Kanye West Interrupts Taylor Swift's Speech at MTV VMA's

Kanye West has officially lost it! While at the 2009 MTV VMA's Kanye rudely interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for 'Best Female Video' by grabbing the mic from her and acknowledging Beyonce instead.

Beyonce was up against Taylor and lost, which clearly angered Kanye.

Kanye grabbed the mic from Taylor and said, "Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you , I'm going to let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time...one of the best of all time!"

The audience then booed him until MTV cut to a clip. Unbelievable! You would think a 32-year-old man would know better than to insult a 19 year-old girl, but Kanye clearly doesn't.

According to MTV.com, once cameras cut away from the action, West flipped off the crowd and returned to his seat.

It should be up on YouTube soon, but Beyonce won Best Video of the Year and turned the mic over to Taylor Swift. I thought both ladies handled it very well and with extreme class.

Where the hell did he pop out from?! I didn't even see him get on stage.

That totally was not cool.

I am NOT a Swift fan -at all- ... in fact, every time her songs come out on the radio I change the station...but he shouldn't have done that.

The look on her face was just shock and awe. Kanye is a total jerk for that. especially since he didnt win anything he was nominated for. Im glad Taylor got her moment.

That was really classy. I'm not a fan of Country music, so not found of Taylor Swift, but that was an incredibly immature thing for him to do, especially with how happy she was.

Kanye is such an idiot. He embarassed both of those ladies (Beyonce looked one part flattered, three parts humiliated) and they both bounced back from it very well. Beyonce was extremely classy and generous to share her spotlight with Taylor and kudos to Taylor for not sinking to Kanye-bashing.

Beyonce actually looked quite mortified when they panned to her in the audience, as though she was thinking, "Shut up you idiot, you DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME".

This made me happy - it's nice to see that the repercussions were swift:
"Kanye's been banned from the stage and his scheduled performance has been cancelled."

He need to learn a lot about graciousness and humility.

WOW. That was so mean hearted. On the other hand, Beyonce is a class act x100 for what she did for Taylor by giving her a second chance at an acceptance speech, that was such an unbelievably classy gesture.

I think what he's trying to say is that Taylor Swift is to country music what Good Charlotte is to punk...a much more watered down version that has broader appeal to people who aren't aficionados of the genre. I would agree with that and I LOVE Taylor...although thanks to my dad I'm more of a Cory Morrow type of girl (even being from California haha).

^Definitely.... I HATE hate hate country music but some of Taylor Swift's songs are super catchy and I like them a lot. It's more pop IMO.

Taylor is definitely more pop than country. I love country and she's okay but honestly I'd much prefer more of a true country, not stuff that gets played on kiss fm.

Beyonce was truly a class act though, polar opposite of Kanye.

I dislike Beyonce, but I have to give her respect for handling the situation in a classy manner and letting Taylor Swift have her moment.

Taylor is country, just a different kind. I mean, she is nominated for Entertainer of the Year (and three other awards) at the CMAs along with Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, and George Strait. If they're not country, I don't know who is.

I LOVE Taylor Swift. I have been a huge fan for a long time not only because of her music, but because I like her as a person. She seems to be truly appreciative of what has happened to her, without letting it go to her head. There is a video going around of her with her mom and friend watching the CMA nominations, and the raw emotion she expresses makes it clear how thankful she is.

It was nice to see that Beyonce allowed Taylor to give her acceptance speech during her win for Video of the Year. Truly classy and gracious.

I heard a DJ this morning say he wished Kanye would have done that to someone like Pink because Pink would have kicked his ass into next week.

I think that would have been entirely appropriate. Taylor Swift is too much of a sweetheart, though. I think Kanye knew he could get away with his stunt with her.

During her acceptance speech, she just finished saying how much she always wanted a moonman, and how it was a dream come true. Then this jackass gets up and craps on her moment. WTH? Where was security? They should have told him to sit his ass down.

That's what I don't get. MTV should realize by now that they need security at all the stairs so randoms can't get up on stage. Then Kanye would have been shut down before he even stepped foot on the stage.

I've been saying this. He is definitely going through a rough grieving process, and he seems to really be in the anger stage. He needs to get some therapy because I suspect he isn't really fully dealing with his feelings over her death. So sad.
