The WORST Movies You Have Seen

My boyfriend and I decided to get Netflix because we don't really have very good cable at our apartment (it consists of about 10 channels and half of them are infomercials). We began ordering various movies and it got me to thinking: What are some of the WORST movies you have ever seen? I'll start...

1.) American Pie Presents: Beta House
2.) College
3.) Confessions of a Sorority girl (yes, I actually broke down and ordered it)
These three movies were very disappointing because I was hoping for something good-I love "College" based movies.

4.) The Haunting of Molly Hartley
5.) The....of Emily Rose (I forget the full name but, it has Emily Rose in it)

I'm sure I have a much longer list and I will def. be adding to it. I am just so irritated that we got some of these movies and they flat out SUCKED!

KSUViolet06 05-22-2009 11:02 PM

Glitter (you know, the Mariah Carey movie)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...Thank you for reminding me of that horrible movie, KSUViolet. I think I will need to make a running list somewhere in this thread of the random HORRIBLE movies we have seen-like the "Where did each GC member end up this rush" thread...

ASUADPi 05-23-2009 12:31 AM

Alexander- God that movie was awful! It was painful to sit through at the theater.

Tippiechick 05-23-2009 01:07 AM

Crank2. For anyone who knows me, that was painful to say... Jason Statham is a bit of a mild preoccupation of mine;) I LOVE his movies, usually.

This one was just BAD. As in, when-is-this-gonna-be-over kinda bad! But, his kick-ass body was enough to keep me in my seat.

epchick 05-23-2009 01:38 AM

Watchmen......worst way to spend 3 hours!

AlwaysSAI 05-23-2009 07:23 AM

Wolf Creek
Coraline (I paid $10 to see this 3D monstrosity)

jwright25 05-23-2009 07:52 AM

The English Patient. I've tried to watch it three or four times and still can't give a basic plot line. blech.

AGDee 05-23-2009 08:23 AM

I (heart, an actual heart symbol) Huckabees

I rented The Notebook, I thought, but the DVD in the case was actually this movie. It was so incredibly stupid.. and it had some big stars, Lily Tomlin and Dustin Hoffman so I would have expected it to be pretty good, but OMG, it was awful and it was definitely NOT The Notebook.

moe.ron 05-23-2009 11:30 AM

Battlefield: Earth
Starship Trooper 2

KSigkid 05-23-2009 11:42 AM

I thought "Talladega Nights" was pretty awful. "Dances with Wolves" is overrated, and "Robin Hood" was pretty terrible. Kevin Costner should have made "The Untouchables" (which I really like) his only non-baseball movie.

BetteDavisEyes 05-23-2009 12:01 PM

Sin City - 2.5 hours of my life that I'll never get back. Ugh!

AnchorAlum 05-23-2009 12:33 PM

Recent worst movie was Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.

Had to be the dumbest movie in at least 5 years. And if I were Jennifer Garner, I'd sue the makeup people. Was she pregnant in this movie? She looks like death warmed over in some of the scenes. Of course if there was one drop of chemistry between she and Matthew, it was lost on me.

You sound like Elaine from Seinfeld. I totally agree - I have never been able to get through it.

polarpi 05-23-2009 04:28 PM

Punch Drunk Love - I still don't get the plot of the story!

Xidelt 05-23-2009 04:36 PM

Titanic sucked. I would have paid to go down with the ship rather than be around Jack and Rose any longer.

Good point...Titanic was a terrible movie.

twinkle555 05-23-2009 08:00 PM

"Catwoman", the one with Halle Berry...sooooooo bad!

cheerfulgreek 05-23-2009 11:19 PM

There was this B rated fighting movie that I saw about a month ago, and it sucked so bad. I forgot the name of it though.

eta: It was about some cop who killed this other guy's girlfriend, and put him in prison. Well, when he got out, he went after the cop's gf, and kidnapped her. He had to figure out all of these riddles, in order to get her back...it was dumb.

I couldn't get through the book either!

end hijack

SWTXBelle 05-24-2009 02:58 PM

Casting my mind back, I find the bar for bad movies was set by "You Light Up My Life". Truly awful.

elusive47 05-24-2009 03:05 PM

I would have to say Domino. I feel sorry for anyone who actually paid to see this movie.

Eyes Wide Shut and Vanilla Sky were also terrible.

I may get flamed for this, but I couldn't stand Moulin Rouge or The Others.

psychdesire 05-24-2009 04:42 PM

Terminator Salvation.
Blah.

WinniBug 05-24-2009 04:59 PM

That sounds like a competitor for Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

This was me and Silence of the Lambs. I finally did get through it, and the only reason I'm glad I did is because I understand the references in South Park. But this was one of the most BORING movies I have ever seen.

