Wow. I forgot about this.

I knew they were doing the "short" models this time. Didn't know it was starting so soon, though.

Tyra really thinks she's going to recreate the supermodels from her era (Claudia, Cindy, Naomi, etc). Not gonna happen, but the show should be interesting, nonetheless.

As are so many other things from our youth (we're close to the same age, right?).

I think Tyra just wants to be created with finding the next "it" girl and it isn't gonna happen. It's sad that the work most of the contestants can get is working the 'runway' on her show. And some of those girls (i.e. Renee) needs to just give it up and focus on their family.

I know a couple of the girls have done well (Eva, YaYa, Tocarra, and a few others), but none of them are at the Supermodel level that Tyra is trying to get them to attain. It's cool that's she's using her celebrity to give up-and-comers a chance, but that time has come and gone.

And yea, Renee needs to give up. It hasn't happened yet, and her fucked up attitude is going to prevent it from happening

That is true, although granted they wouldn't have gotten the success had it not been for ANTM, most of those girls you mentioned aren't successful for modeling. Yaya is more known for acting, and Tocarra as a host for some BET shows. The only ones that I have seen still modeling are Eva, Danielle and Jaslene.

I think it's kind of ironic that Tyra and the judges always say they aren't looking for commercial models, that they want high fashion runway girls....yet once the girls leave the show, the commercial stuff is all they can get (if even that).

No Amber, afterall. :) I knew she was too loony to be true.

A lot of the non-winners have done pretty well in working runway and for more high fashion magazines (especially from the first 3-4 cycles).

I am so glad that obnoxious Amber girl didn't make it after all. I was a little surprised the pretty blonde didn't go through (Ciara?). The red haired girl reminds me of Heather...she seems like she might also have a form of autism. Bianca reminds me of a cross between Nena and the other Bianca...I won't be sad to see her go (eventually).

Initial impression...I like Bambi-eyes, Crutches, Erin, and Lisa.

I like Rachel. I have a thing for big eyes (ie. Alison from last cycle). They make for interesting pictures.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't miss Amber. :)

Tyra is so excited to show off how much weight she's lost. More power to her, you can tell she's lovin' it. I love Laura, she's such a goofy Kentucky girl. I also love Sundai's face but not her posing. I'm glad there are girls I actually like this cycle because I still can't get over Cycle 11. I don't think I really like anybody that season and I'm still afraid it might happen again!

When I said Lisa before, I thought "Lisa" was the Asian girl.

Not surprised to see the real Lisa go...if you're brought back, you should have an extra umph. Looking forward to seeing who gets let go next week at the Wilhemina casting.

I wonder if Jesus told not to do it?

Danielle is modeling in the current edition of Essence. Tyra looks good w/ the weight loss.

I'm shorter than ALL of them.:(

Also, Tyra needs to quit attempting to act, because she can't. At all.

I like the Country Girl that posed with the baby. Hate Bianca...and even though she was bottom 2 this week, she'll be around for awhile because they like that bald doe-eyed look.:rolleyes:

The country girl (what was her name???) was pretty good, plus she has a good personality. "Let's go to the mall!"

And it looks like Bianca is going to be the Cycle 13 bitch. Boring. We've seen her look 2-3 times in previous seasons.

Laura--She's my fave right now.
We've seen a lot of these girls before. I kept noticing that all night. Bianca looks like Nnenna (and acts like a combo of Bianca, C9 and another girl from C5 who was pissy on set). Courtney's eyes look just like Eva's from C3 but her haircut is very Kim from C5. Laura reminds me of Kahlen from C4. Bambi eyes reminds me of Lluvy from C4 but much more talented.

I didn't watch the show, but I saw the portfolio picture on the website.

All of them look short in their pictures. I agree with KSUViolet -- I'm not sure what kind of work they'd get if they are AND look short. LOL @ Tyra getting their hopes up...

Wasn't Eva relatively successful after the show? (Empasis on "RELATIVELY" - meaning we've actually see something of her after the show) She was only 5'4".

Just made it halfway through the first episode...ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED that Ciara did not make it. I thought she was the prettiest girl they've ever had on...like ever!!! Okay, I'm avoiding the rest of the comments and finishing the rest of the episode... lol

The minimum to be on the show (with the exception of this cycle) is 5'7". Eva is 5' 6.5". There was kind of a stink about it because she only made the cut if you round up, but I don't think anyone found out really until after she won. :rolleyes: Oh well, she's done pretty hugely compared to the rest. I just saw her in an Avon catalog a couple months ago, so she's still working. LOL I love her to death but she's getting married to the actor I had a crush on so I hate her just little bit, too. :p

HAHAHAHAHA Tyra is a FOOOOOL!!! That whole "smize" thing was ridiculous, but I have to admit, she has a gift for teaching. The girls looked awesome and they all mastered it fairly well. Brittany's eyes blew me away.

Can someone deflate Bianca's ego? Please??

I know I'm getting really sick of Tyra. I know someone has already mentioned it in this thread, and I've heard it mentioned many other times, but all these themes are getting old. Although there were things I didn't like about the first cycle, one thing I admired was that I felt as though it was giving the contestants a look at what the modeling world is REALLY like (at least moreso than the new cycles).

And Bianca needs to go. I thought for sure it was going to be Jennifer. You can always tell who is going to be eliminated because they focus on them a lot throughout the episode.

I don't think they'd want to be seen as eliminating someone for a mini-deformity.

I was sooooo sad to see Bambi-eyes go home. Biance makes me want to choke her. Brittany's a better model than I thought. Laura's soooo funny, I love her. Posing with a horse was straight up her alley.

Yeeess true, but casting agencies don't have to keep their ratings up. ;)

I agree with what has already been said...
- I was bummed to see Bambi-eyes go home
- I wish Tyra would stop making the show about her crazy antics and focus on the modeling
- I wish they would cut girls that need to be cut...or just don't take them in the first place if they don't have a real chance
- Bianca needs to leave...she should have been cut when she copped the same attitude two weeks in a row

I love certain aspects of the show - the photo sessions and challenges - but Tyra herself has really become the human manifestation of nails on a chalk board. I used to like her when she was on "Fresh Prince" and in VS, but now....meh.

What has to go - "Fierce!", this season's "How DARE YOU", and the painfully contrived desire to create a catchword - "Smize".

I just DVR and fast forward through a lot of that goofy stuff now.

I haven't been watching, but is this supposed to refer to smiling with your eyes?

Yeah...the way in which she's trying to turn it into a catchphrase reminds me of the scene in "Mean Girls" when Regina tells Gretchen (who keeps saying "that's so FETCH!") "STOP TRYING TO MAKE FETCH HAPPEN".
