I AM 2(lol)!!!! I loved it as a kid in the 80s. The show was kinda shortlived. I'm excited to see what they are going to do with it on a different network and with Morris Chestnut's fine self in the mix. Does anybody know if they are still going to turn into lizards?
|
Looks interesting..i might tune in!

I saw the pilot episode at Comic Con...it was interesting. I believe I heard they did some re-shoots, so not too sure if what will be shown, I will look at it again.
I loved the show in the 80s |
I'm looking forward to it!
|
I am also a fan of the show from the 80s. Wasn't it just a mini series though? I wonder if Marc Singer will guest star? (always had a crush on him)
|
It was two miniseries AND a tv show (only on for one season though).
|
Okay what exactly is this show supposed to be about?
From the previews I gather that an alien craft comes and "parks itself" over NYC. They "claim" they are here in peace... Obviously there has to be some sort of "conflict" otherwise the show won't last, from the original show (miniseries and tv) what was the "conflict"? Was it just the human race being skeptical (which I can totally see us doing)? |
The original premise was that the aliens came "in peace" but were really here to steal our water and eat us.
The aliens used the media to manipulate the public intro trusting them, and discredited scientists -- the ones who were most likely to uncover the trust. It was a World War II/Nazi Germany allegory. The new version is supposed to be about the loss of personal liberty and homeland security. |
It looks interesting, and I actually remember a episode of SG1 about more or less the same thing. I'm conflicted though because it is on the same time as NCIS.
|
This is it! Tonight is the night for V. I'm excited.
|
Me too cant wait!!
|
Crap I have no idea which one ot watch, V or NCIS.

The thing is, I know for a fact I like NCIS but don't know about V.
|
Just watch the first 15 minutes of it. You'll know within the first 10 minutes if it's something really worth watching.
|
Yeah but I'll miss the first 10 minutes of NCIS.
ETA: Then again I can probably catch the other one on Hulu |
This is the SERIES PREMIER of V!!!! You HAVE to be part of history!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/tiptone/ani2.gif ETA: Sorry yall...thumbs down on this one...they managed to take the first two original mini series and sum it up in 40 mins. GGrrrrr |

I knew someone was going to post this. Obama was the first person I thought about when "Universal Health Care" was mentioned. I loved it. But only an hour? I thought it was going to at least be two hours.:( |
I did not see the original, but I thought this was good. Not sure that the three month hiatus will keep me tuned in when March rolls around, but I was definitely impressed.
|
I watched, not sure what I think yet. I wasn't that bowled over - like I've been with Flash Forward (heck of a good show). The last 15 minutes got better, faster paced. I'll give it another chance.
|
I liked it! I, too, LOVED the original in the 80s. The special effects will be even better this time around and I still find little Scott Wolf yummy so I'm glad to see he's back on a big show.

I watched it and actually enjoyed it, but there was a lot of political agenda in there. I felt the plot moved ahead rather quickly (the acceptance of the Visitors, their demands, etc.), but in a pilot you want to tell as much as story as you can.
If I remember correctly, the original ended with an inter-species baby with a crazy tongue. Is that right? That image creeped me out for years! The dude from "The 4400" kept making me think that I was watching that show (hated it but hubby loved it). He has the same mannerisms, demeanor, etc. Same thing with Juliet from "Lost". When you identify an actor with a particular character, they need to do a bang-up job to make you forget. Hopefully, as time goes on, they'll grow into their parts. |

Well, there were two babies, one regular baby with a forked tounge, and one mostly alien baby who died shortly after birth. The humanoid baby aged quickly, and was like 6 at the end of the miniseries. Basically, because of the alien baby's death, they were able to find a toxin that was deadly to the visitors. The resistance mass produced it and launched hundreds of hot air balloons that contaminated the atmosphere. Diana attempted to launch the LA mothership's doomsday device, but Elizabeth (the humanoid alien twin) had some mystical powers and deactivated the device. Diana escaped and starred in V the Series. (The toxin stopped working!) |
