Dollhouse

This is the new show created by Joss Whedon (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame).

Is anyone watching?

I have watched it from the start and I'm still somewhere in the middle. It's entertaining at times and just dumb at others yet I continue to watch.

I started watching and I pretty much like it. There's a lot they can do with it to make it really, really interesting so I'm hopeful. It's not my usual type of show but I do like her a lot so I'll keep watching. Plus some of my shows aren't showing right now so I watch it online when I have time :)

I'm a fan of Joss Whedon and Eliza Dukshu. That being said, I found it kind of blah. I'll watch a second episode before I rule it out though.

srmom 03-09-2009 10:15 AM

My husband and I watched it, thinking it had an interesting premise, but uggh, it's dumb! I wish Halo (from battlestar) had found a better place to move on to now that battlestar is ending :(

BetteDavisEyes 03-09-2009 08:29 PM

It didn't get interesting for me until the 3rd episode. The first two were so-so. This last episode was one of the better ones. I'll still keep watching now that Life on Mars has been cancelled. :p I have to have a replacement show. LOL!

Saw the first and Ti-vo'd the rest, i haven't gotten a chance to watch them yet :-( but i enjoyed the first enough to Ti-vo.

Agreed, it's gotten better as it's gone on. Next week is supposed to be really good. I'll continue to tune-in for the time being to see what happens.

Mike thinks that the FBI guy is Alpha b/c he saw a spoiler item in a magazine that mentioned Alpha being someone we had already seen.

Phrozen1ne 03-15-2009 02:21 PM

"Did I fall asleep?"

aephi alum 03-15-2009 05:39 PM

For a little while.

BetteDavisEyes 03-21-2009 07:19 PM

Last night's episode was a better one. I was surprised by the sleeper doll being the clingy neighbor. I didn't see that one coming. I'm still curious as to who the hell Alpha is. I used to think it was the FBI guy but they have him on that tap and see him so it's not him. Who the heck is it?

I'm still watching b/c I'm really curious. The show gets better each week.

I just saw this last night...I had no other choice since I'm stuck in a hotel room in Boston. Can you say "BORING"?

Here's an idea. Don't watch it again. Problem solved.

RaggedyAnn 03-22-2009 05:19 AM

I have to agree. It is getting better-though maybe it is just taking me a while to get used to the actors in new roles? I liked the cult episode. I'm glad they finished the "dollhouse" drama though this week. That just didn't fit quite right.

I'm not enamored, but there really isn't anything in that time slot to compete with it, so I'll give it a couple of more weeks.

ASUADPi 03-22-2009 10:26 AM

I really wanted to like the show. I was looking forward to it (Joss Whedon rocks), but I just couldn't get into the show. It was very boring to me.

aephi alum 03-22-2009 03:42 PM

I think it got off to a slow start, but it's improving.

It's interesting to see the variety of things people engage the dolls to do. I was concerned that most, if not all, of the engagements would be about sex. Certainly a lot of them are, but Echo has also been a bodyguard, a hostage negotiator, etc.

madmax 03-24-2009 02:15 PM

The show is kind of stupid. The character kind of comes off as stupid each week when she gets reprogrammed and she says, "Did I fall asleep?"

Dushku should have been cast as the Bionic Woman. It is kind of the same show without the reprogramming.

KDAngel 05-12-2009 03:32 AM

I don't know, after watching the whole Alpha bit last week and seeing how FBI dude is now going to be more integrated into the Dollhouse world I'm kind of liking it more. Definitely a show that I'd like to see picked up for another season.

BetteDavisEyes 05-12-2009 10:40 AM

I am am having a hard time getting past that guy cast as Alpha. For me, he'll always be Steve the Pirate from the movie DODGEBALL. :p

For me, he'll always be Wash from Firefly. I would have liked to hear Alpha say "I am a leaf on the wind" :p
