Tamala Jones would be a good one.
Can we get a Rosa Parks?:)

Steeltrap 10-14-2001 10:29 PM

How about Susan Fales-Hill, producer of A Different World? Interesting child of interesting mother, Josephine Premice, who co-starred with Lena Horne on Broadway in the 1950s.

korkscru 10-15-2001 12:00 AM

My picks would be Jill Scott, Brian McNight, Faith Evans, Sanaa Lathan, Greg Mathis, Judge Judy, and Angela Bassett.

I'd love to see Lena Horne too. She projects a strong positive energy.

CrimsonTide4 06-09-2003 09:50 PM

I really enjoyed learning more about Chaka Khan tonight. Have not been a Chaka conoisseur so a lot was very eye opening.

RedefinedDiva 06-10-2003 02:51 AM

It was really good. I never really was into Chaka like that, but now, I'm cool. I really became a fan when I saw her Diva Duets. (That show turned me on to some folks, like Beyonce and turned me OFF to Ashanti. Mary kind of got on my bad side...) Anyway, Chaka sounds the same all the time, live or recorded. That's how I can tell a true artist. She is alright with me now.

AKA2D '91 06-10-2003 11:49 PM

Chaka has always been my girl. It's a wonder she didn't reveal that she doesn't remember alot (from the past) because of her drug habit.

Do you all remember the little group her daughter Melini had? I remember Chaka had them on Video Soul with Donnie one day. I can't remember the name of the group, but it had something to do with pink. Was pink in the title of the song?

I can't wait until Essence...

According to http://www.chakakhan.com :

Chaka’s daughter Milini has seen success as the lead singer for Pretty in Pink and is about to embark on a solo career.

NOTE: I'm not sure when this site was last updated.

I mess the Chaka Khan "IP". But what, I thought after the unplugged album, she was getting herself together.

AKA2D '91 06-11-2003 03:55 PM

That's success!

Gina1201:

I'm laughing at the way it says "has seen success". I guess since they only had ONE Album and ONE video....THAT'S SUCCESS. That was the name of the group, but that was AT LEAST 1988, 89ish or before then (I know I wasn't in college). I think they were out when that group Small Change came out.

txdiva 06-12-2003 03:27 PM

That is funny, being that the album and the single didn't do too well. I'll admit, I had Pretty In Pink's album and I actually liked it! I think it came out around 1991.

AKA2D '91 06-12-2003 11:26 PM

You could be right. It could have been 90 or 91. :o LOL, you bought it! haaaaaaahahahahaha!
