how the game works (the basic rules, not all the strategy jumbo, just enough to know when to appropriately cheer and boo) and it was all good. I too thought the game was short, though i credited it to me paying the game attention. None of the commercials stuck out to me as awesomeness. the funniest to me was the stupid auto-tune with T-Pain for Bud Light. there was a silly one with a beaver, and an even sillier one for Denny's (like, who really cares about some Grand Slam?). I too cant stand the Etrade babies. just weird. |
