Drinks at Starbucks

Okay well i can actually count the times ive been to starbucks on one hand because i dont like coffee at all, but last friday i went there because i just had a craving for a drink from there. Anyway i get in there and im looking to see what drinks they have there that dont have coffee in it and the lady is looking at me kind of like irritated that im taking so long- which was pointless because i was the only one in line.

I ended up buying a Tazoberry with cream. It was okay, but i wouldnt get it again because i dont like rasberry flavored anything. When i was paying, i saw a drink called caramel apple cider which sounded yummy- so i'll have to get that next time.

The frapuccinos are okay- i can drink those from time to time, but my question to all of you is...... What kind of drinks do you recommend that dont have coffee in it- i know there arent much considering its a coffee shop- but there must be more than two, i hope so anyway!

next time you go in..ask for a milk steamer...I don't think they have them on the menu..but I know up here they will still make them for you. All it is is steamed milk with flavoring in it..your choice of course..I always get vanilla or almond..then they put whipped cream on top...really good....

Mocha frapuccinos are the best!!!! 4stars !!!! a must try.;)

StrokerTKE 09-30-2001 08:41 PM

must be nice...we don't have any starbucks in this stupid town.

CutiePie2000 09-30-2001 09:02 PM

My picks...

In summer: mocha frappacino (like a coffee slurpee)

In winter: Cafe Mocha or the Chai Tea Latte.

YUM!

AlphaChiGirl 09-30-2001 09:11 PM

I'm partial to a decaf skim Caramel Macchiato.

Steeltrap 09-30-2001 09:17 PM

White Chocolate Mocha or Mocha Valencia, w/orange.
Tall, no bigger.
Always have to have the whipped cream on it, and put some vanilla powder or nutmeg on top.

Mmmm, Starbucks....

Damn, now I have to get up early and go to starbucks!!!

Thanks guys!:(

oh yeah, the White Choc Mocha is yummy!!!

xok85xo 09-30-2001 10:59 PM

mmm..starbucks

I'm a starbucks addict(god bless drive-thru!)..as for non-coffee drinks..
Steamed milk w/cinnamon is super yummy..and I HATE milk..also chai tea lattes are really good too :)

Turtlegirl 10-01-2001 12:39 AM

God Bless Starbuck's!!!
I LOVE Mocha Frappucinos - they rock my world!!!
They are even better when you sprinkle the Sugar in the Raw stuff on top of them. Its like unrefined sugar (I think) and its makes the frappucinos twice as delicious.:)

bucutie02 10-01-2001 01:46 PM

white chocolate mocha and the steamed milk sound good. I think i might go in there and ask for the milk steamer, hopefully they wont look at me like an idiot. What kind of flavors can they add to it? Has anyone tried the caramel apple cider?

thanks for all the responses! :)

The1calledTKE 10-01-2001 01:59 PM

Geez turtlegirl, Iget very alert after drinking a moch frap. But you must be hyper as heck with all that sugar added to the caffine.

Here's the thing that gets me about Starbucks

They freaking copyrighted Venti--it's a frickin' italian word--it means twenty. How can they get away with that?!! Plus I worked at another place that served espresso (as well as sandwhichs, soups salads and bakery stuff) but we had to change our signage since we would have to pay a royalty to starbucks if we used venti. Is that not some absolutely crazy stuff?

The1calledTKE 10-01-2001 02:19 PM

I think your company could challenge starbuck's copyright if your company could afford the lawyers. There are Italians in the USA and if they write down venti on anything they sale starbuck could sue? No way the copyright would stand up in court.

AlphaGam1019 10-01-2001 02:34 PM

iced chai teas are wonderful

another fave is iced latte with a shot of vanilla syrup!

I love cold drinks :)

I'm not the biggest fan of my hometown, really. One thing that gladdens me though, is though we have tons of Starbucks around town, Everyone prefers a more local coffee shop called Heine Brothers. They have a larger selection and a cooler atmosphere. Me, I just get my NN (Nantucket Nectars) there because I'm not a coffee fan despite trying it a few times. But the reason I'm proud is that they don't choose the big name over the nicer place which is usually what is done here.

TechADPI 10-01-2001 04:25 PM

Starbucks!!

