I hope this keeps him out of the Hall of Fame. Or at least severely delays his election.

minDyG 08-18-2009 01:43 PM

Ridiculous.

There is no way this keeps hiim out of the Hall of Fame. The only thing he could do on the football field that would keep him out of the Hall is if he pulled out a gun and shot someone on the field. He deserves to be inducted, and he will be when he (finally) retires.

Congrats to ESPN though...after two years of routinely getting beaten by Jay Glazer for every big football story, they're on a roll (between this and breaking the Vick story).

Yawn.

Great player and was very well respected. I just don't get all the drama he has thrown out the past few years.

Sometimes it's not so much the drama, it's the timing of his drama.

Good for the Vikings. That was a smart move for them.

Agreed. Well, except for the Bears fan part...I'm a Packers fan in Packers country and I am still so so so sick of the guy.

Rosenfels and Jackson are both hurt, I believe. That combined with any performance issues in training camp would be enough to make any team desperate at the QB position.

After all, you can't hand the ball to AP 60 times a game.

I'm actually starting to feel sorry for Packers fans, which I didn't think was possible!

Until he throws three INTs in a game.

He is so good that the Jets could not wait to get rid of him.

Maybe so, but he's better than nothing.

DaemonSeid 08-18-2009 05:46 PM

What about Trent Green, Brian Greise and Akilii Smith?

Our local news stations (in WISCONSIN) are all on standby for Favre's announcement. Ugh.

Im sure that he is but too bad his picks and injuries kept him from being like his dad.

I was going to say, I thought he was pretty decent. That doesn't help if you get banged up though.

"What the hell is Brett Favre doing here?"

DaemonSeid 08-19-2009 05:06 PM

he gets to see GB 2x this season and has to see the Ravens and the Steelers...he may regret coming out of retirement.

Rumor has it that Brett Favre is a big time gambler and keeps going back to work to pay debts.

I don't follow football and I know nothing about this individual, but I will say that for some people, negative attention is better than no attention at all.

As Oscar Wilde once said, "The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.”

As a loyal Jets fan, I'm sad for him cause its just disgraceful. Its pathetic that a player can "retire" just to get out of a contract again. and again. I dont think hes going to survive the year.

Speaking of the Jets...Mark met Ray and Haloti last night...a LOT.

"Welcome to the NFL kid!"
