STILL SO VERY HOPEFUL!
Hello ladies, i need some advice..well these past couple of years i have been so very intrested in Delta Sigma Theta ive attended parties, participated in the annual summer program jabberwock, made life longs friends with girls who are now Deltas through different events, particiapted in many community service orgs. and i held a position in my universitys Student Government, but all of that had to stop because i became pregnant with a beautiful baby boy..now that my son is a little older ive decided to return to school but i still want to persue my dream of becoming a Delta, so i wanted to know can i still pledge even though i have a baby, or will it be a bad look for me trying to pledge and i have a baby? Any advice will be helpful:) Thanks in advance:confused:

Just believe in your siggy. (Did I really just say that???)

Thank you so much ladygreek but i guess what i really wanted to know was, are there any rules against pledging undergrad. and having children?
|
"Dr.Phil" thank you also for taking out the time to read my post and notice that there were errors:) this is greek "chat" not greek "essay contest":) but thanks for your input.

What does the national website FAQ say?

I have never met a Delta with children. I think you're S.O.L. :(

maybe y'all should put some rules about what can and can't be asked here in Deltaland.
oh wait.... |
Okay firstly i just asked a simple yes or no question, if that info could've been obtained on the national website the question wouldnt have been asked. That is all...

Probably not a good idea to try to raise up on two Deltas when you're seeking membership in their organization. Just sayin... |

At this point the issue for me would not be whether you had a child, but the strength of your academic prowess. |
*pops popcorn*
|
My academic ability has never been an issue for me, even with my child ive still maintained my 3.2 gpa:) But I guess I would be better off asking "REAL" Deltas who know the true meaning of "sisterhood", and not Internet GC Deltas, no disrespect intended...That is really all..

If you're not a Delta, I'm imagine that you aren't in a position to even speak on "the true meaning" Delta's sisterhood, as well as whether members are real or fake. |
Has her question been answered yet? :) What on Earth will she do?

When LG indicated to you what she was looking at, you gave a smart tailed answer. When Doc answered, you gave a smart tailed answer, what were you expecting? I don't know what you did or didn't read as to what a " 'REAL' Delta" would answer for you in this forum, but if you got a partial answer, you should have stopped and listened. As far as knowing what the true meaning of "sisterhood" if you're trying to get into MY sisterhood, when speaking or asking questions of MY sisters, it's BEHOOVES you NOT to get smart when you don't get an answer you don't like. You say that you mean no disrespect, however, you and your answers are showing DIRECTLY opposite. Now does this spell things out for you the way that you like? If not, Doc was right, returning to school may be the best thing for you. |
Libramunoz is so expressive and colorful. LOL

Welp, it has been confirmed. Dr. Phil I always suspected you were not a real Delta. Be gone with ya.

Go to Hell? WOW!!!!! and what chapter do you represent? I guess you weren't listening when they said that you are a representation of your sorority wherever you go, "GC" included:) but even still I will obtain my letters with or without advice from "GC", I mean this only the Internet and NOT REAL LIFE! LOL.....that is truly all...may god bless you ALL..

What kills me is that these chicks register to ask these questions and never once believe that their situation is not unique. As if (1) their circumstances are so original, (2) their questions haven't been asked before and (3) they'll be THE interested one to get THE answer they want and not be told "we don't discuss membership here" and "go to the national website."
Ever since the FAQs were put on the website, there has been no excuse for these inquiries. It's annoying to read. And then the whole "I'll ask a real Delta" really sends me because if you so tight with one, why wouldn't you ask them first? Lame-O! |
Like I stated in a previous response if this question was "frequently asked" it would be on the nationals page:) but the reason why I came here first is because I wanted someones opinion before I came to her with the question, but dont worry GC all my questions were answered in a VERY respectable manner by my dear DELTA friend:) Im very excited to continue my journey..again my letters will be obtained with or without advice from GC...MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

how bout that. its a good thing real Deltas and Internet GC Deltas live in separate universes. that would just be crazy. |
I meant to ask my friends who are DELTAS at my university, they are so down to earth:) but i guess every DELTA is not the same... and the reason for the REAL DELTA part of that post was because there are SOME women "claiming" to be something they're not, lets remember this is the Internet..you get the point...
|
How many times is this chick gonna go back and forth talking about "that is all" ?
'Tis the season for desperate aspirants, I guess. |

