Favorite trainwreck
Because I am extremely bored, I decided to post this. What was everybody's favorite trainwreck of a post on GC. Mine would probably be the guy who didn't trust his girlfriend because she wouldn't share her ritual with him.
|
I <3 myself and TanikaJ were my favs in recent memory.
|
My favorites are when members start talking about TEH CULT, The Triad or any AWESOME variation that involves mafioso type GC connections.
But clearly, we don't trainwreck the thread with that, we make the thread fabulous and entertaining. |
the twins with the sequined hose.
|
I must admit, I liked the rejectment thread. Some very clever GC'ers.

What is the Triad?
|
The Syracuse Triad: Alpha Phi, Alpha Gamma Delta and Gamma Phi Beta
|
*Sequinned hose twins.
*I failed my new member exam. *Any thread beginning with any variation of "I went through rush but dropped out because I'm super pretty and every house I had was full of ugly girls" Those are guaranteed to trainwreck. |

Any thread that starts off with "please be nice to the PNMs" or "why is everyone so mean to the PNMs?" or "stop stalking the PNMs." Any accusation that people are just being "sooooo mean" is guaranteed to trainwreck, as it should.

Ditto the sequined hose thread.

Also, to add to the list of trainwrecks: Any thread in which a GC tells another member any variation of "your posts don't represent *insert sorority here well* when they aren't even a member of "insert sorority here*. |

The entire thread did not become a trainwreck but part of it did a few years back.
It was in the Word Association Thread. Someone typed: Michael Jackson Next Person: Pervert Next Person: put the name of a now banned GC'er who was very long overdue for their ban Banned Person: posts angrily in his usual inane, drunken form I'm sorry but each time I think about that I laugh. I remember telling my husband about it even when it happened and he even thought it was funny. |

Speaking on PMs, you know a trainwreck is about to happen when someone busts out the classic "thank you for all the PMs of support" or "i've gotten many supportive PMs from GCers." |
Oh another one. The one by Maelynn1 asking how sororities could tell if somebody was already initiated somewhere.
|
I think it might have been in a GLO-specific forum (Pi Phi maybe?) but there was a mom who was crushed by her daughter not getting into that particular sorority. She went on and on about how great and smart and pretty she was. To make her point, she actually posted her daughter's PICTURE in the thread. I think the mods in that forum got to it before it could become too much of a trainwreck though.
*That one mom thread where mom said she was heartbroken and disappointed because her daughter got a bid, but did not get a bid to a top tier house and it embarrassed her. |

Also eaglesbaby/blondie20/the other 30 that she's come back and started but hasn't finished because no one was giving her attention because we know its her. ETA: Quote:

The littlemissvixen recruitment thread from Illinois.
She was "brutally honest" and made sure to include details concerning each house such as "these girls were overweight and had fake pearl necklaces." The thread quickly trainwrecked. lol. |
Double posting, but I have the links to the ones I was just talking about lol:
Disappointed "top tier" mom. lilmissvixen's recruitment |

ETA: Thanks for the link KSU. Yep, definitely the year I went through FR. And oddly enough, I did have a junior in my group........although I don't THINK it was her... |
Add to the list, any thread that says ANYTHING negative about retro rush threads!
The rush thread addicts take them WAAAAY too seriously and the thread will probably trainwreck. See this thread (posted during what was the FOURTH or so straight summer of retro threads). Most people don't get that people have been doing them for awhile and their story is not that interesting. http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...d.php?t=106083 |

I remember that one. I stepped away for a few minutes and came back to a TKO. Banned person always was good for a few laughs (and as a punching bag) |
Ahhh - I forgot about the "kitchen GCers" lol
|
Link to one of the "omg why is everyone sooooooo mean to the PNMs?" threads that got locked:
Why are PNMs constantly demonized here? |

Any thread with the OP having a bad case of founderitis. Also the threads were somebody either asks for or tries to share ritual info.
|
Many, many, many of the AI threads...however, these don't even come close to the trainwreck that was Gamma Chi. I often make bad decisions in my life; however, choosing to stay completely out of that HAM was the best online decision I have ever made.
|
That thread by Scandia who was all up in arms over a homeless man (or something like that) wearing a GLO hat and wondering what she should do about it?
http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...d.php?t=101690 She got offended when the answer was (generally) mind your business and don't be super rude. |

I mean, I'm pretty sure if you want a trainwreck, all you have to do is go into AI and scroll down a couple of pages (unless those got deleted). I wasn't around for Gamma Chi, so some of my earliest memories of trainwrecks are from the AI forum. |

The classic can't be beat:
The V's and Fred Hatchett |
I went back through my subscriptions and read a bunch of the aforementioned trainwreck threads when I was home sick and bored on Thursday.
Tanika or whateverherfacewas was pretty entertaining though. It had been a while since I'd seen a true trainwreck like that live. |
