Squirrel Stuff
 

I was walking thru Kohl's Department Store this afternoon and I SWEAR this cute pair of Sonoma squirrel earrings just jumped into my hands!! (That's what I told my hubby!!)

What are some of the cute squirrel stuff you have or you know about?

((I have a cute stone squirrel with a smiling face sitting on a swing that is hanging from my front tree! Also, at Convention, I was in the Atlanta group and had the Squirrel flag!)

Cute thread, Lynn! I have two cute stuffed squirrels (with acorns), a Royal Doulton squirrel figurine (again, with acorn), a hard-cover copy of "The Squirrel Nutkin" by Beatrix Potter, and--for most unusual--a copper squirrel cookie cutter.

Unfortunately, I can't bake to save my life. :rolleyes:
But, its pretty to look at.

Oh, and I forgot: a squirrel pin to put on my lapel. A squirrel charm for a necklace, and another squirrel charm on my charm bracelet.

God, I didn't realize that I've got a lot of stuff. Its taken all the self-control I have not to purchase the Swarovski squirrel figurine. I can't justify $50 on a 2-inch high piece of crystal.

Stop me before I shop again! :D

I've been looking at that Swarovski squirrel figurine for quite a while!

One of my favorite squirrel items: My bf bought me a stuffed animal squirrel (I avoided saying "stuffed squirrel" lol) holding one acorn...I named him "OneNut" :D

My parents always keep an eye out for squirrel figurines and found this cute set of 3 squirrels as a family.

OMG, I just realized what I typed out: "stuffed squirrel." I hope Lil_G doesn't read this or I may end up with a surprise in my mail soon! :eek: LOL

I loved that Swar. Squirrel!! My hubby almost bought it for me, but it looked like it had a flaw or something..I'll have to remind him at Christmas, lol.

When I was initated in the mid-70's, my dad found a yard (concrete)) grey and white squirrel..I still have it.

My mother in law is into ceramics and made me 2 squirrels for Christmas ((haven't put them out yet....will wait until she comes to visit)). Don't want the neighborhood "fashion police" to critize me at the next homeowner's association, lol.;)

I was at Big Lots last year (Big Lots is this discount close out CHEAP store that we have in MI. It's the best place in the world to go find cheap gifts that are still nice) and I was walking through the decoration dept. and sitting all by itself was this little figurine of 2 grey squirrels, a big one and a little one!! The little one is sitting on a tree stump and they are roasting marshmallows together!!! I always say it's my sis-mom and I!!! I wish there were more so that I could get them for other sisters. I have never seen something that was a grey squirrel and a big and little squirrel together!!! It's the best thing I have ever found!!

I was wondering if anyone has ever seen a pin I can put on my coat? When I was a new member I put my pledge pin on my coat but I found out if course that I wasn't allowed to. Ever since then I have wanted to find a nice AGD pin for my winter pea coat. Has anyone ever seen anything like that??

Have you tried a "squirrel pin" search on Ebay? Lots of things come up. Lots are on the ugly side, but there must be a jewel somewhere! :)

LXA at UM really liked our house and wanted to do things with us. Well just playing around with us, one day they sent an email out to everyone in our house. It was a ransom notice saying that they had stolen the squirrel we had used at an information table. The also had a pic with two guys holding the squirrel in bandana's and holding a plastic knife to it.:rolleyes: The picture was really distorted but and we couldnt make it out, but we decided to get even by stealing their composite (which is a campus tradition for sororties and fraternities to do at UM, totally legal). So in the snow a group of us go and there's all this fun comotion. Finally we decided to do a trade off. When we saw what the squirrel actually looked like, we got mad. We thought it was like the huge one we had, but it was the lil one. We were like we did all of that for this? And admittingly I actually drop kicked the poor thing. However, I decided to keep it ti remind me of all the fun times I had doing stuff like that and I attached my 'Ask Me More About AGD' pin on its belly. Its name is Gammie and its sitting on my bed with my teddy wolverine, Wolvie :D

