I cannot think of a good black sitcom, but I did love City of Angels.

LOL! I miss Martin.

I like the "Homeo and Juliet" episode

Julie, Julie, Give me one mo' chaaance

Senusret I 03-24-2009 11:50 PM

I never found Martin to be funny.

Girlfriends: When Joan finally got proposed to.

Good Times: When JJ got shot part II, when James visits the shooter in jail and feels sorry for him.

A Different World: The first Kappa Lambda Nu episode

The Game: No particular favorite moment yet.

The Cosby Show: The episode where Theo came back and all his stuff was gone and everybody pretended it was a rooming house.

Martin not funny? That's blasphemy, kid...

I used to like GF when Toni was on. When she left, they seemed like they were stretching a bit.

I don't know of any good black tv shows.. if so they are over-ruled by black reality tv.. I do like "The Game" but I hardly ever get to see it since its been moved to Friday nights.

I've seen a few episodes of The Game but couldn't really get into it.

Just thought of some more moments!

Living Single - When Kyle sings My Funny Valentine to Max
Fresh Prince - When Lisa is pledging and holds Will in the woods
Martin - When Pam gets hypnotized and starts acting like Martin

But I think my favorite is from the Cosby Show when the family is celebrating the grandparents' anniversary. Rudy was killing it LOL

Honeykiss1974 03-25-2009 08:30 AM

Lincoln Heights is a "good black show" that is still on the air (ABC Family). :)

I loved the Cosby Show, Different World, and Martin :D They were the best sitcoms ever!!

Little32 03-25-2009 10:07 AM

Who remembers that episode of Fresh Prince where Lisa is pledging her sorority and locks Will in the cage :). Not that part, but the outtakes where Carleton is running across all of the sets like a mad man. That makes me lol to this day.

Fresh Prince had a lot of good moments.

I never found Martin that funny either. (Except for Brothaman from the fifth--holding up four fingers--floor.)

nikki1920 03-25-2009 11:48 AM

Living Single: when Kyle and Max finally ended up in bed together; any episode when she said "ride the maverick!"

Fresh Prince: Any episode with Aunt Helen

A Different World: all of them. BABY, PLEASE!!! lol.. And Dwayne? Was she nekkid?

Low C Sharp 03-25-2009 11:52 AM

I can't believe that no one has mentioned "What's Happening?"

I LOVED Dee. I swear I went to grade school with that girl.

That's a great episode. I miss Fresh Prince.

My favorite episode is when Will is trying to teach Ashley how to fight, to defend herself against a school bully. She's twitching and going "mind ya business...justjust mind ya business." My roommates used to go around doing that. LOL!

You know, I've been watching that show recently, but I don't think it's in the same league as some of the other shows.

The DeeDees would get it though...LOL

KSUViolet06 04-01-2009 11:45 PM

Nothing will ever replace The Fresh Prince in my life.

I DVR episodes from Noggin, watch them, and laugh like I have never seen them before, seriously.

JKenny 04-02-2009 07:41 PM

Fresh Prince
Hangin with Mr. Cooper
One on One, I think that was the name of it
The Boondocks, very funny to me

And my mom watches House of Payne all the time
Is it Payne or Pain, My girl, well she was my girl until I found out she was pregnant by someone who wasn't me, her last name was Payne

K_I_A_Nupe 04-09-2009 10:11 PM

What about the Fresh Prince episode where Will's Father left out of his life AGAIN!!!!?

I was hurt for him. It was pretty sad, but great acting!

PrettyBoy 04-10-2009 12:57 AM

I forgot about "Living Single". I think I used to watch that just to hear the intro song. I love that song.

OneTimeSBX 04-10-2009 11:53 AM

I remember Sparks. Was it paired w/ Out All Night and was it on UPN????

deltadevil 04-11-2009 04:27 PM

TV from the early/mid 90's was the best. Best music videos, best cartoons, best everything. TV shows are not worth watching now.

tld221 04-12-2009 04:18 PM

Lol yall took it back man!

Who remembers a show that came on TGIF, (or ABC some time of night, maybe not TGIF) it was a tyler perry-type who was raising a bunch of adopted kids in a big house? I swear Kyla Pratt was on it (is that her name?)

They would call the grandma "mama jo" or something.

I distinctly remember the Family Matters episode when Laura and Ted were going to have sex. And the one where she got a second job and kept spraying her face with water.

And I remember the night Moesha premiered. I and my friends waited for WEEKS for it to come on. We swore that's how life would be when we became teenagers.

On Our Own

ealymc 04-13-2009 10:57 AM

I'm shocked I haven't seen mention of the Different World episode where Kim is pledging Whitley's sorority! "Big Sister Gorgeous One, so lovely to behold!"

Living Single is definitely one of my favorites and I WILL be adding it to the DVR list when I get home... :)

K_I_A_Nupe 04-24-2009 03:05 PM

I was watching Living Single today.

The episode that guest started Morris Chestnut came on. The viewers had to pick one of the girls to date him. They chose Kadejah and she was pissed at the end of the date lol.

I forgot how cheap he was on the date lol.

Just sharing

Kappachino3Klub 04-24-2009 04:14 PM

OK. Who remembers the episode of the Cosby show where Theo is getting bad grades in school so Cliff decides to take Monopoly money and show him how hard it would be to take care of his self with out an education? Theo is holding on to about 30 dollars worth of fake cash and Cliff asks him..."so how are you going to eat?" and jacks 20 bucks..lol. Theo starts with this heartfelt dialogue "Dad, I don't love you because you're a doctor, I love you because you're my dad, so you should love me not because I make good grades, but because I'm your son!!" Cliff stares at him for a minute and responds " Boy that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of in my life!" Now you going to make better grades cuz i said so, I brought you in this world, and I'll take you out!!!"

This episode was hilarious:D

jojapeach 04-24-2009 04:19 PM

^^^ Classic! "You did this to me. I thought y'all was my peeps!"

The Cosby Show
- I remembered when Claire was p!$$ed (not just upset) at Vanessa for lying again right to her face, and she slapped her. It was just memorable because you rarely saw Cliff and Claire lose it. I loved the drinking game episode where Vanessa got drunk at a friend's house party.

A Different World - I loved the two part wedding episodes and any episodes dealing with pledging (I knew I wanted to be Greek so badly back then). Actually, I still love the dorm step show episode, too.

Living Single - The finale where Max and Kyle finally get real and get together. I watch on TV1 a lot.

New York Undercover - Sure it was mutli-cultural, but it was part of my must-see TV on Thursdays.

The Game - I am straight addicted. It's just great TV that gets better with every episode.

The Fresh Prince - The father episode was great. So was Carlton losing his virginity, too.
