YAY for Recruitment Stories- Santa Clara University and Oregon State!
 

Hey Ya'll, So coach high school cheerleaders and this year I have 2 alumni going through recruitment starting Monday! One is at Santa Clara University and the other at Oregon State. I'm super excited for both girls. I already have one alumni in her 4th year in Alpha Phi at Santa Clara and they were "cheer sisters" in high school. As for Oregon State there is hope for an AGD sister. I have sent in her rec letter :) And there is a chance both girls could end up sisters as the schools have a few of the same chapters. So basically I'm exicted and cant wait for all thier updates!

Oregon State started today. There was orientation and chapter visits. There are 10 chapters at Oregon. Tonight she went to 5. She really loved the girls in 1. and absolutley loved the philanthropy in another. She had her favorites but she knows she has 5 more tomorrow.

I thought that SCU eliminated GLOs years ago?

Nope. if that was the case, they would not have just added Kappa Kappa Gamma
GLOs are not recognized by the university, but they are there...in full effect

So I am so happy there is an OSU story. We took a field trip to visit the KD chapter up there and practice together for recruitment. Their Greek housing is amazing! I can't wait to see what happens! I actually know two girls going through there right now, but I don't know how much I will hear from them.

So I didnt get a full report but Oregon States text me with her top 5 and Alpha Gamma Delta is in it! We are still in the running ;)

Santa Clara had an info night last night and Open house is tomorrow.

Ugh, I'm bummed I can't go to Open House. I think there are two days of open house and the girls have to go to one or the other.

I hope the Kappa house is done-ish! They've been working on renovating it all summer, and the girls only moved in a bit before school started. I was helping with landscaping over the weekend, but the porch and the backyard still need work. Oh well, I'm sure it'll be ok! ;)

So Santa Clara acutally has open house tonight, she has been texting me all morning saying "she needs to get ready for rush" haha, shes precious. She also just made the cheerleading team (so proud) and a few of the girls are in a chapter so shes even more excited. BTW SCU cheer isnt that demanding, its not like teams in the midwest or south. Lucy will you be there tonight? Maybe you will see her ;)

Oregon State had the last night of orientation last night and I belive she has house visits tonight. She had to input her top 6 last night.

I know some amazing women in the greek system at SCU! I know who I'm rooting for :)

I can't go tonight because of the San Jose Alumnae Assoc meeting. I'll be there on Saturday and possibly Friday.

So the girls were both texting me throughout the night with updates.

Santa Clara has 4 houses. Alpha Phi, Delta Gamma, Kappa Alpha Theta and Kappa Kappa Gamma. She had nothing but great things to say about all but absolutely loved 3. They have sisterhood and philanthropy rounds this weekend with preference on monday and bid day tuesday. She has a feeling of who she will be putting as number 1.

Oregon State got invites back to 4. 2 of which were in her top. No AGD though :( She loved loved loved the 2 that were top, and she goes to the others tomorrow. I belive bid day is Saturday.

I love getting the updates daily from them, I cant wait to see where they both end up.

Isn't that a weird schedule? I thought I read it wrong when I was first signing up for a shift, but that's how they do it there.

So last night Oregon State went to the final 2 parties. She enjoyed them but they werent her absolute favorites. Tonight is Pref and she got invites to her top. She is at her first party right now. She really likes both so we will see what the outcome is tomorrow. Its down to Kappa Delta and Tri Delt.

I'm sorry I mean Kappa Delta and Chi Omega. I know Tri Delt was in her top but she ended up really likeing Chi Omega as well. Just got a text saying both pref parties were so good and its a hard desicion. She did not tell me who her number 1 is, so I will be anxiously waiting. Bid Day is tomorrow at 10am!

YAY! Go Alpha Kappa chapter!

Oregon State is a new KAPPA DELTA!!! I dont know the complete details but I did get several texts throughout the day saying how happy and exicted she was. So congrats to her!

So I have one in Kappa Delta and she is in Love with them. I get text messages all the time about how much fun she is having and how much she is loving her new Sorority!!

Santa Clara got invited back to 3 out of the 4. She really lovessssss all 3 but 1 "hit it out of the park" Tomorrow is pref!!!

YEAH BABY! My girl went DG, but I am so happy she stayed with recruitment. She is totally happy there too, so it is even better.

Yay! I know they get their bids at 6:45 tonight. That's still 5 hours away! Oh and it's POURING here, btw. I heard it's actually hailing in Santa Clara. (I'm about 20-25 minutes away.)

Yea the weather was pretty crazy here in the bay area today, hopefully that didnt damper any bid day plans but I know the girls will be excited either way and it Looks like Santa Clara and roomie will be putting up a big D and G tonight! They both got bids to DELTA GAMMA!!!! I cant wait to hear all about it and see al the pics! Yay for recruitment stories, cant wait til next year hopefully i will have more going through rush!

I heard quota was 40. I know how many bids Kappa extended, but I won't say in case not all were accepted. I'll post results when/if I hear them.
