If You Burnt one CD
If You Burnt one supa-phat CD, what all would you put on it?
I'm asking cause I just made such a phenominal cd, it makes me so happy to hear it, so I thought I'd see what you guys would put on your one superphat CD, if all the songs stick to one genre, I'll probably burn it, so make it good mine is:
So this is my list...it's songs that, though it wasn't meant for this theme, when you hear it you think, I want to hear these songs on the radio when I wake up next to the girl you're with/love/whatever. Actually the Bela Fleck song isn't on mine cause I couldn't find it when I was recording, but it's only a 45 second addition, but it's just awesome. Not so much each time because of the words, but the melodies also, and the passion in their voices too. Cory |
Linkin Park: Crawling, and One step closer
Weezer: maybe three or four songs from them Peter Gabriel: Sledgehammer An oukast song or two |
The list is not yet complete, but it would include:
|
My Own personal CD guaranteed to provoke an emotional catharsis. For times when you just gotta go out driving and sing at the top of your lungs...
Offspring: Feelings Garbage: Special SR-71: Right Now Orgy: Blue Monday Lo Fidelity All Stars: Battleflag/Pigeonhead Chumbawumba: Whatever happened to Mary? Blink 182: The World We Know Harvey Danger: Flagpole Sitta Eve 6: On the Roof Again Vertical Horizon: Shackles Nickelback: How You Remind Me Puddle of Mud: Control Alanis Morrisette: You Oughta Know |
Ok, here's my list:
U2: In God's Country Dave Matthews: Granny Radiohead: Subterranean Homesick Alien Nirvana: On A Plain Pearl Jam: All These Yesterdays Smashing Pumpkins: 1979 Rolling Stones: Can't You Hear Me Knocking AC/DC: Back in Black The Police: When the word is running down Pearl Jam: Porch Led Zeppelin: What Is and What Should Never Be Led Zeppelin: Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp Miles Davis: All Blues Herbie Hancock: Vein Melter Stevie Wonder: Living For the City Stone Temple Pilots: Lounge Fly David Bowie: Fame All this is just a great mix that invigorates and relaxes me at once. Good driving cuts. damn, I hope this all fits on one CD. But normally I eschew mix CDs and burn "actual albums". Too many mixes spoil one's CD collection, at least in my view. |

Hmmm . . . I guess I cheated . . .
I have some of the same songs or artists from all your lists on my CD. . . but I have that neat car stereo that plays Data CD's with Mp3's on them, remember?
So I made one cool CD for driving, but it has 95 songs on it! ;) I'm greedy though and wish it would fit more . . . and lazy, I don't feel like having to change to another burned one!.:) |

awesome selections... Ironically, I just remembered that Jill Sobule song about 3 months ago, which is recent compared with the age of the song, and DL'd it and the same thing went for Princes 'Seven,' at the height of my musical taste in 8th grade, it was my fav song, for sure. Also, those are def some of my fav songs from Phish & GD too...I might make that cd just to honor those selections (minus the Nsync tho), as well as yours KSig RC (have you seen U.L. in concert...very good) I like your guys taste! |

Thanks for bumping this! I'll be making a sweet CD tomorrow now! I forgot about most of these songs!
|
kinda long. A few great places to get music if you like any of these bands is K Records website, epitonic.com, thecrutch.net, subpop.com and oddly enough download.com cos they're all legit which is always nice. |
Have any of you heard The Weakerthans?
They're REALLY good - somewhere between Death Cab, Pedro, Old 97s and Country music And one of their guys is from Propagandhi - an old progressive post-punk band from Canada terribly counter-governmental and liberal <-- neither here nor there - but very good (most of the time). Anyway - check them out if you can - "none of the above" is amazing |
