I found her mom on the database, but not the daughter.

There's a Wichita Alumnae Association newsletter on the web that says something to the affect of "Former Wichita Alumnae Association President's daughter was crowned Miss Kansas." It never mentions the daughter being affiliated, so I seriously doubt she is. Plus, like you said, she's not in the directory.

I think the tweet just got misconstrued.

There are at least three Kappa Delta's in the competition, Alabama, Florida and Michigan, but whoever claims Miss California, may well claim Miss America.... she is a very strong candidate!

Can someone explain the selection process? I thought I understood it. But, I am shocked at how few of the preliminary winners are in the finals.

Yikes - didn't much care for Miss Kentucky's arrangement of On My Own.

I feel like Miss America is definitely getting more contemporary. I HATED how the introduced themselves with the corny jokes. But I like that some of the talents are getting more modern.

I am rooting for Miss Hawaii for the sheer underdog factor.

I found it to be heartfelt, honest, and not some rehearsed, make-it-fit-your-question answer.
