Have you met anyone off GC??

I searched and couldn't find a thread like this, so I hope its not a double of something out there already...

Has anyone met anyone in real life that they initially made contact with on GC?

CutiePie2000 and I have been emailing and talking on the phone since February 2001. Tho she was in Canada and me in California, we got to know each other so well it was hard to believe we'd never actually met!

Well, she left last week on a trip to Australia (lucky girl) and came through LA on her way-- we arranged it so she'd be here for 24 hours and we spent them together and she stayed with me and I am happy to report she is one awesome Delta Gamma woman! (Not that there was any doubt!)

I just love that I've met someone I can call a good friend through Greek Chat.

How about anyone else?

the talk before about me having a rendezvous with newbie kinda has me wanting to. hehe. newbie, you live in Cali, me in Ky...we could meet in Cheyenne, Wy for a little rendezvous...it's 19 hours, 58 minutes for you, and 20 hours, 13 minutes for me which is pretty damn equidistant. I'll meet you in Cheyenne Canon Inn in 57 hours cause that gives us plenty of time, and puts us there at a good time. see ya soon...hehe

If I'm not mistaken, the first ever GreekChat Convention is supposed to be held in Hawaii, right? LOL.

At this year's AGD Convention I met SIUAGD, JennyAlphaGam (one of our awesome LCs), agd4life, eliseagd, and agdsister. AGDLynn was there, but unfortunately I didn't get to meet her! I wanted to meet carnation and 12dn94dst since they're in the Atlanta area, but there wasn't enough time! :(

Well..considering they don't have everclear up in those parts (from what I hear)...I think that speaks for itself...

DeltAlum 10-22-2001 02:20 AM

SigCard and Newbie...

Been to Cheyenne. Take my advice. Go to Denver or someplace instead.

Cheyenne's a nice place to live, but I wouldn't want to visit there.

SigmaChiCard 10-22-2001 03:53 PM

yeah, but it's arbitrary really, it's a middle-ground meeting spot with a hotel for newbie and I to......um......meet.

No we don't have that as far as I know....but have you ever tried shine?? (Moonshine) Drink some of that and you won't even remember this everclear stuff that you speak of!!!
;)

As for supplying the Molson...of course!! We are Canadian...but out here it is Keith country (Alexander Keiths is a local beer) so we might have to mix it up a bit!!

Everclear is pretty much pure alcohol. 191 proof, 95.5% alcohol. Can't get too much stronger than that.

Yes indeed....moonshine ain't got nothin' on it! haha...but...I'd still pound anything with anyone..just for the fact of drinking and getting to know some ppl :)

Yeah the canadiens need to learn that their beer is not the best like they all think;)

SigmaChiCard 10-23-2001 12:22 PM

have you guys ever actually tried moonshine? One VERY SMALL sip and thought I was going to blow. Or Bookers...there's good strore-bought whiskey 146.5 proof, I think, and I know the guy it's named after.

damasa 10-23-2001 12:28 PM

yes..I've had moonshine a few times...but, it comes in at a distant second compared to Everclear. IMO

Have you had Everclear? I know it's not legal in quite a few states...don't know if it is legal where you are or not..

146.5 proof is quite high, but nothing compared to 191 proof. I have had moonshine and it is strong for sure but for sure a distant second to everclear. Bacardi 151 even beats that bookers stuff you are describing.

Lots-a-Heart 10-23-2001 12:46 PM

What to do, what to do

I think there is only one way to solve this everclear vs. shine, Canadian beer vs. American beer...meet and switch!! :)

Granted, it is more potent, for certain, but BAC 151 & Everclear aren't exactly sipping drinks, plus it's not whiskey (and we know whiskey is superior to all other forms of liquor) and MS isn't exactly store-bought and accessible, unless you're from the mountains of eastern Ky.
