Hazing KKI's?
http://www.dentonrc.com/sharedconten....1dd3aefe.html
There was never a hazing problem when I was a student, I was very shocked to read about this. |
I'm having trouble understanding why one would submit to physical violence in order to join an auxiliary.

Perhaps it's because I have never gone to school that had then, but I think it's so odd. Is this group recognized by Kappa Alpha Psi as an official thing? |
Quote:
KAPsi nationally does not recognize any of these auxilliary and "little sister" groups. |

I think there's another one called Kappa Diamonds I heard of here on GC. I mean, perhaps it's my naive NPC mind, but why go through all that for K and a <>? You just pledged a letter and a shape. Seriously? Like Sesame Street. |

There are a few of these organizations for each of the BGLO frats. The only frat that nationally and officially recognizes their auxilliary is the Iotas with the Iota Sweethearts. :) There are people who wonder why we go through ANYTHING for our symbols and so forth. I don't think too highly of auxilliaries in general but my opinion varies by the campus. Some of the auxilliary members I knew 10+ years ago were really great women who were extremely active on campus and in the community. 99% of the ones I knew used it as a stepping stone to a BGLO sorority. |
^^^ Well said.

Oscar as Pledgemaster? Count von Count going "52. 52 push-ups ah-ah-ah" "elmo loves getting ready for probate" Of course, most of them normally don't have feet, so the stepshow would be rather odd. Though to the average non-greek, is a woman joining a group represented by a K and a Diamond any stranger than joining a group represented by a K and a Triangle? (Kappa Delta (an NPC sorority)) Randy |
^^^ LOL!
ETA: I've been to Denton plenty of times and have yet to see a KKI. I had no idea they even had a presence up here. I can't believe these women would subject themselves to hazing for an auxiliary organization. I didn't even know they were recognized on the campus. Oh well. |
OOPS

It was my understanding that there was a chapter at either North Texas or a city wide Denton Chapter, b/c when we were about to bring my sorority to campus 2 of the girls dropped from our interest group to pledge KKI instead, I hear one of them was among the 5 who were arrested:o |

As far as wanting to get caught, hell, that one girl is blatantly smiling for her jail photo. She's either clueless, or proud of herself, or both. And to be unrecognized by the campus administration, but still post flyers for rush week? That's a twelve-foot-high blinking neon target. |

All of that to be a Kappa Sweetheart? SERIOUSLY?
|
My favorite part of the report, when the officer says, "It's a loose organization."
Toooo true... |
