I envisioned quite a few posts expressing said sentiment, and im sure the feeling will extend well past the turning of the New Year.

My name is tld221, and I don't wanna go to work. *waves to crowd*

FSUZeta 01-04-2010 10:44 AM

me neither(not wanting to be at work), and i am at work right now.

DaemonSeid 01-04-2010 10:59 AM

Back to work for the first time in ten days and STILL havent started anything yet. :)

WVU alpha phi 01-04-2010 11:05 AM

Back at work after a month of 3 day weekends and short weeks. Dreading the typical 40 hour work week again.

SydneyK 01-04-2010 11:13 AM

I didn't want to drive in the crappy cold weather, so I'm working from home today, getting this semester's syllabi all wrapped up. I'm teaching a freshman level Ethics class this semester and I've turned to GC as a place for ethics-related topics that are seemingly interesting to today's college crowd. So far, the story about the lady whose doctors tied her tubes (allegedly) without her consent is a top runner.

DaemonSeid 01-04-2010 11:22 AM

tld221 01-04-2010 11:23 AM

yeah... been here for an hour and have discussed everything i've predicted:

--"OMGZ it was so cold!"
--"i didnt do much this weekend, i laid around a lot"
--"OMGZ i bought these new __________, arent they cute?"
--"i ate soooooooo much over the break, i need to hit the gym..."

and all i've done is surfed GC and FB. i havent even perused my blogs yet.

DaemonSeid 01-04-2010 11:40 AM

it's cold...I'm warm.

XAntoftheSkyX 01-04-2010 01:05 PM

Ugh I'm scheduled to go in in 3 hours. It'd be one thing if I knew about it but being woken up to being told I need to go in at 3 isn't my idea of a good day.

WinniBug 01-04-2010 02:23 PM

School's been out since 10 am on Dec 18 and I'm not ready to go back to work tomorrow!! I've basically been a SAHM to my almost-9-mo-old for about 2 1/2 weeks and it's been great! I don't wanna have to wake up at 5:30 tomorrow morning! waaah! :(

Ok, I'm done acting like a 6 yr old. lol

DaemonSeid 01-04-2010 02:36 PM

OK...I got my clothes laid out for tomorrow!
Sigh.

I surrender

thetygerlily 01-04-2010 03:21 PM

I was ready to go back to work yesterday, to get out of the house (in-laws have been staying with us for 2 weeks so far, 1 week to go) and do something more mentally stimulating.

But this morning? I cursed my stupidity in setting the alarm 30 minutes too early, and my lack of recent practice in not being able to fall back to sleep for those precious 30 extra minutes. Damn me.... Of course one of the dogs decided an early wakeup call sounded awesome too. Thanks.

And I've attempted to be so productive today. I really have. But... I'm out of practice with that too.

I'm ready to go home now. But I'll wait 6ish hours instead, I suppose.

AOIIalum 01-04-2010 04:35 PM

I had to be up extra early since DH's car is in the shop. Headed into to work to find the copy machine wasn't shut down properly and told to fix it, other computers offline and told to fix it, and heard complaints when I couldn't fix any of it and had to call in the actual techs. Of course, I was already on vacation when the shut down the office for the holiday! They also keep forgetting I'm not actually an IT type but an Environmental Auditor type. So glad to be home now.

knight_shadow 01-04-2010 04:39 PM

I wasn't supposed to come into the office today, but I had a meeting.

Said meeting ended up lasting about 10 minutes. Now I'm just killing time on the interwebz.

DaemonSeid 01-05-2010 06:18 AM

Ok...it's time to go back.

christiangirl 01-05-2010 07:03 AM

I was gonna cyber-slap all of you and give you the "Be happy you even have a job in this economy, you forget those who are unemployed and wish they weren't" speech. But you've been spared, I got a job offer this evening--they really liked my interview and want me to start tomorrow. :)

Let the whining commence.

DaemonSeid 01-05-2010 08:02 AM

Good luck.

Punk.

AGDee 01-05-2010 08:05 AM

The irony is, I like my job. I like being at my job, most of the time. I don't like getting there. If I could work from home or had a very short commute, I'd deal with it better. The 1/4 mile walk from the parking lot to the building in the frigid cold doesn't help. If we could wear jeans and tennis shoes, I'd like my job even more..lol.

