Battle of the Singers (love edition) Barry White Vs. Luther Vandross Vs, Marvin Gaye

Got the idea from epchick, but a bit more old school. In that Context which do you think?

knight_shadow 02-05-2010 09:56 PM

Oh, damn.

This is tough.

I'm gonna go with Luther, though.

epchick 02-05-2010 10:00 PM

Pardon me for my lack of ummm......experience (lol)

I know he has more than that one song, but I can't imagine doing it to "dance with my father" in the background lol.

Marvin Gaye it will be.

Marvin Gaye it will be.

Listen to "If Only For One Night" then get back to me lol

But Marvin has some good music, too. The entire "I Want You" album is on point

KSUViolet06 02-05-2010 10:03 PM

Marvin.

Because I <3 Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell together.

I would have to say Marvin Gaye. He is the only person who can make begging for sex sound so good.

DrPhil 02-05-2010 10:32 PM

Marvin Gaye.

*splash splash*

33girl 02-05-2010 10:34 PM

Marvin Gaye. Hands down.

That's borderline sacrilegious.

That and other Luther songs like "Superstar" and "A house is not a home".

I've seen both Luther and Barry White performed live, but overall Luther Vandross is the best.

I appreciated it when I was a youngin. But I was fast when I was growing up lol

Benzgirl 02-06-2010 05:34 PM

I'm going to choose Barry. Why? Because everytime I hear anything remotely related to Barry White, I think of Ally McBeal and the dancing in the Unisex.

I remember that too. I was in high school and his oldest son was in my English class. We all felt so awful for him. It was such a shock. Never saw him again. Very sad.

Marvin's my pick. (and i would have gone with him even w/o knowing his son)
