do you buy greek merchandise online or at a shop near your campus?

I have seen a lot of posts recently talking about buying from certain online sites. I'm wondering if anyone still buys from local stores? I went to SMU and we used to buy all of our sorority stuff from McCartney's-which had everything! I'm wondering if these places are a thing of the past and everyone is just doing the online thing? Are there any physical standing stores you like to buy merchandise from?

Yes, they still exist.

Also, alot of the online shops ARE actual physical stores.

Example: Sigma's official vendor is a store in Oxford, OH that also does online sales.

We buy almost everything online because the closest physical store ("The University Shop" at UMDCP) is 45 minutes away. And since they don't have a Kappa chapter there anymore, their selection of KKG stuff is pretty limited.

I think University Spirit is still a mainstay right off of Milledge in Athens. We always used to go to them to make our paddles and get embroidered jackets. But since we are a local, we used to make most of our stuff for big sis/lil sis week.

There's a University Spirit by URI, and I still go in to buy pens every time I go home.

This is pretty much the same for us too. It only takes about 30-35 minutes to The University Shop from my campus, but they don't have Phi Mu so the selection is also pretty limited.

When we visit other schools, we usually stop by their campus store to see what cool stuff they have.

But 99% of our stuff comes from online.

When I was active, we would buy our jackets, and most of our big/little stuff and any other small gifts from a store.. Brink Ink in Edinboro, PA. But if we were mass ordering t-shirts, we'd search online.

TCU still has the Brown Bag shop about five minutes (if even that) from campus, but some Greek stuff is also sold at Flash, which is on University Drive... i.e. practically on campus.

I seem to recall sorority stuff on the square at the Lily Pad in Oxford, MS for Ole Miss.

Texas A&M has a sorority shop just down the street from the main campus in College Station that I can exactly remember the name of, but I have bought several things there!

I've never been able to find that Brown Bag place. Someone told me it was on University by 30. I guess I keep passing it.

Flash is pretty good. Even though we don't have a chapter at TCU, I've been able to find a few things there.

TriDelta Fannypacks

Hi! I was wondering if any one knew were I could get a tridelta fannypack? Or any Tridelta shirts that have another schools name on the shirt also?

:) Thanks!

It's not ON University, it's just off there before 30 if you're coming from TCU. Take left at light on W Vickery, right on Pulido (by the Springwood Suites??? hotel), it's immediately on your left.

Really? I seem to recall seeing lots of Phi Mu stuff there as recently as last semester.

Now I see why I've never found that place. The only time I come to that part of FW is when I'm going to TCU, so University is my friend lol.

I think I'll stick with Flash.

I but mine from both. There are some things I can only buy from my sorority's website... But what are some good sites to buy stuff?

jennyj87 07-06-2009 11:30 AM

I buy everything online. The closest store is at USF, a good 2 hours away. I
splurgd and bought the vinyard vines bag with our pin on it the other day!

There are not a whole lot of greek stores near Cap U. but i was forwarded a link to www.trulysisters.com, they have some nice cards

kkath88 07-07-2009 06:25 PM

we also have to order online since our school doesn't have a store nearby and our bookstore doesn't carry sorority items. This company did our bid day gifts last year and they were awesome! I love finding unique gifts that are really cute and of course, are greek licensed!

OH my gosh! I just checked out Not Soap, Radio...that stuff is fab!!! I want those lip balms! I'm so excited to have new gift ideas. Thanks for the great post!

Matsimela 07-16-2009 08:52 PM

my school has over 40 greek chapters (excluding local grad chapters/alumni associations) not to mention another school with a good number of orgs so we have a local store. But they are limited in what they do so a lot of people order from online stores. There are also people that have started making their own para as well as para for other orgs. Got a lot of choices here in Tampa Bay.

pearlbubbles 07-16-2009 11:20 PM

There's two local stores near my campus. One is more for sweatshirts and paddles--it's called T-Galaxy--and the other is more for the merchandise--it's called Art of the Flower. The stock at both is a little limited though, so if I want something different, I'll usually just go to the Delta Shop online.
