Do you post in other forums?

Do you post in other forums or read other forums on GC?

Personally, I read other forums other then ZPB, as well as post on some if the topic interests me. I don't see a problem with it, and don't feel like it's a slap in the face to my own beloved sorority. I have noticed that I don't see many other people other then my Sorors posting in this forum, and from the looks of things don't look like many others are visiting. Is it an explanation for that? I also noticed when I start a post on certain forums I get no replies, or very few, or my post gets deleted or told to do a search. What's really going on? This should be all love............

CrimsonTide4 09-23-2001 03:33 PM

Speaking only for myself

Hello
I post all over the place. I have posted here a few times. When I post, I look for threads that interest me.

As a moderator, I find it to be unnecessary to post the same topic in more than one forum. If I am going to reply to the thread, I will reply where I first find it.

As far as doing a search, yes people should do that. A lot of topics are discussed more than once, i.e. relationships in one of their facets.

What I do is go to the main page and look at the list of topics that are being discussed currently. I am always going through the DST old threads to pull an old one back to the top.

Special1920 09-23-2001 06:53 PM

Thanks

Thank you Crisomtide for your reply. I like the Delta board and find it very visitor friendly, never had a problem there.
I post the same question on 2 different forums today, my reasoning was that of course I was going to post in the Zeta forum, then I wanted to post on the forum that gets the most traffic, because not everyone visits my house.
As for searching, I actually did, looked at 78 pages, could not find my topic or anything close. Went back to Nov. ,99. How's that for searching? Unless it was under some off the wall subject line, I couldn't find it. But I respect everyones house rules, no biggie.

CrimsonTide4 09-23-2001 07:01 PM

When in Rome Do as

I know that a lot of people do not come to the Zeta forum but in a way that is good. You have the chance to get to know your sorors and build a tight little community.

As far as AKAs go and their policies for their forum, I can respect that. . . They have 1932(give or take) topics:eek: which is a whole lot of talking. Understandably they want topics that are not repeats. The same goes for DST, we have 600+ threads, at one time we had 800 but we cleaned shop and merged threads. If we kept all of the threads we had, it stands to reason that we don't need to see the same thread, here in the Zeta forum and in our house.

Our forums all have unique features. The more you interact across the street and around the corner, the more likely your neighbors will come down the street for a ZETA GC cookout -- metaphorically speaking.

Leave the lights on for us and we will be by.

It does work. ;) :D

I'm not sure if your question was only for ZphiB or not. Personally speaking, I usually post all over the place as well.

I have a theory that would explain the behavior you are speaking of. In an effort to keep the shiznit from hitting the fan, I won't post it on the board.

For the record, I post wherever I see a topic that sparks my interest.

I am interested in hearing your theory.

kiml122 09-24-2001 05:42 PM

I too post where I see an interesting topic.

Special1920 09-24-2001 07:01 PM

Soror email me your theory, when you have time.

MIDWESTDIVA 09-24-2001 07:38 PM

I'm not a Zeta. But I will email you and GiggyZ as soon as I get a chance.

aprilzeta 09-24-2001 07:43 PM

Soror,

I also post where I see a topic that interests me.

PrettyPetite 09-24-2001 10:45 PM

To be honest, I check out most of the boards, but I only post where I like the current vibe.

IlustriousPearl 09-25-2001 01:30 AM

Any and all forums

When I login to GC, I go straight to "View New Posts". This allows me to read all of the recently posted threads and I post a reply in whatever thread that sparks my interest. I also visit the General Forums, and then each of the BGL sororities forums. So in a nutshell, yes, I too post everywhere.

ChaosDST 09-25-2001 04:36 PM

I post on all the boards, when I see an interesting topic and when there's a Greek love vibe going on. As long as I feel my input will be welcomed. Whether I post or not, though...I'm always watching :)

BlueReign 09-25-2001 10:21 PM

I like this one! Yes, I am one who posts all over the place and not just the BGLO's. Because of this, I have made some new cyber friends from all races and organizations. I post everywhere because I am like that (down to earth and nice) and because I didn't see any "rules" that told me not to. There are some boards honestly, where there is a certain "vibe" that is not too inviting but I ignore it and post anyway because I'm sorry yall, that is how I was raised -- to be nice to people. I don't know any other way to be and quite frankly don't understand people who aren't

When I had a desk job I posted all the time, anyway!! Now I'm back in the classroom and I miss this so right now I am trying to get my GC high back. :D Sorry I am so long-winded but I miss chatting with some of you.

BTW, Midwest tell me your news too. You've got my address. :)

stillwater15 09-25-2001 10:48 PM

this is the first time i've posted in this forum, but i have posted in other forums besides dst. basically, i click the button, which takes me to all unread posts and go from there. i'm still relatively new to this website, but once i learn the ins and outs, i'll be posting more, in all forums, if the topic of discussion is of interest to me.

Steeltrap 09-26-2001 11:58 AM

Mainly, I post on AKA Ave. (my org) and DST Blvd, with occasional forays into other NPHC rooms and in the general rooms.
In the NPHC rooms, I find that most of the regulars have mature minds. I also find certain people on the general forums have mature minds, too.
I do post in the general forums from time to time, but only if I feel like the discussion is reasonable. In the general, however, I do get weary of media-bashing (I am a journalist) and ignorance about NPHC groups.

