An Ice Cream-y Rush Story: Fall 2008
 

So I’m a terrible procrastinator, so I’m going to tell my recruitment story! Should take up enough time, right? I’ve been dying to tell it for quite some time now…

I had never really thought about rushing before the summer before school started- I wasn't a tomboy at all, but I didn’t consider myself "Elle Woods" either. But once I started rush, I knew Greek Life was what I had been missing all along!

I have VERY fond memories of my rush, and I even get slightly angry sometimes when ladies on my campus say how hard it was or how demanding- I love talking to people, just MEETING so many new faces (especially since I was a lowly freshman) and having great fun with it all! My school is only semi-competitive (Panhel bills it as not an uber competitive rush process, although I’m not sure how many people on campus would agree). That being said, emotions did swing veryyy high AND low for me over rush.

We have ten houses on our campus... so

Code will be ICE CREAM FLAVORS! <3 I need you guys to help me find 10 delicious flavors!

As I’m sure you’ve all felt during your rush weeks, it’s the most intense mix of highs and lows… such that I had never felt before.

I know, I want to pick an ice cream, but I'm skeptical given recent events. The part that makes me suspicious is how she's asking us to pick the flavors of ice cream, like how eb/b20 asked us to pick if she should use football, disney, etc...

I think y'all are right, but I still vote for Gold Medal Ribbon!

i admit, I chose bad timing after the whole eaglesbaby thing...

i'll post mine in the summer when I have more time anyways =]


PS- I hope this doesn't hurt other people with retro recruitment stories (i know that I love reading them, and a whole bunch of other GC'ers who don't necessarily post all that much). Let's try to give people the benefit of the doubt? Looking back on my first post and comparing it to eaglesbaby and whatever the other username was, i can totally see how it seems like we write the same- which is kinda funny/awkward. But like seriously guys, retro recruitment stories are my fave part of GC... anyways, sorry again about sounding so like eaglesbaby! If someone else had posted the beginning to my story so soon after the eaglesbaby thing, I probably would've called them out too

Errr, I guess it's hard to "not defend" in a post... looks like defending any way you put it! Sorry, GC for all the confusion. I seriously am gonna switch from "defending" to "apologizing"... I feel bad for unwillingly continuing the eb debacle! SORRYYYY!! (not even being sarcastic!)

Italiachica, I don't think you were the same person as eaglesbaby or Blondie20 at all. Please continue your recruitment story, because except for the xoxo, your writing style really doesn't seem like that big of a deal - I feel like everyone's online writing styles are pretty similar. I think everyone is jumping the gun here due to recent events. Do you honestly think that, if this was the same person as eaglesbaby/blondie20, she would be stupid enough to use the same signature? Come on.

Clearly, Eaglesbaby, et al are trying to establish a place in the GC Hall of Fame. And it's working! The next time a crazy person shows up, everyone will be saying, "Remember when eaglesbaby...?"

So I just finished reading the whole eaglesbaby thing, and I have to comment on this thread, because something caught my eye.

I usually stay away from recruitment threads, but I will say if you already a GCer, just post your recruitment story under your "real" screenname. Who really cares if we know what sorority you join, it doesn't make it any less interesting to read. I mean look at Leslie Ann's, hers was a pretty awesome story.

Since she's already outed, that was who I thought it was, too. When you have time, cvtip12, come back and tell your story.

Yes cvtip12 is italianchicaa, she didn't want everyone to know the ending before she started the beginning (since her signature is about tri delt) so she made a fake name.
