My birthday was Sept. 18. It's not nice to ask a lady her age. ;)

Professor 09-26-2001 01:47 PM

I'm holding it down! Happy Birthday Frat! As the oldest Virgo in the house let me tell you some words of wisdom.

1. People don't really think you are an adult until you turn 30.

2. You can always tell how you are holding up when you attend a high school reunion. If you still have hair and no pot belly then you're doing good.

3. If you are use to hanging in a club every weekend well now is the time to start saying goodby. At some point you will look around the club and see you are the oldest person there.

4. Sex is still good. However, don't have sex just because. Have quality sex - it just gets better and better.

5. Some things are age appropriate. Don't be like me and try to buy what's in style. Everybody can't walk around with pants hanging off their ass - Yep, I've tried.

6. Watch out young girls. They want your money!

7. Foster a closer relationship with your parents. At 30 you really start to understand them.

8. Instead of talking about all the bad ass kids in the world select one and become a mentor. It will change your life.

9. If you don't have a savings account, start one. Before you know it you will be retired.

10. Don't let anyone tell you that you are not the mack. Some things are just good to remember!

and another thing - if your dance is still the centipede, learn to sit at the bar and enjoy watching others. Join me as I watch discogoddess do her thang - the roof - the roof - the roof is on fire . . .

dirtymike1906 09-27-2001 04:14 PM

Well said frat and very true frat! LOL at the centipede reference.

And the clothing thing is all too true. You just look downright silly if you try to go against the grain.

Dayum, am I that old??? :D :D

Ideal08 09-27-2001 04:43 PM

Professor...

Your words of wisdom are on point! Especially the one on quality sex, I couldn't agree more!

And, fellas, please know that women DO talk about the old brotha in the club. Unless he's just that fly. :)

KnowledgeEternal 09-27-2001 09:51 PM

Alright, Now I feel like a little kid. The Centipede? What the heck is that? Sounds like something my father would do. Is the Centipede anywhere around the time of the Camel Walk? My pops is always talking about that.

The Centipede is not as old as the Camel Walk..not by a long shot. The Centipede was out in the 80's if memory serves me correct. :)

dirtymike1906 09-28-2001 02:54 PM

Dayum KnowledgeEternal, your young as h*ll !!!!!

I think Reagan was around when the centipede was out. Do you remember him? He was President right before Bush's daddy. :D :D

OA and Prof, are y'all peeping this?

KnowledgeEternal 09-28-2001 03:18 PM

Centipede? In the 80's? Sorry, I'm not with ya. I was just learning to walk, read, and pee straight in the 80's.

Anyways, forget you all. I'm going outside for recess.

Ideal08 09-28-2001 04:14 PM

LMAO!

That is hilarious!

Now, truth be told, I remember Reebie's (sp?) song Centipede, but I can't remember the dance. I know SOME peeps call the EARTHWORM the Centipede, but it's clearly called the EARTHWORM!! Where IS Reebie Jackson?

I ain't never heard of the Camel Walk.

It's funny we're having this conversation, because this week is Kids Week on Jeopardy!, and they were missing a lot of questions that pertained to the 80's. At first, I was like, oh come on, but then I thought about it, them kids weren't even born until the end of the 80's or probably early 90's. I'm not old, not by a long shot. I leave that to DM1906, OA, and the Prof! ;) But stuff like this does make me feel just a WEE bit old.

STILL LOL @ forget you all. I'm going outside for recess. LOL LOL! :D

AKA2D '91 09-28-2001 04:59 PM

You don't know what the Centepede dance looks like? That was big back in 1984.
Yeah, you know but probably don't realize what it is.

Now, the Camel Walk, that's oooooollllllllldddddddddd! My daddy always talked about that dance when I was a little girl. Heck, if he were alive, he'd be in his 70's. They did that back in his college days. LOL

Dexter 09-29-2001 01:11 AM

Guess who's Back? It's the almighty Lord goliath of the notorious Spring 94 Bloody Bad Ass-Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha. I want to give a shout out to all the virgos in da hizzel fo shizzel.
Mybirthday was September 18th. Let's just say I'm older than 25.

MsReal 09-29-2001 04:16 PM

Happy Belated Birthday to all Virgos!

I'm on September 1 and still a young buck but I know what the centipede looks like (not that I know how to do it or nothing). Now the camel walk...? You got me on that one.

Professor 10-02-2001 03:36 PM

I am falling on the floor laughing!!! You know the Centipede was my dance. I'm waiting for it to come back along with Evelyn Champaign King and those bad ass Mary Jane Girls.

dirtymike1906 10-02-2001 03:54 PM

Where is Evelyn & the Mary Jane Girls?

Now that's what I'm talking about!

I'm still mourning the breakup of Vanity 6.

ZChi4Life 10-05-2001 07:46 PM
