The Bachelorette - Jillian Harris

Somehow there's no thread about this show. Anyone else watching? I'm loving Ed after this week's episode.

AlphaXi_Husky 06-03-2009 11:17 PM

Good call, I'm surprised I didn't notice.

I'm really enjoying this season - and I love Jillian. I'm really liking Ed also. Though I think Dave and Wes need to GTFO.

srmom 06-04-2009 09:44 AM

I like Jake the pilot too, but don't think he's long for this show.

I get the feeling that the producers are making her keep Dave, because even she has to see that he is somewhat of a psycho. Did you see the previews where she turns her head when he tries to kiss her?

That looks awesome! I think Dave is going home next week. It sounded like she didn't really know he was weird until Brad said something to her and Brad wasn't very clear so maybe she was waiting to find out more info.

I depise Wes. All he does is sing to her. I think it would be nice if he had other redeeming qualities, but I haven't seen any of those yet.

AlphaXi_Husky 06-09-2009 01:12 AM

So what does everyone think - does Wes really have a girlfriend? Regardless, I think he's a d-bag. And I think it's funny/interesting that Juan and Dave went home on the same night.

I think Wes looked guilty. He's just a d-bag, like you said, and so cheesy. I really really really hope he goes home next week. I felt bad for Tanner actually, he looked like he was going to faint. He's actually lucky that Juan went home since he kept saying "stop looking at me!" to him. I'm sure that would have sparked some suspicion about who told her.

I thought it was awesome that Juan and Dave both went home. I was really hoping they'd be in the same cab! haha It was too funny that Dave has no concept of how inappropriate he was and blamed getting sent home on Juan.

CutiePie2000 06-09-2009 12:53 PM

I like Jake the Pilot and Robby the cute bartender....he reminds me of that yummy Ioan Gruffudd from the "Fantastic Four" movies.

The breakdancer instructor is cute, but a bit too frenetic for me. He seems a bit unbalanced to me somehow.

===========
So, does anyone want to visit Vancouver after watching that episode? Tourism Vancouver was all excited that Vancouver would be showcased on that episode.

I actually didn't like Michael (break dance instructor) until last night. He's a little immature for her, but he's cute and seems genuine. I'm loving Reid, Jake and Kiptyn.

I thought it made Vancouver look really cool! I don't know if i'll plan a trip any time soon because of the Bachelorette but it was my list of places I want to to go anyway :)

You took the words right out of my mouth.

My faves: Ed, Reid, Jake and Kiptyn.

Based on the previews we saw for the season from the first episode I wonder who makes the comment that they're just on the show to become the next Bachelor.

Most devastatingly it'd be one of the uber nice guys like Jake, but he seems too good hearted to be "that" guy. I'm tempted to look for spoilers to find out, but I'm trying to behave myself and just watch for a change.

I totally didn't hear that part in the previews!?!?!?!? Yikes. Did the person say "I'm just on here to be the next bachelor" or did someone else say "he's just on the show to be the next bachelor"?

I'm also curious who leaves next week. I think I might know who it is based on a rumor I heard but I'm not sure.

It was someone saying that someonehttp://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=1815638 else said they were just here to become the next bachelor.

But given the upcoming previews, and the early ones I totally think it could be legit.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS (No names, no serious details):
- One of the final 4 is supposedly one of the ulterior motives guys.
- There's a twist in one of the episodes: the bachelors vote for the man they'd like to eliminate, leaving one bachelor shocked and unhappy.

Kappamd 06-09-2009 03:48 PM

I am glad someone posted who went home. My DVR cut off at 9:33 for some reason so I missed all the drama. Good riddance to Dave and Juan. Both were grade-A d-bags in my book. She just needs to get rid of Wes, the breakdancer, and creepy-ass Tanner.

My picks are Jake, Ed, Reid, and Robby (although the bartender thing makes me ehhhhhh).

Vancouver IS really cool! It's a beautiful city.

Yes, it is!! Thank you! :) Vancouver is quite beautiful, especially in May-September. November to February can be a little "meh" with all the rain, but I guess that's what makes the plants grow nice and green! :)

AlphaXi_Husky 06-16-2009 11:18 AM

So what did people think of last night's episode?

I was definitely sad to see Ed leave, obviously Jillian was too, but that would be a very tough decision. At least he didn't wait until he was in the final three or something.

Right now I'm liking Kypton and Jesse. I like Michael, but I don't think Jillian feels a romantic connection with him. Tanner is weird and Wes is still a big ole D-bag. Love Jake, but I don't think Jillian does. And Reid and Robbie - meh.

CutiePie2000 06-16-2009 05:37 PM

Ha Ha...I like Robbie, but only as "Mr. Right Now" not as "Mr. Right". ;) HEE

I like Jake the Pilot and I thought Ed was a looker also.

I wonder what will happen with the overnight dates...the way that they portrayed it, they make it sound like 1 guy gets a case "E.D.", which would totally mortifying to have broadcast on national television. OMG!

DaffyKD 06-23-2009 12:57 AM

I wonder if the producers are once again pulling the strings. Her choices are just too.... um.... lets see.... oh I know .... IDIOTIC

AlphaXi_Husky 06-23-2009 12:59 AM

I can't believe she kept Wes. He's such a total d-bag and needs to GTFO. And I hope it's not producers pulling strings. I like to believe it's all real :)

AlphaXi_Husky 06-23-2009 01:07 AM

Whoa - just saw the previews for the rest of the season. Holy crap, looks like total craziness!