I don't like coffee, so when I go I almost always get the Hot Chocolate. It is the BEST!! I also like the Caramel Apple Cider. It is nice on a cool fall day. So is the Chai Tea.:p

zntke711-
Yep I definitely have plenty of energy after sipping one of my sugar/caffeine concoctions! I had to start limiting my consumption because I was a full-fledged Starbuck's addict for a while there. I knew it was out-of hand when all these $4 charges from Starbuck's started showing up on my credit card bill - if I didn't have any cash on me (which I never do) I would just charge it! When I actually saw on paper how many times I went there, I decided to slow down. But I haven't had one in about a month now, so maybe I should go...:)

I am a Double Expresso Mochchino Latte Vendi. Yeah, I dont like to blink either. When I am really super tired, (got like 2 hours of sleep) and have to be up for like 24 more, I turn to Starbucks. That and a coke about 4 hours later will have me on my game for another 12 hours. Hey, its either that or bathtub crank. I prefer the Vendi. (Although the efferct is roughly the same.)

When Starbucks opened on campus in August...I was doing backflips. I was one of the first ppl in line so I got a drink and a scone on the house!

My favorite's the Caramel Mocha Frappucino (Grande b/c Venti's too big) with Whipped Cream. It's enough sugar and caffeine to keep me wired for the day. I've already filled up 3 frequent customer cards and we've only been in school for a month!

Thrillhouse 10-02-2001 12:25 PM

caramel or smores mochas are the best! Anything with expresso is a close second though :D

bucutie02 10-02-2001 09:38 PM

yesterday i went in and got a caramel apple cider and it was sooo good!! Today i went in and got the iced white chocolate mocha. That was pretty good too! Next time i go in there i want to get a vanilla steamer. I looked on the menu and they do have steamed milk and also steamed cider.

Dont you all think their desserts look good too? Today i bought a lemon bar since i went on my lunch break. It was really good, but not something i would get very often!

I think im becoming a starbucks-a-holic!! I dont want to go in there everyday because pretty soon the people that work there will recognize me! :D

You think that's bad?? I essentially because friends with the guy that worked at starbucks, and ended up dating someone else who worked there(but I had known him before that..but still :) )..it was nice though because once they get to know you they start to hook you up..mm free starbucks

bucutie02 11-26-2001 05:57 PM

Have any of you tried the holiday drinks they have in there like the Eggnog Latte or the Gingerbread Latte. I like regular eggnog and love gingerbread but i dont know if i would like it in a latte. Just wanted some of your opinions before i try it for myself!

HeidiHo 11-26-2001 06:29 PM

It seems like you guys are speaking Greek, no pun intended. There's a zillion Starbucks around here but I've never been to one. What does all this stuff mean? Vendi, Latte, Grande, steamer...sheesh
Heidi

bucutie02 11-26-2001 06:38 PM

small =tall
medium=grande
venti=large
a lattte is a drink with expresso, an eggnog latte consists of expresso, eggnog and whipped cream i think

a milk steamer is just steamed milk and they can add vanilla, caramel or whatever flavor you want to it. You should stop in and try something, even if you arent a coffee lover. I hate coffee but love mocha frappuccinos :D

valkyrie 11-26-2001 06:48 PM

Okay, I know this was supposed to be about non-coffee drinks, but I just have to say that there is nothing in the world that is greater than a soy mocha from Starbucks. One sip of that in the morning and suddenly I remember why life is worth living. It's that good.

IowaHawkeye 11-26-2001 07:02 PM

we don't have a Starbucks in town... but we do have coffee heaven in the form of a place called the Java House.. i could live there... their drinks are phenominal :D

something non coffee i've always loved that you can get almost everywhere - italian sodas - especially peach ones!

TriSigmaTX 02-18-2002 12:10 AM

White Chocolate Mocha.
Enough said!!!

ShaedyKD 02-18-2002 12:47 AM

Call me absolutely crazy, but I am a die-hard coffee fan, have been drinking since I was about 10, and I do not like Starbucks. It leaves a gross aftertaste...I know all coffee does, but it's not even coffee tasting, it tastes absolutely gross to me, so I don't drink Satrbucks coffee anymore. Does anyone else notice this aftertaste?
