Which chants and/or songs STILL come to mind?
 

I've noticed when people tell their recruitment stories, they mention that the chant by ABC or the song at XYZ still sticks with them to this day. So...

Which song or chant from a group you didn't join still comes to mind and brings a smile? :)

For me it's always "oh the owl, the key, the fleur de lis, the blue the blue now that's for me"

It always gets stuck is my head though i do love my ADPi songs and chants!

I don't remember all the words but the end is "I love the crescent moon shining in the sky... Gamma Phi Beta, Gamma Phi Beta, Gamma Phi Beta, Gamma Phi Beta..." It still sticks forever!

My friends mom was an AXO at UCSB, and when I told her I'm a Kappa, she started singining "Oh, Kappa Kappa Kappa Gamma!" Ha! I realize that's a different song but...anyway!

I remember two Chi O songs: "Style, pep, that's what you get, when you go Chi O, you get style and pep" and this one chant that was in two groups--it was super cute with hand motions and it was like CHI O, RED HOT, CHI O, RED HOT. They were so loud, and so in sync, that they seemed really put together and coordinated.

I also remember an AST song. It takes most of the words to a Pussycat Dolls song and changes the lyric to "Don't you wish your girlfriend was AST, dontcha?"

My chapter sings a song that a chapter sister wrote--we always sing it in a round. Saiiiilboats, purple and white, we have seen our violet light, pearls and girls and memorieeeees, we are Sigma Three. My little even made it into a midi ringtone.

Yes! I remember that Kappa song... especially that last part... "K-A-P-P-A, K-A-P-P-A, G-A-M-M-A, Kappa Kappa Gamma Hey!!"

Some other ones that still get stuck in my head...

That's the only whole one I picked up on my own cause it was so repetitive lol

Then I heard this one in recruitment but learned it cause my friend is sang it all the time...

I just love Pi Beta Phi"

And there was this Tridelt one that ended like...

"Go D-E-L-T-A, D-E-L-T-A, D-E-L-T-A,

I also remember that the Chi-Os at my school did the Coca Cola song... I dont remember the words except "Always Chi Omega!"

And then Theta had this cheer that I would always hear in the hallways of my dorm... whenever actives came to pick up new members for like their first social or pledge mom night or some big event they came up to their door chanting...

"K!!!-A-P-P-A
A!!!-L-P-H-A
T!!!-H-E-T-A
KAPPA ALPHA THETA HEY!"

I love hearing all the different chants different chapters have!

I am an S-I-G Sig, M-A, Sigma,
K-A-P, Kap, P-A, Kappa,

I probably remember that one because it was freakin' hard to learn.

Oh yeah, speaking of Sigma Kappa I remember another!

They had one that was like "Go Greek, why don't ya go Greek, why don't ya go Sigma K"

or something like that...

Theta did that on our campus.

Kappa Alpha Theta is always the one.

The one I remember the best is "Kappa Kappa Kappa Gamma , I'm so glad that I am a" repeat. It gets stuck in my head FOREVER!

Also someone did Christina Aguilera's Ain't no other man, and it was really cute!

"Everyone wants to be a CHI OMEGA, everyone wants to be RED HOT!"

Still sing that to myself sometimes.

A bunch of my friends (who aren't even Greek!) says there's this Theta song that gets stuck in their heads constantly... I only know the first two lines. It's kind of slow and it's something like,

......


I get these ones stuck in my head a lot, especially during Recruitment...

My chapter had a similar chant! We learned it our first night as founding sisters and passed it down to all the future pledge classes!

There was clapping throughout the chant!!!

Cheesy, I know :p. We used it during intramurals and such. It would work with T!! H-E-T-A! too!

the only chant I remember is from Tri Sigma and it goes:

and the song I remember is from Alpha Xi:

TriSig was next door to us and my bedroom overlooked their porch. I have learned quite a few by accident. I think the one that sticks in my head the most is:

And when I was a Rho Chi we learned different songs for all the GLOs on campus. I don't remember all the words, but the Sigma Kappa one with the hand motions and talking about "the mystic bonds" was one of my favs.

The kd and the dz at my school both do this chant and it always gets stuck in my head

"We are the kappa deltas, don't you wanna be a kd too, don't you wanna be a kd too"


or

"we are the delta zetas, don't you wanna be a dz too, dont you wanna be a dz too"


of the Phi Mu chants, this one always gets stuck in my head

"i wanna be a phi mu a phi mu
way deep deep
way down down
way deep deep
way down down in my heart, whooo!"

The one that sticks in my head is: I am a T... I am a T-R... I am a T-R-I-D-E-L-T-A... we are the B-E-S-T best of the R-E-S-T rest I am a T-R-I-D-E-L-T-A!!! Not very panhellenic but it's the one that stuck.

I loved one of the Phi Mu songs: Give our regards to kappa, remember us to theta too, tell all the girls at the Chi Omega house they won't be seeing you. Tell them that you've been longing, to join a band of girls so true. Give our regards to ADPi and tell them you're gonna pledge PHI MU. (give our regards to broadway tune)
Also, Theta had a cute song - I came to school as green as green could be. Lord knows I must have been a legacy. cause Theta took me in, and my new life here began, Theta made a lady out of me.

32 years since Rush for me, but I still remember:

from my days as a rushee, three groups songs/chants stick out in my mind:

the kappas sang "i'm a kappa kappa gamma". the tune is Yankee doodle dandy.

the chi o's did a really cute chant that introduced their members in groups , designated by where they were from-the miami girls, the orlando girls, the jacksonville girls, etc. very cute!

tri delta did a chant that was very catchy. even if you could not understand all the words(which i could not) the rhythm stayed with you. hopefully it was not exclusive only to the fsu tri delt chapter and someone can supply the words.

"ohhhhh, ohhhhhh, the delta, the delta, the delta,delta delta,
and then a lot of words said really fast, with the chant ending "full of vim and gooooo, ohhhh, the delta the delta, the delta, delta , delta" and then they started over.

If I walk at a certain gait, "Gamm-a Phi Bet-a, Gamm-a Phi Beta-a" will start in my head, and I'll have an ear worm of:

Because of sidewalk songs (in the olden days), which sometimes lasted 10 minutes, all the 'rushee's' (900 to 1100) would sing this one song the entire 'rush' week back in the dorms. Would drive all the other chapters crazy! Somehow it was the only one the rushee's would remember.

These are just pieces of what I remember but:

The Gamma Phis at my school have this cool clapping chant that I've only heard a few times (like at Greek Week). I wanna hear it again!

You mean "Flip-Flop"? Just the words don't do it justice . . . the Gamma Phis all stand in a circle or line, hands at waist level and to the side, one palm up, the other down, and each girl places her hand over or under the girl next to her. I need a picture -that also doesn't do it justice!

We are the Gamma Phi Betas,
We'd like to tell you,
We are so glad you're here.
We're sisters ever true (flip flop!)
friendships for me and for you (flip flop!)
We'd like to take this time

Gamma - Phi Beta, Gamma - Phi Beta, Gamma - Phi Beta Girls.

The one I remember is something like "G Phi G Phi B ...Gamma Phi Beta!" something that sounds like "de-de"...it's very fast....and it gets completely stuck in my head.

At Pi Phi's pref ceremony, they sang a song that went something like 'Can you hear the angels of Pi Phi? We're standing right in front of you.'

My memory of the words is sketchy, but I can still hum the tune. It's a beautiful song!

One possibility -
(A round - half sing "Gamma Phi Beta - Gamma Phi Beta - Gamma Phi Beta - Gamma Phi Beta)
