Piercings & Tatoos
Hey everyone, I just wanted to take a poll...
If you have a/some piercing(s), list what they are and what kind of jewerly you wear in them. Have you ever gone as a group with brothers/sisters to get piercings or tatoos? Was it fun??? I have two piercings in each ear, and I'm thinking of getting my belly button pierced. Does it hurt a lot? Does anyone know where I could get belly jewelry with a five-point crown on it? A bunch of my sisters and I are going to get belly piercings together, and we're looking desperetly for crown jewelry (cuz the crown is a Zeta thing). Anyone seen any online anywhere or at a store? |
Ooh. Peircings!
I have two holes in one ear, three in another. (including cartilage)
Let's see...I had my belly button peirced...and a bunch of my new sisters are going with me when I get my tounge peirced. hehehe. IF I get my tounge peirced, that is. Jessica |
I have two holes in each ear and my tounge pierced!! :p I actually pierced my own belly button myself like 2 years ago*dont ask it was a friendship thing with my best friend and I* I took it out though and havent gotten it redone. I know alot of people who say its not too painful though. My tounge didnt hurt at all though! I was so surprised! I am thinking that if I ever do get a tattoo*which I doubt besides I can't take pain* BUT if I ever do I am going to get a little bitty fairy! :D

I have both of my ears pierced, but only once in each ear. I refuse to get any more piercings because I have a very low tolerance for pain and also because I think too many piercings look unprofessional.
As for tattoos... I've always thought about getting a tattoo, but never have gone through with it. Years ago, I went with some sisters to watch one of my sisters get her tattoo finished (she was an art major and had designed it herself --- it had a lot of colors so the artist had to schedule 2 appointments so that he could finish it.) Watching her go through the experience made up my mind. No tattoo for me! If I could get through the pain, I think a small tattoo would look cool... But then I think about having a tattoo on myself when I'm 65 years old and having to explain it to my grandchildren. No thanks! :D |
I am normal looking I swear!!!
I have 3 holes in each ear(Two normal in both, than cartilage in one, and that thing that sticks out in the other.) I also have my belly button pierced. I am sure they have a crown post, but if they don't, just get a ring, and put a crown charm on it.:) I have a butterfly tattoo on the right side of my lower back. I am going with some of my sisters to get another tattoo on my ankle. I have not decided whether to get a violet, paw print(for a lion) or my letters. Good Luck finding the Crown stuff ZetaLuvBunny!

I have two holes in each ear, and my cartilage peirced in one ear also. I have 3 tattoos, one on my lower back, one on my shoulder, and one on my ankle. I also have my belly button pierced, which didn't hurt at all. It never got infected or anything, and I have a bar in mine, because I was told that if you get a hoop, it catches on your clothing easier? who knows. I swear, getting my ears pierced hurt worse than my belly button.

I have my eyebrow pierced. It didn't hurt at all. I have a slightly bent silver bar in it now. I like it a lot and did it a week after I got back to SD this semester. My parents are going to kill me when I go home for Thanksgiving!!

I have 3 holes in my left ear..one of the is in the cart
I have two tattoos..they are kind of hard to explain but I'll try. The one on my upper left arm is colored..it has a sun and a moon fighting with eachother. The moon is wrapped around the sun squishing it and the sun has it's rays wrapped around the moon...it is very detailed and took 4 hours to do...If I can find pics..I"ll post them. The other one is on my upper right arm...A chinese symbol for wisdonw and it is circled in a sort of sand storm design of colors which include blue, light blue, white, black and purple...I will post the pics when I can find them also. Why do I have these...well my mon always said there there was a struggle witin myself, and my good and bad sides were always fighting w/ eachother to shine through..the sun is the good, the moon is the bad...the moon is winning in the tattoo..LOL The symbol..I never wanted to go to college and I didn't make my decision until almost half way through my senior year of hs...when I told my mother that I was going to college..she broke down and started crying..because she didn't think I was going to go and she didn't want me to go into the military or end up working hard and getting paid little for the rest of my life. She said to me, "that my son is true wisdom in itself.....hence the symbol..... that's it in a nutshell d |
Hey OohTeenyWahine...
Sandy, if you read this thread would you please repeat that story about the girl at your school who got what she thought was her name tattooed in Hawaiian on her lower back? I searched but couldn't find it and I couldn't let a body art thread go on without mentioning it! Yikes...
|
that wasn't referring to my wisdom symbol was it? I know for a fact that it's the symbol...one of my friends is originally from china....he brought the design to the tattoo artist for me....