Personally, I love my Anne Geddes Baby Squirrel the best, and I just bought one for my new lil sis today also. She gets pinned tomorrow I believe. :)

oh my lord, the millions of squirrel items that i have now. almost everybody i know has the little ty beanie baby squirrel, and a little while ago, my sister got me the itty bitty one that mc donald's has. other than that, i have a squirrel hand puppet, a squirrel calendar, a squirrel post card from ky that says "i'm nuts 'bout kentucky", i also have a copper squirrel cookie cutter, and not sure where, but my mom found me a copper cookie cutter in the shape of an acorn. cute cute. but my absolute favorite squirrel related item would have to be a full color poster of beatrix potters squirrel nutkin (it came in a pack of posters for all of his books) i've got it framed on the wall of my apartment. and although this isn't mine, for christmas, i bought my big a cute handcrafted door plaque that says "welcome to the nut house" and it's got a squirrel on it. ah well. 'nuf 'bout my squirrel addiction. =)

I bought my lil sister's Anne Geddes squirrel at Target (a fine shopping establishment ;) ), but I think they sometimes carry them at Meijers and Kmart too.

I lost count of my squirrel collection at 105....I used to number each one and keep track in an AGD notebook, but that good intention has fallen by the wayside.

#1 is "Emily Butterfield's Skiouros," which was a favor at the 1972 convention in Scottsdale. It is a brass reproduction of a squirrel the way Emily drew it.

I have 'em in glass, crystal, wood, ceramic, porcelain, fabric, and even one carved from a piece of coal!

I got mine at a gift shop in Helen, Georgia - a "touristy" German-like town. ((Correction..hubby says it was Mammoth Cave in Bowling Greek, KY.))

Hubby couldn't say much if I had 100* squirrels..not with his hundreds of books, cds/tapes/records.

I'd forgotten how much that commercial cracks me up!!! :D

I can still hear it echoing in my head: "(heavy Spanish accent) As long as I have legs...I will run with the squirrels."

I also love the one where the lady is putting food in the bird feeder and there are 3-4 squirrels coming out/hiding. I swear I've seen it a dozen times, but couldn't tell what they actually advertise, lol!!:) :D

I've seen the one where they high-five each other, and that cracks me up. Isn't that one a Geico commercial? But I haven't seen the other two. I will be on the lookout for them.

I have that Swar. squirrel, my exboyfriend bought it for me.. I DIDNT know that it cost that much. I have the anne geddes and ty beanie squirrels and my best friend found an ornament of a squirrel for christmas, how weird!@

I have the Anne Geddes baby squirrel (the large one). I have two different beanie baby squirrels. I have several Anne Geddes baby squirrel pics (yes I am obsessed with Anne Geddes). Several figurines, too. Collection of cards that various people send me with squirrels on them. My most favorite...two Rocky (from Rocky and Bullwinkle) squirrels. It was my "family" tradition. I know I have more...but since my things are all in the US and I am not, I tend to forget.

A few things I've recently added to my collection. MY aunt bought me a Swarovski squirrel. (my parents got me a Swarovski violin) :0) Brandon also got me a Anne Geddes Squirrel last week.

Well, I have a ton of really cool squirrel things. My sister-daughter bought me this box while we were active. It was a squirrel box, and when you took off the lid, inside was a red rose on the bottom of the box.

The newest squirrel I just got on friday night. I have a VST member that lives in the town next to the chapter that I advise. Her name is Paula Little and she is so wonderful. She told me that sometimes you just see a squirrel item and know that it belongs with a special person. She bought me this jumper that has fall leaves on the front with a squirrel on the back. It is the most adorible thing I have ever seen.

Hallmark has there Halloween/Thanksgiving stuff out already. When I was there last week, I thought - on my not that time yet!!! But then I saw the cutest little squirrel plush holding a pumpkin. It is a must have!!! :D
