This is pretty exciting.

Question: Does anyone know what total and average chapter size is for Auburn? I was wondering how many girls the colony could potentially be taking.

Our consultants are on campus now! If you know of interested women please tell them to find their table in the union from 10 am -1 pm weekdays through 1/30/09.

I'm one of the Fraternity officers heading to Auburn to interview the potential colony members and I am beyond excited!

War Eagle!

What a CUTE website! I love that shot of the ladies in the video giving some "Theta Love!" I'm excited to hear what happens when today has ended!

I loved the website also. The group shot "Theta Love" is of the Delta Eta chapter at Kansas State University. The girls framed the picture and gave it as a thank you to a retiring recruitment advisor who had served for over 20 years.

Wondering so much how bid day at Auburn is progressing. . .

TSteven 02-05-2009 05:03 PM

Congrats to all the new Thetas at Auburn.

FSUZeta 02-05-2009 06:50 PM

any news? any photos? we are excited to know.

Thetagirl218 02-05-2009 09:27 PM

Paging kiteflyerzl! Auburn is in District V, and that is her District!

carnation 02-05-2009 10:59 PM

My husband and son are leaving for Auburn in 10 minutes and they're under strict instructions to report anything they see or hear about Theta's colonization!

lawgal 02-05-2009 11:24 PM

We were down there on the 23rd for a college visit and saw fliers but when we stopped at the Greek life office, Jill Moore wasn't there to answer questions. The woman I did ask about total for the sororities did not know what I was talking about and when one of the young men with us asked how many fraternities there are, she said she though 12(!) (there are at least 26).

Okay, this made me laugh out loud. Will they actually comply with this request? :p

carnation 02-06-2009 07:27 AM

Well, yeah, with 6 Greek daughters and a Greek wife, my husband has gotten kind of interested in Greek life. I told him to watch out for signs that were gold and black and had kites and said something like "Kappa Alpha Theta welcomes its million new pledges". He'll have several hours to kill while he's waiting for our son so he just might see something!

Theta was in the dorm next to ours when I was at Auburn. Several of us had good Theta friends. This is so cool!

Update

Sorry - I've been catching up on sleep. ;)

Bid Day was Wednesday and there are now 117 FABULOUS colony members at Auburn. It was so great to meet the women. I am going back in March to help them prepare for Formal Recruitment and I could not be more excited. Our 3 based ELCs there are doing a tremendous job as well. We will have a space in "The Village" and I got to see some of the fabric swatches. It's going to be beautiful!

Another note - the Auburn Panhellenic was so helpful and welcoming. The women wore "Think Theta" buttons on campus. The store windows downtown featured black and gold clothing. The Chick-Fil-A window was even painted "think theta". And my favorite of all - some of the panhellenic women came to cheer for our new members when they got their bids. How great is that? I am not just MDD but PHDD as well so I am thrilled to be working with our VPPH and VPM on this campus.

Waaaar Eagle!

Zillini 02-06-2009 09:28 AM

Congratulations! 117 new members, that's wonderful! It's also great to hear that all of Panhellenic has been so supportive.

Army Wife'79 02-06-2009 10:46 AM

Pictures, we want to see pictures.

honeychile 02-06-2009 11:14 AM

Congratulations on a fantastic colonization - and Panhellenic!!

Pictures really would make it a Kodak moment... ;)

CougarGrad 02-06-2009 02:11 PM

Hooray for the 117 new kite flyers at Auburn! :)

carnation 02-06-2009 06:20 PM

My husband just called and said that he was standing in line today and mentioned to our son that he should remember to look out for Theta signs. The girl behind him perked up and said that she thought they'd taken around 120 girls and that at least 20 were upperclassmen. She then described to him what they were doing this week, from which he deduced, "I think she was trying to tell me that they were getting the Theta version of Owl Pals like the twins had."

Yeah you did! My bf always tells me when he sees someone wearing Kappa letters, and he pointed out when I was (inadvertently) wearing blue and blue last week. Lol!

Sorry - I sadly had to leave before the bid day celebration so I have no photos. I'll see what I can get from our ELC friends. ;) Stay tuned.

They raised quota to 200 when they allowed Theta on campus. So everyone had to do Spring recruitment I think. And yeah, everyone was super supportive of them coming back on. 3 people I know pledged and are INCREDIBLY excited about it :) and 1 is one of those upperclassmen that was mentioned earlier.

ZLAM & War Eagle!

AUZTAlady 02-24-2009 12:31 AM

Move in to The Village is Next school year. Everyone will be doing recruitment from the new dorms.
