Actors you can't stand

Is there an actor you can't stand? Something about their name, look or acting that bothers you? Does their voice drive you up a wall? Can't find the remote fast enough when a movie/show/commercial starring them comes on? Post it here.

For me, it's Martin Lawrence. After Martin, I can't watch anything with him. I don't find him funny anymore. He looks kinda pervy to me

my BFF HATES Charlie Sheen-such a conflict of interest as I love Two and a Half Men.

Sandra Bernhardt weirds me out too.

DrPhil 06-22-2009 11:56 AM

Halle Berry.

Her roles in the Black films in her early days hid the fact that she's not a good actress.

Just ick. I really strongly dislike her brand of humor.

I don't think I've ever laughed at her humor.

AOII_LB93 06-22-2009 12:07 PM

Drew Barrymore and Katie Holmes...mainly because they both talk out of the sides of their mouths. That really bothers me for some reason.

I don't even think she has a sense of humor. I've never met one person who finds her funny.

annabella 06-22-2009 12:47 PM

Agreed on Drew Barrymore. I understand she's been through a lot, but she just seems so fake. Like she's playing dumb or something; she speaks way too deliberately.

Xidelt 06-22-2009 01:02 PM

Tom Cruise. He took a turn to Weirdville and then dived into the Deep End. I also can't stand how he spews all this crap about depression and medication is bad for it, blah blah blah. Until you've walked a mile in somebody else's shoes, you need to keep your mouth shut!

I also can't stand Jim Carey. The scene in "Liar, Liar" where he beats himself up in the bathroom literally made me sick. He used to be mildly funny until then. Now I can't stand to watch any of his movies.

AOII_LB93 06-22-2009 01:20 PM

As far as actors? Hmm...John Travolta, I just don't like him, he gives me the creepy vibe. As does Russell Crowe - aside from his antics.

33girl 06-22-2009 01:23 PM

Jessica Lange. I don't know why she gets the acclaim she gets. I don't think she can act her way out of a paper bag.

Ben Stiller. Just annoying.

Agreed w/ Sarah Silverman, although calling her an "actor" is really pushing it.

As far as old school actors, Grace Kelly was gorgeous but I can't stand her speaking voice.

CutiePie2000 06-22-2009 01:45 PM

Jay Mohr.

Please, just go away.

KSUViolet06 06-22-2009 01:58 PM

Sarah Silverman is not funny.

Any of the American Pie actors. Stupid.

I'm also not a Katherine Heigl fan.

Haven't liked a Tom Cruise movie in years.

I also really wish that the socialite types would stay away from movies (i.e. Paris, Nicole, etc.)

Most singers-turned-actors are really bad also, especially Beyonce.

LeslieAGD 06-22-2009 02:10 PM

Kirsten Dunst...ugh, so flipping annoying. If you've ever seen/heard/read one of her interviews you'd know what I mean. She's so conceited.

I agree about Sarah Silverman: not funny. And I HATE HATE HATE Beyonce!!! (she sort-of counts now that she's breaking into films)

Senusret I 06-22-2009 02:23 PM

Sarah Silverman is funny as all get out!

“Guess what, Martin Luther King? I had a (expletive) dream, too.” LMAOOOOOO

“I was going to get an abortion the other day. I totally wanted an abortion. And it turns out I was just thirsty.” LMAOOOOOOOO

You bunch of wet blankets! lol

LOL...I usually like that kind of comedy but I can't listen to her long enough to grasp it.

I can't stand either of them.

And Jessica Alba. I'm not even sure why I don't like her, but I don't.

CO-freaking-SIIIIIGN. All my guy friends think she's their vision of a perfect 10, and I'm like WTF? I don't get it.

Megan Fox too. Where's the appeal there?

madmax 06-22-2009 03:18 PM

Robin Williams as a comedian. Any movie with Brendan Fraser is guaranteed to be flop.

Sarah Silverman is the BEST! I have a jerky sense of humor, so maybe that explains it.

I think she's funny, too, most of the time. Sometimes she goes too far even for me. C'mon, how could anyone not laugh at the "I'm F#$*ing Matt Damon" prank she pulled on Jimmy?

As for actors I can't stand: Angelina Jolie, Katherine Heigl, Beyonce, Mel Gibson, Nicholas Cage.

Agree with both of these.

Brendan Fraser isn't even remotely entertaining. I hate watching interviews with him, also. He tries to be funny at times, but he definitely isn't. He's more awkward than anything else.

And I must add to the list... Janeane Garofalo. I was so disappointed to see that she was a new character in '24' this season (as I was when I had to put up with her in 2 episodes of my favorite show of all time... 'Seinfeld'). And she has become even more obnoxious because of her latest political rants. Ugh.