This is a serious question, lol. I've always felt like there was "that time of year" for NPC recruitment where PNMs seem to come out of the woodwork to ask crazy questions. That time period is typically like from June-Octoberish, since most schools have formal recruitment starting in August thru fall semester. Is there a "that time of year" for crazy NPHC aspirants? |

But let me swerve back into my lane. I've been driving here too long as it is lol |
Awww i see knight shadow has taken intrest in my posts how sweet lol and desperate never, after asking my "mind blowing" question to my DELTA friend she was quite excited about me continuing my journey, she thinks I have alot to offer to DELTA:) AGAIN my letters will be obtained with or without advice from GC....MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Its not arrogant its called FAITH! hence my sig. "WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE". Im not saying that Im going to become a DELTA tomorrow but I do know that if I strive for excellence I will eventually achieve it, and with GOD on my side I can do ANYTHING:) also the title of this post is??? you catch my drift... MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
|
An intresting quote I just ran across, " ΔΣΘ is not just letters, parties, and good times. It is a feeling that will never leave you as long as you live. It is a responsibility and a duty to yourself and your sisters. It is an eternal love. Letters TODAY, leaders TOMORROW!....Another reason why Im still SO VERY HOPEFUL:) MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL....
|
LOL at this poster!!!!!! http://www.pledgepark.com/images/smilies/laughing.gif
Wow...you really missed a lesson in your english class about TONE... lol! Which alphabet do you own, since you said "My letters"? English? Celtic? Phoenecian? Arabic? Its nice to have faith for the goal you have... but humility is really great to show on a consistent basis as well. You had like 0.0001% of it in your first post in this thread, and then you jumped bad when you felt that my sorors were messing you over in their initial answers. If you could not fill in the blanks after reading "A Torch to Guide You" in this forum AND the FAQs on the NHQ website....then yes, you need to put on a tin foil hat, and sitchoassdown. |
Hence the title of this post, "STILL SO VERY H-O-P-E-F-U-L"! Maybe I should've made that my sig:) and as for your sorors "some" are very questionable, like ive mentioned in an earlier post this is the INTERNET where people can "be" ANYTHING they want:) MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL....
|
AND THIS IS IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM DISRESPECTING YOUR SORORITY, THAT IM SO VERY HOPEFUL OF BECOMING APART OF ONE DAY! BUT THERE ARE ALOT OF "PERPS" OUT THERE! MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL....
|
When you become the Delta Perp police, then you can make that your mission...but for now, we will worry and handle that.
Don't put the cart before the horse now...:) I'm trying to help you as best I can.. but you need to take the cotton out of your ears and hear me closely... 1. take your Caps Lock key OFF. We know internet etiquette...and you are shouting to us. Mind your keyboarding skills. If you have a 3.2 gpa, then you would know your assignments are not typed with the caps lock button pressed. 2. Know your role. Yes its nice that you want to have your questions answered on the net b/c you don't have to show your face....but your friend that is a member of Delta Sigma Theta is given more respect than us but yet we all have reached the goal you want to attain. So, you must give respect in order to earn respect...that phrase should be very familiar. AND the respect also goes for the rest of the NPHC. 3. You feel that we are being fake on here...that we are posing as wannabes and nevergonnabe Deltas...I want you to FALL BACK. Observe the board...ALL of it. People's actions will come out, and you will know whats goin on. The degrees of seperation is very small...And I see you live in Detroit...there are MANY of my sorors and other friends in the NPHC that reside in your city. Just sit there and take in this environment that is GC. 4. Since you're up at 3am...Why not think about a community service project that you can do that will enhance your life and your son's life. Don't do it to get a foothold for Delta..don't even have it tied to your interest in Delta. Do it b/c YOU want to give back to YOUR community. I think these 4 pts should be a nice starting point... |

Had you read and applied what you read from A Torch to Guide You, you might not be in this position now arguing with the EYEOTA chapter of DST. |
