It's "Phi Gam!" NOT "FIJI."
 

I did not spend an entire semester of my college career being "educated" to be a worthy brother for us to call ourselves "FIJI!" The only chapters of Phi Gamma Delta where I have visited and enjoyed myself, are ones who proudly go by "Phi Gam." I have yet to visit a Phi Gam house with brothers who wear "FIJI" hats, "FIJI" T-Shirts, or bumper stickers, that could present at least one member who would be capable of completing even half of the pledgship that real MEN endure in order to become a true brother of Phi Gamma Delta.

The phrase "FIJI" is dead. Phi Gam is a fraternity, not a fucking club! Limit bids to legit heads. While the chosen are pledging, make them earn it!

Fiji is all over your national page, mensa. I suggest if you dislike it, you should have pledged another fraternity.

Just because a NICKNAME (not even full name, I might add) is not made up of Greek letters does not it any less legitimate of a Greek organization. You don't see me flipping out when I heard Alpha Xi Deltas being referred to as "Fuzzies". I don't like that nickname, but I know it's just a nickname and it by no means cheapen what my organization stands for and what it means to me.

Stop being that guy who puts importance on such arbitrary things. Absolutely nobody likes that guy.

I'm guessing "thegoods420" is from a chapter who doesn't like their Nationals and wishes their chapter would secede.

We had the Greek God/Goddess Pageant for Greek Week tonight. I saw in a guy in a FIJI sweatshirt and lol'd cause I thought of this thread.

Yeah but isn't Fuzzies kind of downplayed by the A Xi D national office? Fiji is pretty much the exact opposite. I mean not that I agree with him busting his big boy panties over it, but I didn't think A Xi D included Fuzzies in new member materials, PR etc.

My crappy day just got a little better, thanks to this thread! To the OP, I say, call yourself whatever you want, but I suggest you get over yourself and the distinction without a difference.

DH has been "proud to be a FIJI" for decades. He's from a very old and respected chapter with some very famous graduates who wave the FIJI flag proudly. FIJI is dead? Go back into the history book and remind yourself why your GLO has this nickname in the first place.

Isn't the Fiji nickname older then some fraternities?
