Ok ya'll-poll time-what is everyone going to be for Halloween? Who still dresses up?? Besides me....:D

yeah.. i need some good ideas on what to dress as.. oher than ALF :rolleyes: :D

Why not alf? It would win best costume at any halloween party. Anyways I will probably go as a hockey player. I will wear my tampa bay lightning jersey with pads and stuff.

You should go as alf...then we can like trade alf costume pics and experiences...it would rock....almost as hard as the true alf did..and still does...LOL...

I'm going as Annie-like Annie and Daddy Warbucks, you know? From the movie? Ok-I'm going to buy a red curly wig, and a red dress with white trim, and I'm going to wear ruffly ankle socks with black shoes...

My boyfriend is threatening to not be seen with me...:D

I ain't doing nothing but watching tv. Halloween parties just ain't that fun anymore.

There are several fraternity Halloween parties, including PIKE here. There's also the Panhellenic Trick-or-Treat party here, where each of us hands out candy to Professors' kids from the chapter rooms. Aww! So I'm going to where different costumes. I'm thinking about dressing up as Pippi Long Stocking for the trick-or-treat thingy. I have long red hair and freckles already, so all I need to do is stick coat-hanger wires in my hair in pigtails, and find out what she wears in the movie LOL. I want to be something sexy for the fraternity parties, though LOL! One of my sisters was joking saying she wants to be the Playboy bunny for the Pike party LOL!!! I think that would be hilarious, especially since that's our unofficial national mascot.

2 years ago, I had my favorite costume ever - Britney Spears in the Baby One More time schoolgirl getup. I got soooo much attention that night ;)

Last year I didn't dress up, didn't have time to think of a costume. I probably won't dress up this year either. But I always go home and trick-or-treat with my little cousins :)

If I end up going to any costume parties, then I'll find a costume.

I don't know if I am dressing up this year(24 is a little old) but my favorite costume I ever did was the year my friend Catherine and I went as farmers and our friend Jackie was our cow, complete with a full cow costume WITH udders. We were at Franklin Street in UNC(AWESOME HALLOWEEN PARTIES!!) and I have never heard so many disgusting comments about what guys wanted to do with those udders. But we did end up crashing a UNC Sigma Chi house party that night and had a ball! I miss big Halloween parties!

Haha I was also the school-girl Britney Spears one year (my hair was bleached blonde at the time, so it worked perfect----but looked bad with my freckles LOL!). I was having my annual Halloween costume party at my house that year and I was a sophomore in highschool at the time. All my guy friends were like "yeah, sexy!" LOL....whatever!

I love this thread! I now know what I'm gonna be for this huge Halloween party I'm- going to-- yup--Britney Spears a la Baby hit me one more time!

I am going to be either a Vampire-a cool vamp, long black skirt, black top and the 'real' fangs-or the Blink182 Nurse. I just cant decide which one!

I pulled my Britney costume together in about 2 hrs. I found a navy blue uniform skirt at Walmart, and I already had the sweater, white shirt and black bra.

The mall was totally out of the pink hair furries, because EVERYONE was Britney that year. So I went BACK to Walmart and bought some white fur trim that I made into scruncies in the car on the way home (I wasn't driving).

Amy, hope you've got more time to pull your costume together than I did! The party was kinda last minute. :)

Very Awesome thread. I love Dressing up, a yr or so ago, My friend and I went as Heaven and Hell . I was the angel(duh, of course,lol) and she was Hell the Devil it was awesome we won best costume!!! :D
This yr I am soo lost as in what to be:confused: I was thinking Wonder Woman, or bubbles from the power puff girls . Any one have any other ideas would be a grrreeaat help:D

The best costume that one of our kids ever did was...a Halloween table!!!

You get a piece of cardboard the size of a card table or smaller and "set" it with a paper Halloween tablecloth and plates and cups, which you glue at the 4 place settings. Then you cut a hole in the center and poke your head through. Someone decorates your face like a jack-o-lantern centerpiece, complete with orange face and green hair pulled on top of your head.

Our daughter won $50 for her costume in a huge contest!:)

dude! that table idea is AWESOME! I might do that for one of the parties, but I definitely have to be something sexy for most of them :) I luv turning heads! :) :) :) Should I be the playboy bunny, or would that be too much? Especially since I have fat thighs...yuck!

I actually HAVE a short pleated black skirt, the tight white button down, the small gray cardigan, and of course black bra already! but i have dark hair so i just need a blonde wig, the furry hair things and knee socks and i am ready! tried it all on today and it was awesome! I can't wait!

so...what are some good ideas for costumes for guys? Last year I did the 80's style guy look. I don't think it worked though. Everyone was drunk and just though i couldn't dress.

This is an embarrasement, but in 97 I became Britney Spears. Imagine a 6'1" guy in Britney Spears getup. 98 I was a Scud Missile, don't ask, it was pretty bad looking. 99 I became Darth Nerdio, a mixture of Waldo and Darth Maul. After that, I've been out of the costume business, though this year I'm thinking about becomming one of those guys from the Jerry House from PCU. Maybe the one with the tie-dye pajama.:cool:

Last year I was Buttercup from the PowerPuff Girls. Of course, I was at work, and it was me and all the boys that night. None of them would dress up as the other 2 with me. Aargh.. stupid boys! :D (And yes, we adults dress up at work.)

My friend is going as a Miss America this year.. complete with sash and tiara. I can't wait to see her. My other friend is probably going to be a Viking. I haven't thought of one yet.