PrettyKitty 09-28-2001 12:35 AM

Good topic...I post where I feel like posting, when I feel like posting. I like the Zeta forum out of all the NPHC orgs boards though cause we have been the most civil to each other and our guests....;)

Lone Dog 10-08-2001 12:34 PM

Guess what ya'll....I sho 'nuff post in other forums (as if you couldn't deduce that from this reply). I don't see a probelm with it...we may belong to different organizations, but when it boils down to it, we all have a common purpose. We have NPHC for a reason.

SO ya'll holla at a Que....check me out atN.A.S.-D.'s Out Page
Sign the Guestbook... ROOOOOO

TRSimon 10-08-2001 04:34 PM

I post in different places throughout the general and BGLO forums (obviously). I think that since the events of Sept. 11, a lot of people just scan and don't leave responses.

If the topic is interesting, I don't see anything wrong with posting in another org's forum. I think some people do have a problem with posting on other forums (than their org) because they don't have proper Greek respect. Then again, that's a home training issue...

As for me, I was trained right. I know I started something, but I tried to behave...Please forgive me.

:D

:) I like your words my fellow sista of greekdom.....and others who have mentioned that they post on topics of interest. Everyone's opinion means something to me ;)

....Besides, most of time some fellow greekchatters may have said something you wanted to say and so why repeat?? :D

I try to look in every forum.....to look for and show diversity - even in greekdom!!

PrettyKitty 11-03-2001 10:25 AM

Since I have been spending a lil more time on GC, I am starting to see what people are talking about in regards to people who only post in certain forums....hmmm

Finer Woman10-A-91 11-03-2001 10:42 AM

Yep...there is a definite pattern. Would it be fair to say those who do not venture out have a more narrow perspective about the relations between bglos? I mean if you only talk to half of the players...how do you gain a full perspective of the relationship? Things that make you

Posting on other forums

Hello Ladies of Zeta Phi Beta

Well I just recently started spending more time on GC... Yes I have been posting all over the place. If there is an unwelcomed vibe I just ignore it and post on the topic any way... It's all about Greek Luv and Repect for one another. ;)

Hi Kizzie22,
Welcome to GC! I know that's right SS...in an ideal world, everyone would feel the same...but's it's not...so you have folks with twisted mentalities, and I can do is shake my head cause some people JUST DON'T GET IT! (divided we are falling) I have to big up people who speak their mind wherever it may be and don't play follow the leader...

Soror you are so right. At first I thought it was my imagination, then I started really watching. But it's all good, I continue to post all over the place, even though I get ignored in some forums.

exquizit 11-03-2001 07:53 PM

Hi everyone!

First of all Hello everyone!:D

I'm Exquizit and I normally post on the Alpha Kappa Alpha and the Delta Sigma Theta boards.

In the beginning I was posting on Alpha Kappa Alpha's board because as a SF that's all I was focused on. Then as I began to post regularly I saw other members of other orgs posting, I began to feel their vibe and enjoy the personality and flavor of their posts. That made me branch out and post in other areas.

I post on topics that interest me and often times amuse or provoke some serious thought. I've noticed that in the boards I frequent, I read posts by all types of orgs and I think it's great.

I've noticed that some boards do in fact get a bit more action than others but if all sorts of people meet up in that one spot, what difference does it make as long as we all get involved in some type of discussion?

I agree with this thought whole heartedly. It's a great idea.
I wish everyone luck on their respective boards, there's alot of love involved with greekchatting!!!;)

I post all of the place also but mainly in DST and AKA boards whenever a topic interests me.

NinjaPoodle 11-06-2001 02:50 AM

Hello and greek love to the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta,

I generally post in Sigma Gamma Rho but once or twice I have posted on AKA's and Delta's boards. I do read a lot of the posts from other boards. If I can relate to it I'll post but if not, I move on. I have also visited the chat area but the native greek speakers are at the least "rude" to non-greek speakers.

I agree with both sorors PrettyKitty and Special1920. I have noticed that some posts get ignored on some boards, but I will continue to post anywhere, as long as I have something valuable to say. :p

I COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU MORE.

TRSimon 11-07-2001 03:08 PM

I used to post...

wherever I found topics of interest, but I recently found a post that so reeked of immaturity and stupidity, I will have to decline from posting in at least one BGLO forum.

Post wherever you feel comfortable, but sometimes enough is enough for me, even from the Bougie And Pretentious...

It is really sad that some people fail to see that we are all sisters and brothers helping our communities first. Three letters and two colors will never make me. I will always make them with the best I can be.

lil_sunshine 11-07-2001 07:08 PM

Yes I do...

I do try to post in other forums so that I'm not biased or anything. I view topics that interest me and I try to post responses where I feel that my ray of sunshine will benefit. Other than that, I'm not able to spend that much time in GC world because I have to go to class and study, but I try to visit as often as possible. I have this same attitude when I try to see my niece, who doesn't live with me. She's a real cutie. :D

Her Dopenezzz 11-08-2001 01:40 PM

It would be nice to have an integrated GC community but I think I am going to have to keep it gully and say, "Oh well". I'm sure we'll all get over it.

pretty3grl 11-23-2001 02:27 AM

I always start in the AKA forum because that is home for me, however, I check out each BGLO forum before I leave, and post in any forum that has a topic that interests me.