I have a Tattoo!!!
[FONT=century gothic][COLOR=green]Well, boys and girls, I'm pretty plain when it comes to piercings, just a single hole in each ear, but I have a tattoo of a turtle on my right hip bone! I love it and I even named it (Zuri - swahili for love) If i knew how to put pictures in these posts - i'd be all about that! I know i'll get another one, if not too - It hurt like all get out, but I am very glad i did ti

oooooooooopppppsss
sorry everyone forgot to do the whole close tags thing! - sometimes i get too excited that i'm posting!

I now only have 2 holes in my body, one in each ear.... :( I had to take out my belly button ring this summer due to a bad infection caused by a reaction to metal... I have to have titanium... I cant have anything else now... well I think I can have gold... Im getting it re-done soon..... yay!
About going as a group, we had a bunch of my sisters go... a few got their tounges, one got her nipple and one got her belly button. :) MAKE SURE THE REPUTATION OF THE PLACE IS GOOD! Make sure they are clean, use gloves, different needles... etc! I trust two places, one at home and one here... About different rings, when you first get pierced, get a hoop, not a barbell.. because theyre much eaiser to clean! Then when its healed, look for a barbell with the crown, or try to get one with a charm on it, Im sure you will be able to find one!!!! <3Ali |
I've heard it's better to get the barbells at first and not the hoops...but that's just what i heard.....

Does anyone or their bros/sisters have tatoos of their letters?
If so, what do they look like? |
tatty
I've always wanted to get one, but I convince myself I cannot because of the future, and now I just see it as it being too late, I'm 21 and I feel that's too old to be getting a tattoo. However, were I to go through with it, I'd most likely get one of two things, either a Griffin or I'd have to get this symbol that I created that combines the meditative buddhist style with everlong concerns. It's the most simplistic drawing that represents me, and my motives absolutely. I'd most likely get it off-centered on my lower back (essentially just above my arse), or on my upper-right shoulder blade. But I think my wild-times have passed long ago, so it's not a likely move. |
one of my pledge brothers has his letter tattooed on his left shoulder...they are black with yellow outlining (shadowing) it looks bad ass! He also has his nickname above the letters and our pledge class name and year under the letters..and the letters are in type of wavy like design..damn I need to take pictures and post them...

one more...
A common thing for Brothers of Sigma Chi to do is to get the badge tattooed on their chest in the spot they woud wear it, slightly tilted, just as they'd wear it. Nearly 45% - 50% of our chapter has a Sigma Chi tattoo. Some get letters, many get the norman shield with the letters too, but a third cool one I've seen from my bros is the entire crest, just pretty small, but they're all so cool, I love them.
|
I don't have my letters tattood, but I do have a turtle on the top of my foot. Actually, two of my sisters did have their letters tattood on them, and found out about a week later that they were not supposed to. I'm not sure if it's exactly a national rule, or just maybe a chapter one, but it does make since. Delta Zetas (and I'm sure most nat'l orgs) are not allowed to wear any form of their letters if they are doing anything that would look bad (ie the bar, drinking, etc.), and if you had a tattoo, you would be wearing your letters permanently. It's just something you might want to check out- I'm not sure about the technicalities of it.

yes..I've contemplated getting our crest on my chest..but that would be my third tattoo..and I think that two is enough now..but I am still thinking about it..it wouldn't be visible with clothing on...and it's not like I'm getting my face tattooed!!!
I hate that..you see people that have their arms and legs, necks, totally tattooed...I mean really, what kind of purpose does that serve? How do you really appear to an interviewer? Unless you are a tattoo artist! d |
Purpleturtle-did the one on the top of your foot hurt? I've always wanted on there, but am kind of scared...
we're not allowed to get our letters tattooed on either.. |
one of my friends who is a sigma chi has the sgma chi cross tattooed on his lower back... it looks really good
|
A bunch of my brother have small letter on their ankles and a few have big ones on theri arms. I don't have and tats or piercings.
|
Honestly, it didn't hurt nearly about as bad as I thought it would. I spent almost an hour crying and jerking away whenever he got close w/ the needle (gun?). I felt like an idiot when I actually let him do it because it wasn't that bad. The only thing is that I guess he kept hitting a nerve or something, because my foot kept jerking involuntarily. I like it because it is so easy to cover up if need be, and it's a relatively original place to get a tattoo.
