DJ AM has died
 

Cops tell us DJ AM -- also known as Adam Goldstein -- was found dead this afternoon in New York City.

Oh goodness. R.I.P. :(

The "celeb" death toll for 2009 has been crazy so far. :( This summer alone has been hit hard.

#2 - Dominick Dunne
#3 - DJ AM

I was my understanding that he was a recovering alcoholic. It's not uncommon for them to have relapses, especially with drugs.

Dominick Dunne died!?! Geez, where have I been?

He died the same day as Senator Kennedy.

This is sad, especially in light of his obvious guilt over surviving the plane crash.

Awww that's awesome. When I was in Vegas, AM was the DJ at Rain. He didn't stay the whole time, but it was probably THE best time I had in a club ever. Not sure if he was a regular DJ there or just a guest DJ, but I would have gone to any club he was DJ'ing at.

True...plus he lived through a pretty traumatic event, which probably didn't help. I give a lot of credit to people who recover and are able to avoid relapses, it can't be easy.

He was Nicole Richie's BabyDaddy, right? (Or is that someone else I'm thinking of - I'm having a stupid moment).

He's her ex-fiance` and Mandy Moore's ex.

That's right. My brain just needed a kick, but I knew he was linked to Nicole at one point.

And they are expecting a second child. I thought they are married.

I think I keep getting her life mixed up with Ashley Simpson's.

Yes, he was the resident DJ at Rain. I know he had other places where he'd DJ regularly in NYC and LA too. Occasionally he'd go to clubs in places like Easthampton and AC.

Final Destination was my first thought, too, when my hubby told me about it.

So sad. Perez Hilton told me (aka I stalked his Twitter) that DJ AM did an Intervention type show recently, but it has yet to air. Now, more than ever, they should air it :(
