Great thread, but I can't think of any that come to mind. Maybe others will bring some of them to memory.

Then there's that God awful Christmas song that goes "Last Christmas, I gave you my heart, the very next day you gave it away". A ton of different artists do their version of it. Not only does the song suck, but what a downer for Christmas! It was on the Victoria's Secret Christmas music rotation when I worked there, and I wanted to scream every time I heard it.

Lol, I'm listening to the Taylor Swift version of that song as I write this.

I hate maudlin Christmas songs, period! Why???? It's supposed to be a happy time!

The one I loathe most is the Christmas Shoes song. "Oh hey, my mom's about to croak! Merry Christmas!" :mad:

First, agree with AGD on how stupid that song is.

The song that annoys me the most is Santa Baby. Creepy.

Both of those songs, along with "Holly, Jolly Christmas" and "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree," are waaaaaaaay overplayed.

And a movie I can't stand..... 'White Christmas'

But it's only because my mom pulled one of those, "Oh, honey.. please watch this movie with me!" stunts when I was a kid.. over and over and over again. I can't tell you how many times I've seen it.

I've never seen A Christmas Story the whole way through, mainly because I was usually in a cable-free home on Christmas.

I love White Christmas. Though my favorite song in it has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas.

I have warned all of my friends that I will be packing heat, and will shoot out any radio/pa system/whatever that plays that. They also know that I'm not kidding.

"Little Drummer Boy" is the one I detest - although not as violently as in years past.

Why do so many people hate Little drummer boy?

Count me in for the Christmas shoes song, seriously who thought that would be a good idea?

I also loathe the U2 "feed the world" yadda yadda song for similar reasons. First of all, there will not be snow in Africa this Christmas, but there never has (except perhaps on the peaks of Mt. Kilimanjaro) so I don't think they'll miss it. Second of all, I loathe people reprimanding you for being a bad person via song. How do you know I don't work to stop world hunger? Stop yelling at me Bono!

Count me in the hating Little Drummer Boy camp. And I'm not sure why I don't like it - maybe because I feel like it has no melody? I can't pin down a reason, I just really don't like it. Though I did like it when Angela performed it on The Office :)

If it mentions Jesus, I will tolerate it. I went to Christian school and I remember the librarian and my friend's mother, who happened to teach at the school, singing "Little Drummer Boy" together in harmony during library time. I was really impressed and will never forget it. We did a Christmas program every year so I LOVE all the Christian Christmas songs by default and know most of them.

"Christmas Shoes" has got to be the worst. It's a crap message and on top of everything else, it doesn't rhyme.

I love A Christmas Story and I don't care who knows it.

I also like all Christmas Songs (except the Christmas Shoes one) for about a week, then I tire of them and turn on the iPod.

We love that movie too at our house. I have seen several lamp leg replicas this year as well. I'm quite tempted to buy one, stick it in my window and see which neighbor would be the first to complain about it.

But Rudolph and Santa is coming to town are classics!! :)

How is it that "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" not been mentioned yet? Worst song ever! Not only are the lyrics totally stupid, but I detest any song that has an adult singing who is pretending to be a kid. If you want the sound of a kid singing, then hire a kid. (preferably one without a speech impediment, but that is a different rant for a different day)

Now A Christmas Story? I love that movie and watch it several times each year. It gets funnier ever single year.

The Christmas Shoes song is so gimmicky - and the sad thing is that it's mostly done by Christian artists. Then again, there are some pretty gimmicky Christian artists as well - Steven Curtis Chapman's Cinderella for example - it begs to be in the cheesiest wedding video you've ever seen.

I did like A Christmas story (esp. the Chinese rest. scene) but got extra tired of it.