Coyote Ugly sucked a lot and I feel really bad for the dudes who went to it thinking it was going to be a boobie flick.

One Of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing - one of those live action Disney deals. Mom & I walked out of the theater. Still have never done that for any other movie.

And I hated the most recent remake of Little Women because any movie where Winona Ryder calls herself ugly and acts like she's never going to get a man makes me ballistic. IMO the casting in that film was bad all around. (Eric Stoltz as John Brooke....PUH LEEZE...it would be funny to watch Pulp Fiction right afterwards.)

LucyKKG 05-24-2009 08:31 PM

I think it's called Lady in the Water...the only time I've walked out of a theater.

honeychile 05-24-2009 09:12 PM

The English Patient was more boring than watching paint dry. And to this date, Out of Africa is the only movie which caused me to bolt at intermission. To be fair, it may have been the company I was with.

Eyes Wide Shut and Vanilla Sky were also terrible, IMHO.

als463 05-24-2009 10:29 PM

Beloved with Oprah...what a horrible movie...I mean, really!

I hated the newer Superman (not too new-it was like about 3-4 years back) because there was a scene where he just flew for like 20 min. straight and you thought something was going to happen...like something exciting because he flew for so long and it had to be building up to something, right? Nope. He just landed. No more-no less. The end. I wanted to walk out of the movie theater then because it was such a LONG movie.

I forgot to say that while I was in Kuwait (after my tour in Iraq), there was a movie theater at Camp Doha. They were playing "The Hulk" with Edward Norton. As soldiers, we didn't have to pay for it because it constituted as R&R or something. Even though I didn't pay for it-I felt like I should have asked for my money back after walking out of the movie, mid way through. What an awful movie!

DrPhil 05-24-2009 11:36 PM

Inside Man:
Seriously, it was insultingly bad. The inclusion of a curiously smug Jodie Foster pissed me off. Her presence was random and they tried to make her sexy.

The Omen remake:
They messed up one of the horror staples of my childhood. That annoying little boy did nothing but stare. Slap him.

The rest must've been too bad to remember. I'll think of them. :)

Her cat routine was horrid. She's the type of actor who needs to be type casted. She can't act without type casting.

Speaking of Halle Berry:

"Perfect Stranger" had so much promise. They were too lazy with it or something.
"Monster's Ball"....huh? wtf?
"Bulworth," we walked out of the theater
"BAPS," from what I can remember, hated it
"Swordfish" her breast scene was so random and dumb.

DaemonSeid 05-24-2009 11:51 PM

With the exception of 6th Sense...anything with M. Night Shamylan

I feel sorry for anyone that wasted money on Soul Plane (and speaking of planes, Snakes on the Plane)

American Gangster was horrid too.

The Departed was a hideous remake.

DreamfulSpirit 05-25-2009 11:49 AM

Ok...I know that one movie is really old, but I saw it years ago, my mom and her friend rented it, and everytime I thought it was going to end...it just kept on going, and going, and going...thought this movie must have its own internal energizer bunny or something because it just never quit. That was "Mr. Wrong" with Ellen DeGeneres and Bill Pullman.

Another movie I hated was "Flight Plan" with Jodie Foster, when she and her daughter board a plane to Paris (I think) and her daughter goes missing during the flight. Really stupid movie...

PhoenixAzul 05-25-2009 11:53 AM

"Snakes on a Train". My best mate bought it in a Tesco check out line for £1.50. It was awful in that completely ridiculous kind of way. And I'm sorry to say we watched the whole thing. It ends with the demonically possessed snake-birthing immigrant turning into a massive snake and devouring the entire train. Yep. Bad CGI. Like an art student's freshman year computer drafting final.

But....Denzel!! Russell Crowe with his shirt open having sex on the kitchen counter!

Oh wait, you're a dude. Never mind. :D

Oh holy crap yes. So so awful.

I also hated Being John Malkovich and most of the Wes Anderson movies. Oooh, look, I'm quirky!

PeppyGPhiB 05-27-2009 10:00 PM

I actually loved (and own) some of the movies mentioned in this thread...Dances with Wolves, Eyes Wide Shut, Inside Man, Little Women, Moulin Rouge. But I dare ANYONE to say that Showgirls - with Elizabeth Berkley - is a good movie. It's so, so terrible, and has the most laughably bad dialogue I've ever heard. But I still bought it, because it was perfect for drinking games in college.

Showgirls is so bad, it is good. Her pronunciation of Versace and the continual comments about brown rice and vegetables kill me. I have Glitter and Pootie Tang in that same category.