ASTALUMNA06......I definitely agree with you........JANEANE GAROFALO IS WAY TOO ANNOYING AND VERY OBNOXIOUS!!!!!!

Who is Megan Fox, anyway? What show/movie is/was she in? I keep seeing her name all over the place and I have no clue who she is.

She was the female "lead" in the first Transformers movies. Basically a pretty face. Who knows if she can act?

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1083271/

She was most recently in Transformers.

Exactly what I thought until about a week ago when I looked her up online. Everyone kept saying "Megan Fox is so hot".. I finally figured out she's from Transformers. From what I saw in that movie, she's good at screaming and running, but as for some "real" acting... she needs to do a lot more to impress me.

Given the bolded part, acting is irrelevant. ;) As the mother of a friend of mine once said about a similar actor who couldn't act: "Good lord, the man breathes! What more do you want?!"

Ditto Jessica Alba and Katherine Heigl.

My list would include Martha Plimpton, Hillary Swank, Sarah Jessica Parker, David Caruso and Jim Carey.

THANK YOU! I mean I LOVED me some "Top Gun" (the volleyball scene was to die for...DROOL) but after his dive into the deep end, I can't even bring myself to watch his films

Exactly! DH is in total lust with Jessica Alba and I don't see the attraction

Let me add another to the mix: MEL GIBSON. His Anti-Semetic spewing when he got arrested for the DUI killed it for me. And don't get me started about him dumping his wife and getting some young chick knocked up

AGDee 06-22-2009 08:56 PM

Others will probably disagree but there is something about Owen Wilson that drives me nuts in most of his movies. The only one I've seen where I liked his character was Marley and Me. I don't know if it's the parts he plays (You, Me and Dupree, Meet the Fockers) or if it's him, but ...ack! It's the whiny voice I think.

KSigkid 06-22-2009 09:00 PM

Not a specific actor, but I get annoyed when actors act as if they're political pundits. I'm looking at you Jon Voight, Chuck Norris, Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, etc.

AXOamor 06-22-2009 11:25 PM

Joaquin Phoenix. Not even because he's a bad actor. I just hated his character in Gladiator and I don't think I ever got over it. He was such a JERK. Well..his character was a jerk and he plays jerk well.

BabyPiNK_FL 06-23-2009 12:17 AM

That kid that looks like Seth Rogen-DUDE! You are not in any way, shape(less), or form talented. Telling pathetic non-jokes and being a visual gag is not going to carry you far. UGH! It was tolerable for a while. Not anymore.

Michael Cera-the dork voice is officially over. You can have hormones now.

Beyonce is annoying. Her "bobblehead" when she talks is goofy. So is her speaking voice. Her mom talks the same way as does her sister.

Owen Wilson plays the voice of my favorite cartoon character of ALL time. Lightning McQueen-so I am obligated to like him regardless of all the drama he has had in his life. bleh. (And that nose...)

Why does Sarah Silverman have to bring the name of Jesus into everything she does?! The only good thing I saw her in was a two part episode of Star Trek: Voyager. That's IT.

Scarlett Johannsen & Ryan Reynolds BOTH annoy me. I'm glad they're married to each other and spend a lot of time in Canada-away from us. Just don't have kids. However, I do tolerate him much better than her, EXCEPT in Wolverine, that **** was unforgiveable!

Megan Fox had like 5 lines in Transformers. She didn't even need to be there.

It is the voice, and the way he has this lost look in his eyes and cocks his head to the side while talking. He looks kinda spaced out.

Let's be honest. Guys would like to see her in Playboy or something. Girls don't care about her at all. She has no place being in a major motion picture.

:)

LaneSig 06-23-2009 02:34 PM

I've never been able to stand Will Ferrell.

My godson wanted to see "Land of the Lost". That movie just made my dislike of WF go into a deeper pit of hell.

Brandon Frasier should have been in that movie. He probably tried to get the roll of Chakka and wasn't qualified.

WVU alpha phi 06-23-2009 03:30 PM

Beyonce and Scarlette Johannsson are the big two that I can't stand. Like someone else said, I also hate when singers try to do movies. Just because you're talented at one thing doesn't mean you're great at everything!

Renee Zellweger used to be on my list but I loved her most recent movie New In Town.

David Caruso .

Lol to the first.

I debated putting Caruso on here, but I have come to enjoy his portrayal of Horatio. His extraness is so entertaining. Cracks me up every time.

I hear they are making a movie together. Here's a publicity photo.

I have detested Hilary since 90210 and I loved SJP in Square Pegs and other stuff she did when she was younger, but she is just a little too full of herself right now.
