Any Valentine's Day plans?

Is anyone doing anything special for Valentine's Day? :)

Kappamd 02-03-2010 09:27 PM

Well considering I have two exams the next week, I will be spending that weekend holed up in my apartment crying into my biochem book. Romantic, huh?

I am going to go visit my guy the next weekend, however, and we are going out to celebrate Valentine's day and our 5-year anniversary. Low-key, and that's the way I like it.

DrPhil 02-03-2010 09:45 PM

Going to our favorite vacation spot and eating lots of seafood. :D

I have a rehearsal camp this weekend with my drum and bugle corps. It's full of mixed feelings, but as long as I call my girl things will be good.

DaemonSeid 02-03-2010 11:11 PM

Celebrating my day....I haven't figured out what I want to do and plus I get a long weekend....

agzg 02-03-2010 11:46 PM

I think we might go back to the casino... last year was so fun!

VandalSquirrel 02-04-2010 01:00 AM

I have to work that day, but it is kind of just a day because we do stuff for each other whenever we feel like it. I'm thinking he will probably cook me dinner.

Brett 02-04-2010 01:03 AM

Probably getting a piece of ass, but I really haven't thought that far ahead.

dreamseeker 02-04-2010 01:11 AM

^^^ LOL

Not much probably staying in since it's All Star weekend here and ALLL the crazies will still be lingering, looking to party... And they got all the good hotel rooms and the prices are ridiculous!

GeorgiaGPhiB 02-04-2010 04:02 PM

Eating early (because I left the boyfriend in charge of making the dinner plans ... senior citizen discount here I come with dinner at 4!) and then mayber chapter.

Oh God, I don't even want to think about how crazy it's going to be that weekend.

My old apartment was a few blocks from the stadium. I'm glad I got out of there when I did!

WCsweet<3 02-04-2010 06:34 PM

Probably go to the beach. This weekend is KD's formal so we are going to that and next weekend I'm up in his town, so I'm not sure what the plan is... but knowing him, something will be going on.

groovypq 02-04-2010 06:40 PM

BF has to work on Vday itself. We're going to NYC the day before. Yay!!

AGDee 02-04-2010 07:39 PM

Let's see... I have a conference call for a special Alpha Gam project. I have a major group presentation and a difficult hands on activity assignment due the next day. My best guess? I'll be doing homework.

I haven't decided whether to acknowledge HD that day or not. I thought about making him another batch of home made fudge and mailing it like I did at Christmas. But, I think, since we aren't technically dating right now, I'm going to wait and see if I hear from him at all that day. He does have two hockey practices and two games that day. Ugh, one practice at 6:30 am! That's nuts. Dang, he has 5 games and two practices F-Sun this week. I don't know how he does it.

One of my Rush Class Brothers and I decided to be Valentine's (lol), so we'll see what we do. Then, I have a chapter meeting at night.

So nothing too special.. just another Sunday.

cheerfulgreek 02-04-2010 08:05 PM

I really don't know what we'll be doing. Apparently, it's a surprise so I guess I'll have to post afterwards.:(

But I love surprises.:)

I'll be spending it with my mama! And she's a huge chocoholic so I can see some co-enabling in our future...

joliebelle 02-04-2010 11:59 PM

Going to my boyfriend's for a long weekend, and making him dinner that night. Other than that, it's all up in the air

The Four Winds Casino in (God only knows where) Michigan. It was actually really really nice, we had a blast, had a great dinner at the buffet (LOL!) and ended up spending quite a few hours there. We took $60 each, decided to play until it was gone or we were tired (so we weren't expecting big money) and that lasted us for a while (at one point, I was up and probably could have walked away $10 richer but that really wasn't the point of the day).

We figured for a nice restaurant in Chicago we could have dropped $120 bucks easily, so why not go do something with it?

Ahh...I am quite familiar with Four Winds! It's always a fun time

I don't particularly believe in Valentine's Day honestly...and I still say that as I've been in a relationship for 3 years now.

My b/f and I met on Feb. 9th, and our first date was Mar. 6th, so we usually pick sometime in between to do something for our anniversary. It just happened to work out that the only weekend that worked best was Valentine's weekend.

So we are planning on leaving after I get off of work on Friday and driving to Savannah, GA and staying over night there. We'll walk around historic Savannah for a little bit before continuing on our journey to Orlando, where we will stay for 2 nights, and spending one full day at Disney. Then on Monday, we will leave Orlando, start our trek back up north to go home, but we will stop for our last night in St. Augustine, FL and go to the beach, and then continue the rest of the way home to Raleigh on Tuesday.

Benzgirl 02-06-2010 12:18 AM

I will be flying to Miami. Business...not pleasure.

Boodleboy322 02-06-2010 12:45 AM

St. Augustine

You will have fun in St. Augustine. If you are a fan of Ghost Adventures or Ghost Hunters then St. Augustine is a great place to visit. The oldest city in America, where Ponce De Leon once walked on, has one of the highest concentration of natural EMFs in the country. If you're solely on a romantic getaway then it's still a good place to visit. Make sure you visit the "Lover's Tree" while you are there and kiss. Supposedly, if you kiss under the lover's tree you will love the person forever. Funny thing but my wife and I went there a few years before we got married and kissed under the tree. Typically, this type of stuff is a little to lovy duvy for me but it was actually kind of cool. The tree is a palm tree that grew directly into a oak tree. Both trees have survived for years and neither has died. It's quite remarkable.

Valentine's Day is actually kind of special with my wife and I. I proposed to her on a Valentine's Day. I know I know - it's kind of cheesy but it worked.

Happy V-Day all.

Fraternally Yours,

Boodleboy322

No sulking around this year! A couple of my closest friends, all singles, are planning a fun-filled weekend of dinner, cocktails, movies, games, and spa treatments. By the time the weekend is over I should be too worn out to even notice or care that I don't have a "valentine."

Lasonja 02-06-2010 01:37 AM

Probably nothing. He's cheap like that.