Since I am pageant obsessed (and a stickler for accuracy), I have to mention that Miss America doesn't have a sash! (She does have a scepter though)

That sounds hilarious! I would gladly pay money to see that! I did the Baby One More Time costume a couple of years ago. Personally, I thought my husband liked it a little TOO much :rolleyes:

This year I am gonna wear my friend's cheerleading uniform from high school. I am so stoked. My sorority always has a Halloween crush party, and all the fraternities have house parties. This year, the kids at one of the local elementary schools is coming trick-or-treating on the afternoon of the 30th, so we get to dress up then. By far the most comfortable costume ever was when I went as a doctor. I borrowed my friend's scrubs, and it was like wearing pajamas! (I am big on the borrowing from friends thing b/c it's CHEAP!!!) In 11th grade, me and my friends won a costume contest as the Spice Girls. We looked awesome! Of course we had been planning since like July. On a different note, I am so sick of seeing Britney Spears/naughty Catholic school girl thing!! EVERYONE has done that for the last 2 years. It is so played out! Let's see some creativity, folks!

Last year, I wore an old white tuxedo from 1973 i got for 10 bucks at goodwill, and wore the biggest pair of aviator sunglasses i could find at star market . . . it was a sick costume, and since it was trashy i could just spill on it and keep on rollin' . . .

I'm still working this year's costume idea, i don't know if ALF will work out, i need a contingency plan.

I figured it out! YAY for nichole! hehe I got the cutest angel costume. Its cute yet sexy at the same time :) I have this slinky type white dress*not too short*I mean it is October its gonna be chilly! Anyways the dress with this sheer white long sleeved shirt type thing with fake feathers around the wrist parts!*kind of like what Cher wore in Clueless on her date with Christian* I got the cutest sparkly wings and a glittery light up halo!! Its the cutest outfit ever! i love it! my best friend is going as a sexy devil girl! Its going to be so cute! Anyways just thought I would share. I know its not ALF or anything but I like it! :D

Okay, you want something *ORIGINAL*? My sophomore year of high school, I dressed up as Casey Becker from SCREAM (the character at the beginning that Drew Barrymore played--the one that got gutted & hung), rather than just the Ghostface Killer Costume, u know? I bought everything seperate...an off-white sweater (a cheap one from Wal-Mart) that I spread fake blood all over, a short blonde wig, and a toy phone that would ring when u press a button on it. So I wore the sweater, a pair of jeans I already had, a pair of tennis shoes, and put on the wig.

It looked so awesome! Like I was "bleeding" everywhere! And I hung one arm around a little tree in my front yard to make it look like I was hanging (I scared a few little kids like that---they didn't want any candy from ME lol!). Then I made the "phone" ring and I answered it...oh yeah and I had the Scream "knife" and had it laying in the grass near me to make it look as though someone had cut me LOL!!!

Okay, to clarify: I was Britney my JUNIOR year. I got a little confused cuz I've had a costume party every year since sixth grade. Sorry 'bout that. ;)

So....I need Halloween costume ideas....what are some that you guys have seen and just died laughing...fill me in...I need a good one....but it needs to be in a pair..my buddy and I are going to go with a same theme whatever we do.

My guy friends always come up with random costume ideas... one year, my friend Jon went as a keg- he spraypainted a trashcan silver, cut out the bottom, and attached straps so it covered his body, and tied a tap to his head. It was great...

Another time, my friend Kent went as a flasher. He wore a brown trenchcoat and rigged this contraption inside to that when he opened the coat, a giant stuffed tube sock protruded out like 2 feet (he wore tighty-whities undeneath). I think he had a length of fishing line attached to the inside of his sleeve, so he could control where the tube-sock-penis went- like he stuck it in the cheetos bowl or something. Whatever. He's weird.

The other cool costume I saw was a girl in my hometown. She had gotten one of those cone things they put aound dog's necks to keep them from eating their stitches, except it was clear, and had put it around her neck, dressed in silver, and put a weighted green balloon in the cone- she was a martini! Great costume but she had to drink from a funnel all night cause she couldn't drink normally.

Okay, for the Panhellenic Halloween Party last night (we handed out candy to Professors' kids from the chapter rooms), I dressed as a Girl Scout. I wore a button-up, collared, white shirt; a pair of plaid shorts that said "Camp Sycamore Hills" (a Girl Scout Camp I worked at this summer); a bandana on my head that said "Camp Sycamore Hills"; my hair in two braids, and finally, I wore one of my old Girl Scout vests (the one from when I was a Junior G.S.). It was hilarious cuz the vest hadn't been worn since I was 12, and it was obviously quite small on me. It had all my badges and pins on it though, and it was really cute. My inspiration for that was the advertisement for Corky Ramano obviously. ;) I still don't know what to wear for the Pike and SAE Parties this weekend, though.

Last year I was half of Kriss Kross (don't ask me why, it seemed like a good idea at the time), and this year I think I'm going to be Hugh Hefner, but I'm not sure. THe thing is, I may need two costumes - I work at a preschool as a teacher, and I have to come in dressed up, but it wouldn't be appropriate to come in as Hugh Hefner, so I've gotta find something easy and cheap to dress up in for the hour I'm at work before I can get into my real costume.

I know what youre saying.... I'm probably being "Hit me baby one more time Britney" (like she's a barbie or something :confused: ) but I have a Dance Marathon event tomorrow where I get tocarve pumpkins and play mummy wrap and other fun games with the kids stuck in the hospital recieving treatment. I don't think Brittney is appropriate - so I'll probably be a farmer.... anyone have any better (easy and fast!) ideas?