DaemonSeid 01-05-2010 08:08 AM

Well, with the past 2 jobs I had before this, I don't complain at all.

Nice pay.

Nice(ish) people.

Nice hours and commute.

Nope.

But I won't have any GCers trying to slap me...hehehe!

Still BLUTANG 01-05-2010 11:13 AM

this time of year i always kick myself for not getting remote start on the car. :(

Dionysus 01-05-2010 11:25 AM

You all need to get off your lazy asses and work, clean the trash from your yards, and take care of your kids. ;)

christiangirl 01-05-2010 02:24 PM

Now put your face it to the screen...

^^^ Cold blooded

PrettyBoy 01-06-2010 08:46 AM

I love my job, and I'm very passionate about it, but just like any other job, some days (like today) I just don't feel like going. Probably because it's Wednesday, and that's one of the days I have to teach right after I leave work. Damn, I'm going to be tired.

nikki1920 01-06-2010 09:55 AM

I refuse, RE freaking FUSE, to go through this shit with the supervisor assigned to me again. Yesterday she tried to insinuate that I was behind on my cases. Funny when I left I was current to this month. Even though she tried to claim that I had November cases in my "To Do" pile. So imagine her shock when I carried all 20 of my December cases and 2 November cases to her desk and asked her to point out the other Nov. cases she'd "found". Uh huh, thought so. BUSTED! AGAIN! Shut the hell up, worry about your own now 2 months overdue cases and leave me the hell alone. :)

Come on new job.

TPA85 01-06-2010 02:53 PM

All I can think about is how very little I want to go to work today (sick....again....). I got out of the shower a little bit ago and had a text from my boss. I was VERY MUCH hoping that it said "We have enough people here, don't bother"....instead, it said "What do you want your login code to be?" Guess I'm still going in :-\

Gusteau 01-06-2010 03:01 PM

Only 5 minutes left on my lunchbreak - my awesome ham salad sandwhich cannot console me...but I am off until Monday!

IlovemyAKA 01-06-2010 11:02 PM

I like my job, but I don't want to go to work. I'm tired. I thought I would get a break once classes let out, but I've been traveling a lot with my job.

epchick 01-06-2010 11:21 PM

I've been sick for a few days, but just now I got a stomach bug....great! I don't wanna go to work tomorrow, but I can't cancel it....booooo

AGDee 02-15-2010 08:02 AM

bumping because, well I don't wanna go to work, AGAIN. I wish I were just 3 or 4 classes further into this Masters because then I would feel prepared enough to find a new job. I really am burned out on this job. I dread going in every single day. This sucks.

midwesterngirl 02-15-2010 08:45 AM

I don't want to go to work today.Somebody gave me a good old fashioned head cold, haven't had one in quite awhile. It's enough to make me miserable but not enough to call in sick. Once they hear me sneezing and sniffling, hopefully my coworkers will just stay away. That will help make things much better.

DaemonSeid 02-15-2010 09:28 AM

tomorrow...I am almost ready to go back

SydneyK 02-15-2010 09:59 AM

I'm at work, and if this snow continues, I don't think I'll be able to get home. Thus, I'm hijacking this thread and calling it the "I don't wanna get stuck at work" thread.

IlovemyAKA 02-16-2010 12:41 AM

I'm tired of work. I've been averaging 12-14 hr days for the past 6 wks. I don't have time for homework or myself. I have just enough time to wind down by logging on for a few minutes, eat & sleep. I'll be glad when this audit is over before I pass the hell out.

DSTRen13 02-16-2010 07:23 AM

I just want tax season to be OVER. I want my weekends back to normal.

kddani 02-16-2010 07:26 AM

I'm 39 weeks and 4 days pregnant, due on Friday (even have my induction scheduled for next week in case she doesn't come). Does anyone really expect me to be productive at work? Really? Is it necessary?

bless your heart!! you should be at home with your feet propped up and people waiting on you.

good luck that the baby comes friday if not earlier! my first one arrived on her due date, the 2nd one was 2 weeks early, so it is possible. best wishes for a quick labor and a healthy baby!