Whaaa? I didn't know that! Next time put it as a spoiler please!

ETA - I knew the part about Jake from the previews, but I didn't see anything about Ed.

srmom 06-23-2009 12:22 PM

I don't know about y'all, but as soon as Wes's CD comes out, I'm running to the store and buying it!!

NOT!!!!

What a creep! Somehow I think his grab for attention and fame is going to backfire!!!

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! (and all the rest of us women watching!!)

I agree - he will be to country music what Kevin Federline is to rap / hip hop.

Bachelorette Gossip

hey!
I have a Bachelorette Video blog that gets posted every week ... I'm a Canadian too just like Jillian so it's been fun to watch. check out the blog, there's some inside info and its good for a laugh. :) http://www.theringbearer.ca//wedstyle/index.html

lili.aphi 06-24-2009 05:05 PM

... also, I have to agree with eveyone on here. Wes's 3 word country song is going nowhere. He's so creepy

ilddd3 06-29-2009 10:21 PM

After tonight's show...All I have to say is "really?"

gee_ess 06-29-2009 11:04 PM

What?! She kept Wes? Jillian loses valuable credibility points in my book for this.

Bleh

kddani 06-30-2009 06:26 AM

She gets what she deserves. She's had more than enough huge red flags and straight up warnings about the guy. She's delusional if she thinks he's into her.

DaffyKD 06-30-2009 09:17 AM

For weeks now, the trailers have asked,"Will Jillian see Wes' true colors?" I have a feeling she has been told to keep him for the drama effect. Jake told her exactly how Wes was going to respond and told her almost word for word. Either he is extremely bright or it was all scripted.

Don't mind that Michael is gone, he was too immature.

DaffyKD

KDAngel 06-30-2009 11:07 AM

The spoilers I put up a few weeks ago said he'd [Wes] make it to the final 4, so this whole time I was assuming that'd be the case, but hoping otherwise. Guessing he goes next. At least I desperately hope so anyway.

srmom 06-30-2009 03:59 PM

After watching last night's show, I have to say it is like watching a badly scripted highschool performance where noone can quite remember their lines, and they are such bad actors that they seem like pieces of wood.

I mean come on, how many times did they have to reshoot the Ed reunion? It was so chopped together and stilted.

Then, while I hate Wes with a passion, why don't they just put a dastardly looking mustache that he can twirl on him since he is being painted as such a villain. Then put a halo on Jake for being so saintly and upstanding.

And - speaking of Jake - THAT CRYING SCENE - does he have no pride (or shame)!!! UGGGH

sigmadiva 06-30-2009 04:17 PM

^^^^^ My thoughts EXACTLY!!!!!!

The whole Wes / Jillian / Jake thing seemed SOOOOO high school!!!!

I was like "Wow! I remember this kinda drama going on between classes at the lockers!"

If they had bad 80's hair styles and were wearing Vans shoes and Ocean Pacific t-shirts, then this would have been my high school.

Ha ha ha... I think we went to the same HS!! ;):):D:p

AlphaXi_Husky 07-07-2009 12:58 AM

I'm so glad she finally sent Wes home - he is the biggest douche imaginable.

gee_ess 07-07-2009 09:47 AM

I predict Wes will be a big hit on the talk show scene. He is probably the only true villain who has ever been on The Bachelorette. What a schmo.

DaffyKD 07-10-2009 10:41 AM

Hope this link works. This is Wes talking to RealitySteve. Interesting!

AlphaXi_Husky 07-14-2009 01:13 AM

Wow - I'm honestly surprised. I thought for sure Ed was headed home.

Kiptyn is snooze-ville to me. Just no personality. Can't wait for the tell-all though!

ETA: and Ed's mankini = blech

A mankini?
A tanktop?
Not able to perform?
RED FLAG!

DaffyKD

Listening to it now!

srmom 07-14-2009 02:39 PM

After watching last night's episode, I cry BS on this whole show.

I'm sorry, but the "soft porn" moments with the oil -- YUCK! Then they turn the lights out, and voila! as soon as there is trouble, the cameras are back in the room??? Yeah sure.

I think the whole thing is an elaborate ruse to up the drama. Also, Wes says that there are stylists who chose the clothes. If so, why did they dress Ed up like an ice cream vendor at the carnival for the rose ceremony?

Now that they don't have Wes to kick around, or throw under the bus, it's Ed's turn.

I think I have lost my interest, it's just too fake, and I like a real love story, or at least a well acted one ;)

gee_ess 07-14-2009 06:55 PM

I am just so disappointed in what a zero Jillian is. I have to admit, I am not an avid, die-hard Bachelor/Bachelorettefan, but do watch often. So, last year, when I "met" Jillian, I thought, "Darling girl.Perfect Bachelorette" My word! She is one notch above jr high in her emotions, discussions, choice of words ("Like, I just don't know, like, if Wes is playing me or not.")

Watching this makes me realize why I am an off again/on again fan. It is just so contrived, and the same stuff happens season after season.

That said, I am sure I will be watching next week!
