The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love
Nice job ABC on the cheese-tastic tagline for this season.
Anyways, the Bachelor is back tonight with everyone's favorite pilot....JAKE! |
Well this sounds like it has the makings of the most dramatic season ever. ;)

Oh dear. I don't know whether I should cringe at the cheese or just smile & go along for the ride. But I'm confident that I'll watch regardless :D

Nice. At least we'll know there's some very honest love/lust going on. Even if they won't confirm whether they're still together.
Not that it can't happen on The Bachelor... I've just gotten more and more skeptical over the seasons. I mean, if Survivor has a better track record in weddings than The Bachelor? But The Bachelor sure is fun to watch regardless :D |

^^^As are Ed and Jillian (because they were just on the show, lol).
|
Does Ashley H, in the short blue dress, remind anybody else of Jillian? Even her voice sounds like Jillian to me.
|
Molly & Jason were quite the scandal though- not the typical Bachelor(ette) final rose & beyond. To have put up with what they have, though, means they might have some hope. Ed & Jillian have plenty of scandals too... so I'd be curious to see if either of those couples wind up actually married.
And no fair to those already watching. Silly time zones. Not that I'll get to watch it live thanks to the husband... but we'll see. |

Granted I love it, so I can't really complain. I was very...surprised by some of Jake's picks. |

And sure enough... |
I couldn't believe Vienna made it through. She was so annoying and ditzy to the put of being trashy. Plus her eyes weirded me out.
And Michelle the psycho?! Maybe he was scared if he cut her that she'd try to kill herself. ETA: Radaronline is claiming Rozlyn is the bachelorette who had the affair: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/118/story/1165946.html |

I really didn't like Vienna at all but I just found out she's a Kappa Delta. :o So far, I like Ali and Tenley for Jake. |
I like Tenley, too! Ditto on everything else you all said. Vienna is icky!!
|
I think Michelle was kept for the train wreck effect (producer's pick). It almost seemed to me that he was holding his nose as he offered her the last rose ;)
It was nice to see Ed and Jillian, I read that they were going to announce their wedding date on the show, but then told the producers that they wanted to keep it private for fear of the wackos coming... |

And ditto on not being surprised if it turns out Rozlyn had the affair. She looks the type, if that makes any sense. |
Poor KDs having to claim Vienna.. luckily she's not a reflection of your organization (or hopefully her chapter!) as a whole. :)
I'm not surprised by Rozlyn either, she seemed a little blase about the entire idea of the show. And definitely snobby. |
Yeah I was waiting for "the big announcement" as well, which never came. Not sure if it was a privacy thing (which I can respect) or delaying. Setting a date would help people (like me!) take them more seriously. I am not in the "they're faking it all!" category, but I have a healthy bout of skepticism in me.
Some non-ABC reports are saying that the producers exaggerated the Rozlyn scandal. They say she was upset that they wouldn't let her talk to her son daily as promised so she threatened to leave, and then they made this up to facilitate her departure. Based on that version there WAS a producer who was interested in her, but they never actually did anything. So they let the girls hypothesize on what had happened and that's when the sexual affair line came out. If only the girls ever refer to it like that & Chris stays generically neutral, this version might have some credence. Won't find out til next week! |
Holy god woman. ARE YOU SERIOUS? You don't think your personal life is anyone's business? You're on the BACHELOR. You hooked up with a staffer while trying to "find love" and you don't think that should matter?
Good riddance, what an idiot. |
Quote:
The "hookup" with a staff member is made up, fabricated and scripted, methinks. Kinda like how on Gillian's series, no one has access to the phone nor the internet and yet Ed gets "summoned" back to work by his employer? Sheeyah, right! Quote:
I call bull$hit on so many of the things that happen on that show. |
I'm not watching this, but I saw this article and snorted:
http://www.popeater.com/2010/01/12/b...a-rozyln-papa/ Cheated on, my heiney. Glad the writer called him on it. |

Let's also not forget who writes Chris' paycheque. I was LMAO when Chris said something along the lines of "Let's not forget what the true purpose of the show is" or something like that (i.e. to placate & "reassure" the girls). Yes: ratings and making Mike Fleiss rich. I've got to say, if I was Rozlyn, I would be angry as hell for the implied "sluttery" and I'd suing for defamation of character. |

Good job. You made a point that every tabloid show for the past two days has made. Kudos for your originality. I called it an affair because that's how the situation was being described before the show actually aired. Anyways, I still like Tenley. There isn't really anyone I truly hate at this point, save for Michelle. She seems to be the token crazy that's probably being kept around just for entertainment's sake. |

