Your new and old New Years Resolution..did you give in?

I know there was a thread started on this last year, but what is your New Year's Resolution this year, and for those of you who had one last year did you do it, or did it last like maybe a week and then you gave in?

I don't remember posting one last year, but this year, I'm going to start telling people/my classmates in particular "no" more often rather than saying "yes" when I really don't want to. They always ask to borrow something from me, and I never get it back. What's worse is I never ask for it back. I'll always beat around the bush and then say "btw did you still need my book?" When I should say, "Hey, I need my book back. Will you please bring it to class next time?"

I want to take pictures more often. There have been many times when I've gone out with friends, or my b/f, or both, and I would bring my camera with the intention of taking pictures, and for some reason, it doesn't end up happening. That's my new years resolution!

I usually have the same New Years resolution every year. I have a few nervous habits that I'm trying to get rid of (like biting my nails) that I still have. Actually, my nails are wayyyy better. Anyway, it's usually the same thing every year.

This year: run twice a week. Probably 2 miles cause that's a little less than half an hour. I was training for a half-marathon this summer but I had to drop out. I figure I can at least run 2 miles twice a week to get back into the swing of things.

I'd like to figure out a way to run more. And I want to take an art class or two. I love to draw and paint and I want to get better at it.

Not trying to promote them too much, but Team in Training was freaking awesome for me. I got so much support for my running, and it was great to be part of a team. I couldn't believe I ran two miles at our first meeting. So much fun! I almost always felt super pumped with this group!

But seriously, people are different about running. Some like company, some abhor it. I personally can't stand running with music on, but others swear by it. I think there are lots of things that could help.

Oh, I definitely hate it, but I've missed being able to. I meant I physically can't do it anymore. I break out in hives if I run for more than 10 minutes. But this year, I want to look into treatments because I didn't always have this problem.

I'm not sure if I kept mine or gave in. I forgot what they were! haha!

I made my usual resolution, not to make any resolutions, and kept it. I did, however, improve my life greatly by sticking to the last sentence in my signature.

I made one to swear less. I broke it many times. :o

honeychile this is the best post here. I never thought about it like that, and the last sentence in your siggy is SO true.

I made another one! I'm going to go to more shows/concerts. Sounds pretty rough, huh?

Last year I resolved to run a half marathon, which I accomplished twice.

This year I'm resolving to run a full marathon.

Ooooh good one! I want to go to NYC more often. I live too close to it to not take advantage of Broadway!

I'm making a pledge (because a pledge is a promise not a person, or a resolution tee-hee) to bake you a kransekake in 2009.

I picked a book up from the library on wheat weaving, so I think that's a true statement.

I'm thinking of having two resolutions this year: A) be neater and more organized and B) Finish most of my various sewing/scrapbooking/craft projects before starting new ones.

Smile_Awhile 12-30-2008 02:30 PM

I didn't really have any last year, so no failure for me!

This year, I've got two: the quintessential work out more (as if I don't, the poundage will creep up on me). Also, to start maintaining a written schedule. I think I'd do loads better- just got to force myself to keep going.

laurent 12-30-2008 02:37 PM

I broke all of mine last year, and the year(s) before that....Maybe this year will be different

My resolution this year is to learn spanish. I bought the Rosetta stone software last year and it has been sitting in my closet ever since. This year I will dust it off and actually install it. I also want to start working out, although that will be a silent resolution.

Be more organized, reduce procrastination and keep in touch better with friends.
