Oklahoma State Bid Day
Bid Day was today at Oklahoma State. In the past, their Greek Life has posted the Bid Day List. Anyone have the link yet?
Not yet! I've been checking. I do one of our favorite RTP's from Dallas pledge KD. She's has already texted her reference writer. I LOVE technology!
Holy crap! They're doing recruitment this early?
OSU Bid Day was today and quota was 49. I heard that a couple of sororities did not make quota. This is one of the best run NPC recruitments in the nation.
Hope it wasn't us but who knows. I agree with pangirl. a GREAT Greek school. It helps when the president of the University is greek and understands the importance of the greek system. I am so glad many of our Dallas girls are choosing to head North to Stillwater. I will have our list later tonight until then, I'll have to wait.

KD pledged 52. I haven't had time to look at how many from my part of the world yet
thats crazy that they put it online. oh the joys of being at small school with only 3 panhellenic sororities.

Congratuations to all of the new members at Oklahoma State! There are great chapters at OSU with beautiful houses. Yea for Nu chapter of KD-- bidding 52 new members is a great way to celebrate their 90th Birthday on campus.
JustInterested, how wonderful that one of your rec girls pledging KD. You will have to go to initiation this year... the house is wonderful if you have never been there. Back in the day, Bid Day at Okla State was unique. We went by Rush groups to a building with an outdoor porch, then got in several lines to receive our bids individually (A-G) (H-K), etc. Once we had a chance to scream (or cry) with our rush group and counsellor, we ran down a lawn, where all of the Stillwater taxis had been hired to ferry the pledges to their new homes. We piled into one, (or waited for the next one--never a very long wait, as they ran continuously). You might share the ride with a new Chi O, a couple of Kappas, a Zeta and an ADPi. We shouted out our new house and the taxi made the circuit to drop us off. The members were pouring out the front doors of the houses anxiously waiting for each taxi, laughing and shouting as a taxi pulled up and one or more new pledges jumped out to race up the front walk. It was a unique and memorable way to begin Greek Life. Amazing how quickly they got everyone delivered. Of course, before seatbelt laws, we were sitting on each other's laps! I don't know when that ended, but now they have a more typical "running of the girls", where all the NM open their bids, gather around a sign or letters, then run with some actives to the house. Yea for the start of Recruitment Season! |
Edited because I'm stupid and didn't check the date. wah wah.
Where are you getting these!? I can't find them... can only find the bid lists from 2006, 07 and 08.
Keep em coming. I am thrilled to see Tri Delta's numbers. They were nextdoor neighbors... |
Yes. That link is from last year : (
dammit. i didn't even check the date. :(
If anyone gets Gamma Phi numbers, I'd love to get started on our recruitment thread!
I'd also love to hear the AXO numbers as well!

Tri-Delta at OSU had an aewsom recruitment this year! Quota was 49 and they pledged 50! Wow - way to go Delta, Delta Delta!!!
An awesome alumnae panhellenic just North of me has the bid list. I don't feel comfortable posting on here. The university should do that. However, from counting by hand, and I may be off one or two. AXO 50, ADPi 49, GPhiB, 49, KAT, 49, PiPhi, 50, Zeta 51, KKG 49. Quota was 49 I believe. Other posters have posted their numbers.

Thanks for posting. Great to see all of the chapters did well. It is a good system. Congrats to all of the OSU new members.
One thing I noticed is the large number of out of state girls, particularly Texas (and to a lesser extent, Ks). When I was in school, that was rare and most Pokes were of the home grown variety. Maybe a lot of OSU alums have settled in Texas and raised their children to be Cowboys. OU always attracted a lot of Texans, but Stillwater, not so much. I only made it half way through the list before my eyes crossed, but saw three women from Frisco, Texas alone... |
Another factor forcing Texans towards OSU is the ten percent rule at Texas schools. That has pushed a lot of students towards Oklahoma.
From what I am hearing, the 10 percent rule in Florida has also made a huge impact on where students are attending.
Interesting that a set of twins from Frisco rushed and pledged two different sororities - alpha chi and pi phi
We hear so many questions about twins and pledging different houses. |
Bid List from OSU
Here is the link to the list:
http://www.stillwater-newspress.com/...yword=topstory From what I could see, Gamma Phi Beta has 49 new members, which I believe was quota! |

Okay i go to a small school non competitive, whats 10% rule?
The 10% refers to the fact that at some flagship state universities, such as UT-Austin, you typically need to be in the top ten percent of your high school class to be accepted.
In Texas, the 10% rule states that all public Texas universities have to guarantee admission to all high school students that were top 10% in their graduating class. This sometimes comes close to filling up the incoming Freshman class with just the top 10% kids.
Thus, girls in top 15% of their graduation class may not have a spot at UT, etc and go out of state to OSU. |

It's amazing isn't it? The Gamma Phi chapter at Ok State is particularly nice. Great chapter when I was on campus and still is.
Two new Alpha Chis at OSU from my homestate! WOOHOO! :D
And yes, Alpha Chi made quota +1, putting us at 50 new members. Congrats to Gamma Epsilon! |

The university of Arkansas will waive out of state tuition for any state if the ACT/SAT or GPA is a certain score. That perk is not limited to Texans. :D |