Yeah, Michelle is freaking NUTSO! She seriously has a totally different personality around Jake, and it seems like she tears up every time she talks to him. Can you imagine being in a relationship with her? Psycho!!
I think Ally is fun, but I don't know why Jake thinks she's SUPER amazing. I think some of those women just seem more like friendship material. Oh, and super glad Christina is gone. She was pretty whiney and had zero self-confidence. |
To me, Jake is just friendship material. He has no sex appeal at all (IMO), and it creeps me out to watch him trying to fake it with these women, who in large measure seem skanky and fake as well.
Ally and Tenley (?) are the exceptions and need to find love elsewhere - maybe their exposure on the show will help them out, they are certainly being edited as sweet and sincere. |
I'm so glad Michelle is gone!!! And Elizabeth was weirding me out, too.
I hope Jake realizes that Vienna is psycho. Oh, and btw, who the heck was Valishia?? It showed her going home, and I seriously didn't even remember who she was. Annnd last but not least, I feel like Ella is too good for Jake. |
Okay, is it just me or does Jake seem to be a terrible kisser??? I am not trying to gross anyone out, but the kisses just seem bleh. He doesn't move his mouth at all.
|
Resisted this show for so long, but it's on Hulu and I am addicted.
Jake is TOTAL "friend" material. I could not imagine dating him. I need a little edge, or cockiness, or sarcasm or something. He is just way too nice and happy. Bleh maybe that says something about me and the people I find attractive, but seriously. I have never really watched a season before, but I have to say I was much more impressed by Ed in the first episode (the guy who won last season?). I thought his sense of humor and vibe was totally up my alley...now wait for somebody to come out of the woodwork and inform me that he was a total tool haha! I love Ali, she is by far my favorite. OK, does anybody else get that type of feeling when they watch these shows where you think "rush crush" in your head when there is a girl you like?? I would have totally rushed the heck out of Ali! I think Gia is pretty and I think Tenley seems really genuine. Vienna, ehhh not my favorite but I can't say I really understand the hate. I think a lot of the hatred from the girls stems from jealousy that Jake seems to like her. Oh, and how awkward were the people laughing at the "dumb blonde jokes" at the comedy contest? They were laughing so hard at jokes everybody has heard, that must have been staged. |

This whole season has just been a trainwreck so far! People getting kicked off, whack-jobs getting sent home mid episode, fighting in the house, etc. etc. etc.
They should have gotten someone fresh and new. I knew Jake would be terrible. While he seems like a "nice" guy, I agree with you Aphianna, there's just no edge or sexiness to him. The whole thing just seems so forced. And about Ed, while he got a lot of crap last season because of off-screen hijinks, he seems to have truly landed the Bachelorette, complete with a new house for the two of them and wedding plans - and Yes, he's my type too (just don't tell my hubby ;) I can have TV crushes, it don't mean a thang!!) |
I think Jake is perfect! There are so many different reality shows on that showcase the bad boys, that it is refreshing to see a southern gentleman :) At least I am sick of the dating reality tv shows that feature complete sleaze balls. I would rather have a boring nice guy than a douche.
There are a lot of amazing girls, but I have to admit the drama around them is sooo funny!......and addicting! I found this compilation video of the Top 10 Bitchiest Moments from Episode 3 and loved it http://bit.ly/6SQsZH |
I can't believe he kept her! He was on such a roll getting rid of Ella (never liked her) and Kathryn (???). I thought he would hit the trifecta. But no. I have no idea what he sees in Vienna. It's a complete mystery to me.

Actually....
....I like Vienna :) and Gia. But I loathe Ali - she is a mean and catty beeyotch. Tenley is too weepy plus she seems catty too. Corrie seems kinda fake and stiff.
Jake is a nice, solid, upstanding guy - cute too. He seems like a lot of other airline pilots I know and in a way, he reminds me of my husband who also happens to be an airline pilot.:p |
I was at an Alumnae Chapter meeting tonight. Somehow the discussion came around to Bachelor, Biggest Loser and the up coming Amazing Race. When it was mentioned that Vienna is a KD, several of the older ladies almost had heart attacks, they were in shock. Someone else mentioned that if you dislike Vienna, you are going to have a field day with one of the gals on Amazing Race as she is suppose to be a "beauty queen" that is 3 french fries short of a happy meal.

Vienna is a beeotch and Ali is starting to sound like one, too. (even though I really, really liked her at the beginning). Tenley needs to stay away from the mean girl stuff that Ali has going about Vienna. True, Vienna is super irritating, but the whole "we hate Vienna, let's tell Jake about it" scenario is getting old. |
